This is home. I am scared of TV fans appearing in their hoardes and eek !. I am commenting on the home page articles and today when an article compared Ranveer's acting to someone called Vivian I asked a valid question, Why is he not in BW when Sushant, Vidya, Ayushman have made it even in the age of nepotism. Heck even Sobti was cast in BW thereby becoming fan girl target eek ! 😆. So me with my foot in mouth disease, TV actor fans and debate mansion don't mix. 😳. IF home page gets me in trouble. I shall safely hide here. 😆

Interesting question. I follow both Prabhas and Anushka Shetty fans on Twitter, and now that rumors are getting stronger that Anu might be cast in Saaho there is a daily war in my timeline. Prabhas fans think she's too fat and looks like an Aunty, and they don't want her in their fave hero's movie unless she loses weight and looks glamorous again. Anushka's fans are getting mad and accusing them of body shaming. I guess I can see both their points of view. It's not nice to degrade anyone for their looks but if an actress wants to play a certain type of role, they probably need to look the part.

Damn it !! I ship them. Do they know she put on weight for a movie ? It did not occur to me as well even tho I had heard about Inji Iduppazhagi.

To humiliate and put someone down would be to shame them. Body shaming is when we humiliate and put people down for their body.
I would say referring to "jiggly body parts" "moobs" or calling people "fat/moti" is body shaming and hence inappropriate/unethical behavior.

But I will also admit that we are all hypocrites. We all engage in these acts humorously/seriously or intentionally/unintentionally. We all need to be more mindful of how our words and deeds impact other people.

I do not buy into the agenda that you should love your body even if you are morbidly obese and it is threatening your life. The important thing is good health. And good health can be in any body size. Some fit appearing/skinny people can have terrible cholesterol issues and struggle to climb stairs. Some obese appearing people can run marathons and have great vitals. As long as someone is healthy and happy, their shape or size does not matter. But when someone is unhealthy and unhappy, we ought to empathize and help them be better - not shame them.

Body shaming is another harmless tactic for celebs to stay in news and act as if they are revolutionaries.

We live in a fat shaming culture where skinny ones are usually glorified...the pics on tumblr are downright disturbing.. I have a fast metabolism, but I judge people who go around shaming fat people...fat people are very much aware of their weight, and most have health problems... there is no need to shame them and be an a****** to them... makes me wonder the ones who do that.. how do they look at themselves..
if you are confident about your body you look great and you don't need to rely on others for validation... if you are not confident that's generally a sign you need to make changes in your diet and fitness.

You body shame people as a way to motivate yourself, so you do not look like them. As long as you do not tell them on their face, there is no harm.

But using negative energy ( body shaming others in your mind) to do something positive like being healthy is a waste of energy. It does nothing for you as a person.
