The only problem with reducing calories/starving is the constant headaches. That’s what keeps screwing me over. I get told to drink lots of water but then I end up living on the toilet seat, peeing my kidneys out. There’s no winning. 😒

Damn it, Minty and Yajra do look alike. Never noticed it before, until Tanya posted the pics.

On Topic: I am in the same boat buddy. It’s really really difficult to maintain a certain weight as i get paranoid if i cross the 50Kg mark. I literally have to starve myself for a good 18 hours to make sure i don’t gain weight, as i put on weight very easily. No sweets/Rice for me. I survive only on on Roti/Sabzi/Daal/Chicken /Fish. Maybe once in a month i might have Burger but that’s about it😭 I live a sad life when it comes to food💔

You need a routine. Start slow and steady. Doing too many things at once will only exhaust you.

Find a physical activity that gets your heart rate up and that you actually enjoy. And do that 4-5 days per week. Bonus points by doing strength training - the more muscle tissue built, the more your metabolism rises (aka more calories burned throughout the day even at rest and you don't have to restrict your diet as much to lose the weight).

Eat balanced meals regularly - skipping will make you want to eat more. Don't drink your calories.

I personally prefer wearing a smart watch because I can track my metrics in the moment (aka, I can't deliberately lie to myself that I've been "active" if my numbers clearly show I've been sedentary all day etc)

Hinna, you need to break up with Arjun Hairy Kapoor. I’ve heard that a broken heart can help you lose weight. 😆

Since my puberty I had problem with weight gain because some called me fat even though I realized in recent years I actually wasn’t based on my height. I was chubby and had a healthy weight, but most back home want girls to be like a stick else they are fat. I used to be mostly like bones and some skin before puberty. Anyway so I was always concerned about weight all my teenage years and then adulthood and in response even gained more and actually become overweight with worry and then some crazy diets.

What I found helpful in the last couple years and I have been able to maintain weight in the same range is to just eat balance, healthy, and be consistent. I have been eating mostly outside food the last few months. But I eat balance calories so even though I have gained few pounds I am still under the same range. I am going more based on calories limit a day. Even when I gain few I lose the same few pounds back and gain every often and now. I have maintained my weight in the same range for 2 years now despite the fact that I haven’t exercised and eaten home food much for the last almost a year now. That’s not to say don’t exercise but just to say eating habits is far more important as that counts for majority of weight. I did exercise regularly like at least 3 times week in the beginning of my weight loss journey and continued it for over a year. I need to go back to exercise too.

Most follow crazy diets and think they can do that forever which isn’t possible for most and that’s why they stop doing it and go back to their regular habits which made them gain weight in the first place. Or they can follow crazy diets for weeks and few months and think once they do that they can finally relax and have the same weight. That’s very unrealistic. Don’t follow crazy diets and impossible eating habits like having all or mostly protein and everything. Of course, few can follow Keto and all that but that’s not possible for most. Just do it more balance. It’s okay to eat outside food as long as it’s not mostly fast food or having thousands of calories. It’s okay to drink soda and eat cake once in a while. I will be honest I have eaten mostly outside food like rice with lamb chops, other Afghan food and pizza the last few months. But I eat that big entree a day and don’t eat anything other than some coffee with an egg or cookie. Same if I am eating pizza. I eat three slices a day and don’t eat anything or get small snack or breakfast early in the morning. I don’t eat lunch and dinner separately. That one big meal a day is my lunch/dinner both. I think what has helped me though more in recent few months that I am home so I eat less. Whenever I work and/or have school etc I gain weight more early. But thankfully the last 2 years I didn’t gain despite working and having school for most part of the last 2 years. You should also find eating habits which works for you. For some small meals a day works better while for me one big meal with small breakfast works better. Also more importantly after you lose weight you have to maintain it which is the hardest part from what I have read and know. According to a study most gain back the weight they lost. So make sure to maintain it. Don’t try to lose it fast if you can’t and hard for you. It took me almost a year to lose 30 pounds. I wanted to develop good eating habits more than just doing some fast diet to lose fast and then gain it back. Just cut some snacks which easily become 250-500 calories and develop good habits and changes to lose weight. It’s better to be consistent and develop good eating habits you can follow easily for the rest of your life than to do some fast diet which will exhaust you and make you gain back the same weight because you never developed the habits and just followed some diet which is hard to do forever.

Talking about Afghan food. The one time (every 6 months) I announce to my family that I’ll be dieting, my mum decides to make mantu, boloni, osh, etc all within a span of a few days. WHY 🥲

Yar Mujhe Yoga krna nhi ata. I mean i don’t know the technicalities and stuff😆 I mostly do follow Roberta Gymm exercises or 10 minutes treadmill, if I eat something like Rice/Sweets or fried stuff. Other than that I really don’t do much because mai toh purely din mai sirf Ek meal hy khati hun😆 I think eating only 1 meal is the reason, i put on weight so easily because Meri body ko itna kam food ki Adat hogye hai😆 But kya Karen everyone has a different type of body. I keep juggling between 47-49 Kg depending on what i eat. Bas 50KG sy upar nhi Jana chahiye 😔
