And i hope you are all ready to discuss something this week!!

I am sure most of you have heard already about the great epidemic that concerns our health these days, known as the Swine Influenza, or Swine flu.

  • This modern epidemic was shocking news to all people--young, middle-aged, poor, wealthy, elderly, it was news to all. I heard that in Mexico the public education system had shut down and many many many people died due to the spreading of this disease. Most people are afraid of this disease because it can spread so easily from one to another.

  • In fact, its the talk of my school, how is it affecting your lives?

  • Any input on this that you guys would like to share?

I know that where i live and around me its huge, but it may not me where you all live, however, either way, it is a new medical discovery...well, at least its more important now than it ever was, and its perhaps the most important thing in health studies these days.

^Thats interesting. I was informed otherwise related to the causes of swine flu, but perhaps i had been misinformed. I agree though, it is rather horrible for the children and their parents. Fortunately, there are treatments available. It truly is a pandemic.

I think you're wrong there hun😳
Swine flu isn't just spread by eating Pork. If you travel on the underground/public transport then if someone has the flu and they cough without covering their mouth or whatever, the flu can spread easily. It was in the metro a week or two ago.😉
The worst thing is the syptoms of a normal viral flu are almost exactly the same as the swine flu so people may just disregard it thinking its an ordinary virus.
And yes it is big here in the UK. Every single household in the country has been/will be sent a leaflet about it and symptoms, how to avoid etc. They even said they're planning to move it up to a level 6 disease. :O
On a side note, my friend went on the tube the other day. He starts coughing and goes 'Man I shouldn't have gone to Mexico' and voila, next stop everyone gets off.😆

yep its a big thing here in australia as well .. its everywhere in the news/media .. amazing how these things happen all of a sudden .. my heart goes out to those who are affected .. hope authorities take up serious measures so these kinds of flu/virus can be dealt with as soon as they are discovered
