And instead of all the taam jhaam about making special diet recipes why can't we eat simple Dal chawal roti sabji/khichdi..trust me it takes less time to cook. And u get variety too..toor Dal, kadhi, moong, mix dal, dal fry, dal makhani, sambhaar, Dal palak, bisi bele rice.. it may sound same but ingredients n taste of each is different.

Soups r also good but making them is more time consuming..and instant ones r to be avoided.

Most important..keep one cheat day so u won't have cravings.

And fasting is not for everyone..it's suits some people but at least I get headaches n acidity if I don't eat on time

But roti and rice is not good for weight loss na?

Fasting only gives me problems for first 2 days, after that its easy peasy

Ditto. I don’t eat until I get home from work, which is around 6pm. I just eat one full meal and that’ll keep me satisfied till the following evening. It also makes fasting more fun coz all I do during the day is look forward to eating. 😆

How do you survive without breakfast? Isn't that the most important meal of the day?

No..nothing like that..Rice is the staple food in South but people r considerably fit.

U can avoid taking two carbs together though..like skip rice when u have roti and vice versa..

Or if u want to avoid gluten go for bajra, jowar, ragi or oats roti

Well depends on habit. Some people follow these meal timings daily and it works well..they have ur first meal of the day between 9.30 and 11am...call it breakfast or lunch whatever. And have dinner by 6.30 -7pm.. In between if u r hungry have fruits.

This actually also results in fasting for close to straight 15 hrs daily

I am not a gym person and an absolute foodie. I had gained quite a lot of weight doing WFH last 2-3 years. However it’s easy for me to lose weight. There are things that works for me and my body.

First doing planks everyday (30s-30s-30s), this keeps my tummy tucked in. Second I walk 30-40 mins around 3 times in a week or walk 1-2 days and swim one day 30-45 mins.

Third is food. Food wise if we don’t eat anything after 6:30pm we can see immediate changes in weight. I take good Indian breakfast, vegetarian salad lunch and chana or sprout fry at 4-5 pm. If I am still hungry I take 1 roti with lots of dal before 6, but the chana or sprout is usually heavy on stomach so don’t need to take dinner. Sunday is a cheat day, eat anything.

Honestly never had weights issue with above things, my motivation for weight loss is wearing a pretty dress which is quite strong a motivation in a office full of handsome men. P.S: I don’t know why I posted my regime here, it’s very embarrassing and funny coz no one asked for it lol

My thoughts:

Highly recommend intermittent fasting. Merko bhot help kiya.

But ask your doctor about it first please.

Don't restrict any food. Agar bhot man kar raha hai toh eat anything you want, don't feel guilty about it.

Try to have a balanced diet. Only thing to keep in mind veggies must be greater than your grains.

Make sure you eat each of these 6 items DAILY: Veggies, Whole Grains, Fruits (fresh OR dry), Protein of choice, Nuts/Seeds, Dairy (milk, butter, cheese, ghee, dahi, buttermilk...)

Try to exercise regularly, as much as you can. You will skip some days, don't fret over it. Nobody's perfect. Life happens.

If you approximately follow this, I'll assure you, you'll lose for sure. Good luck 👍🏼

The ONLY downside to intermittent fasting: missing out on eating some meals with family.

Nothing to be embarrassed about and thank you for sharing. My biggest motivation for losing weight is when I’m invited to a wedding. I’ll be visiting America in December so I’m even more motivated to get my kamli kamli body. 😆
