Thank u for asking 😊 I m good now, though I have gained weight again. My main concern is my parents are diabetic and I don't want to be diabetic so I have to keep a constant check on my weight that it doesn't go beyond limit. But work and irregular food timing is doing the harm. No time to go to gym and the doctor goes like spend 30 mins for exercise. 30 mins does nothing for me 😆

I m glad I could show u a different perspective. Sometimes it scares me what people can do out of desperation. I used to watch a show whr this girl would be humiliated for her fat body and she started taking pills and fast through the day just to get rid of her weight. That was so close to my life that it made me thankful that I wasn't pushed to that extreme in life. But who knows if there are such people in real life and one innocent comment might push them to those extremes. This is why I made the comment. It changed my thinking too.

Honestly, I cannot promise I will never again mock a celeb because I think many of them are lazy. I believe in hard work and not taking an opportunity for granted. If their contemporaries work out, why shouldn't they work out and why should I not expect it ?

. But I never realized mocking a celeb could actually harm someone in RL. That I do care about. So thank you for a different perspective. I would like to be somewhere in the middle, hopefully more on the side of not harming people with my words while still having my celeb standards. Not sure I can succeed, but I sure will try.

I'm all for body positivity for truly unchangeable things like skin tone, height, facial features like a crooked nose, skin discolorations due to genetic diseases, missing arms or legs, etc. There's never any reason to poke fun of that or even to comment on it.

I won't extend that to fatness because it's a completely changeable situation which requires discipline and hard work. It's also unhealthy and leads to so many gross self-created diseases and increases risks even for things like cancer. It has a global and economic impact too as obesity leads to much higher heath costs and increased health insurance premiums. It isn't just the fat person who faces the effects - all of society does.

I'm not sure about India but my perspective is based on living in America where there is a significant portion of people who get fat and then disabled from their fatness and then get government assistance to help pay their rent and buy their food and take care of the huge amounts they spend on their health issues - all paid by the taxpayers who actually work and take care of themselves. There are also the "smaller" fat people who are not in the disabled category yet but also use up a lot more heath services than normal thin people because it *is* unhealthy and leads to problems especially with age.

And yes, it's unattractive too. It's not that I would make any comments to random people but making comments about celebrities? Hell yeah! They don't get tired of hearing millions of comments about how hot and gorgeous and beautiful they are but start shouting about being "fatshamed" when they face some negativity. When your whole profession revolves around making money off your looks and body and appearing on magazine covers and even giving other people advice about your "diets" and "gym schedules,' everyone has a right to talk when you don't even look good.

Btw, nobody is entitled to be considered beautiful. I know this "everyone is beautiful" stuff is all the rage now but everyone really isn't beautiful. That's just the reality of the world. You cannot force people to consider you beautiful by coming at them with pitchforks if they don't like a particular body type. Just take a look at places like tumblr and you will see what I mean.

I don't understand why do people get so offended for pointing out the obvious unless you are being super mean about it. If someone is thin obviously you will say they look thin, if someone is fat obviously you will say they are fat...how else do you describe body type if the need arises. :/

But yes saying someone is fat then making jokes about it that is not good. Anyway, I like people who have a thick skin, even mock their own facial features and can take a joke.
If your height is short then you are short, it is a way to describe your features but it does not define you. That's what I've learned.

About celebs i think its fine within some limits calling them for how bad they look or how fat or thin they are is ok but if you're going to be obsessed with it and keeping commenting on it on every page even though you've made your point once loud and clear is just plain silly and pointless unless it is done for the sole reason to rile up fanbases for some reason. Even though its a visual industry the basic and most important thing people fail to comment on is the movie in of itself the characters the acting but instead you get people zooming in on celeb X and his/her face announcing how different her eyelash is looking from the other or how his hairline has shifted by half a milimeter to the left. thats just ridiculous and sad

Insulting or mocking someone's physical appearance(body) is body shaming. Fat or thin or short or too tall, if you start calling out the person with disgust for their physical appearance is body shaming. That is a bad thing and should stop.
Although personally I don't encourage fat bodies or skinny(I am quite fish bone myself) as I believe people should be fit physically. Not saying have six pack abs, but atleast have a weight which is proportionate to your height.

Trust me I will never ask anyone to do anything. I was just sharing my thoughts with u.😊 Whatever u choose for urself its perfectly fine with me.Its your opinion and u r free to share it however u want. I just believe one can still call out on celebrities without calling derogatory names. Just because I know teenagers visit this place a lot and I feel they are emotional at this stage to relate everything with their own lives.

My theory is they have help that most normal people don't and if I have to pay to look at them, why must I be subjected to fat bodies if the acting is not top notch ? I guess I am not looking at it from a different POV. Something to think about, thanks.

I hope the different POV helps. like till recently i never thought that thin girls could be body shamed. i mean whats wrong with having the ability to eat what you want and not gain weight. heaven! ... but then i realised that they too are ridiculed. its a sad world we live in.

i understand your point about actors looking a certain way esp those who can't actually act!!! ... but i think applying different standards is not so easy... like i was very meek in real life and when i discovered SNS i became pretty aggressive ... and before i realised that rudeness seeped into my real life interactions ... i finally stopped when my best friend told me that i was becoming an ass 😲

.. so my theory is very simple -> what the other person does with their body, how they look is not my concern... at all...

btw, Can i say that its incredibly brave of you to invite feedback on yourself. i don't think i could do it - i would be too scared of what people may have to say about me !

@Bold My perspective is informed by living in America too. And I can tell from unfortunate family experience even people who work out and eat healthy with no bad habits can get cancer. It's not an old people disease any more. Maria Menounos an entertainment TV anchor was diagnosed with brain cancer recently. She works out, eats healthy and she is not 40 yet. So there are environment factors that can cause too, who knows ?

@Red Yes, celebrities are fair game for me. When they make tons of money out of advertisements and give advice do I have a right to look at a fit celeb or a fat one ? Also, I am not big on celebs as role models but a fit celeb is more likely to have followers follow that. But there is a catch, BS advice like Alia and her nutritionist I don't agree with. It is a huge industry, money making industry. Diet, fitness, medicine all are huge industries, let us not fool ourselves and celebs are involved in many of it. So I think just saying celebs are body shamed blanketly if we call them fat is not something I agree with or care about about honestly. But what is how I say affect someone on a message board is something I honestly never thought about
