i have a question..is tropicana or real (packaged juice) good for our health?i do have a small glass of tropicana/real juice everyday.want to know if they have any adverse effects on our health or are they fatening?do they increase fat in our body?

Hi sweetnirali,

Yes its great for health. They are full of vitamin C. As far as I know they do not have any adverse effects on health , yes they is fat in it...but its good fat. Its fat that can be broken down by our body and used for energy. You can have 2 glasses in the morning if you like , its doesnt have too much fat . It is also natural so its easier for your body to handle.

thanks a lot for ur detailed answer,i was worried that it might not be healthy...have one more query if u can ans...can u suggest any good powder that we can take with milk like protinex,acti life,manna...i have tried these 3 but did not like their taste one bit...can u suggest some nice which does not contain fat and is also healthy?i cant drink plain milk...nor do i like bournvita and all :)

Hey sweetnirali,

I'm not entirely sure .I don't like using much protein powders because when I used to use them ...they were good, but when I stopped using them I noticed changes in my performance and strength( I used to play football for my college) . So I stopped using protein powders and now I use everything natural. And to be honest, it is much better than any powder or supplement you can buy. Supplements are only good for fast improvements , but they wont last too long. So basically the improvements will come fast and will go fast.

I love milk, I used to hate it when I was a kid, but now I understand it has a lot of benefits to it. Back in the old days , people who used to work on construction and hard labour used to drink milk because its really good for your bones. Tomorrow if you fall and break your bones, the calcium that is present in milk will help your bones regenerate and prevent yourself from breaking again. I know people who drink milk daily and have never broken their bones and even if they have , they are fully fit faster than someone who doesnt drink milk. It is especially important if you are still growing.

Anyway , sorry for the lecture. But what I used to do and I think you will enjoy too is make somewhat of a milk shake...Do you have a blender at home??

If you do , you should try this:

1. Get one glass of milk, it doesnt matter if its powder or fresh milk. Ofcourse fresh milk is better.

2. Then take one full ripe banana. You can use any fruit if you like , I like using banana's because they are sweet.

3. Then put the banana and the milk in the blender and blend till it is fine and smooth, you can add ice if you want a cool drink.

4. I like to also add nuts- cashews, almonds, walnuts, peanuts...any type of nuts. You can also add ice cream if you want...its really up to you.

5. Lastly blend it all up and drink it . The ripe fruits will make it sweet and you wont even know your drinking milk.

I like to have this drink for breakfast or after exercising. I sometimes fill it with nuts, ice cream , more fruits etc. and blend it and have it as a meal. It gets me full if I add ice cream and nuts.

I hope this was of some help. Let me know how it tasted , if you decide to try it.

Thanks a looot kevofev for ur detailed answer...i just hate milk...my bones have weakened even when am quiet young...have low calcium..so doctor has strictly asked me to start having milk or the condition may worsen...i do have banana shake sometimes but wonder if its fattening,since bananas contain lots of calories if am not mistaken :)...also i have got acti life (chocolate flavour)..not liking it either...:)

i drink banana shake or acti life at night,bed time...hope thats ok?

Listen sweetnirali, if you want your condition to get worse then don't drink milk...if you want it to get better you can take your doctor's advice and you should take my advice too.

I am not a doctor, but you should definitely take your doctors advice. Its really not very complicated...if you don't do what your supposed to...your body will suffer the consequences.
If you are really concerned about fats and all that, do 10 push-ups a day...you will burn the fats slowly. Plus the fats in banana are good, its not like you are eating 100 banana's a day. Only one or two per day.
If I were you, I would have a banana shake in the morning and actilife before going to bed EVERYDAY.

am sorry if i annoyed u :(

yes,i have started taking milk at bed time..once a day,as shake or sometimes with acti life...as my bones r weak,i find it very difficult doing any vigorous exercises bcoz then it hurts like hell...can u suggest some simple but effective work out that can be done at home,to keep the body fit and toned ?

Hope am not irritating u with my queries too much ?:)

No no no , im not annoyed at all. I'm just trying to help you , but you can only help yourself.

That's good that your having milk, try to drink more if you can. Don't do a lot of exercises if it hurts, do simple things like walking, power walking ( its just walking fast with your arms going up and down) and you can also do some stretching. Strech as often as you can , its not difficult and it shouldnt hurt. If it does hurt then , relax for sometime.

I agreed with you, powder supplement is not at all good for our health. It is better to have fresh juice everyday. Thanks, your post is informative.
