Sachin Parikh: Shooting for Haunted Nights - Kaun Hai Woh? very different

TV actor Sachin Parikh, currently seen in Haunted Nights - Kaun Hai Woh?, says graphics and art work used in the supernatural show makes it different from regular TV shows.

"The shooting and all is very different from a normal show. It consumes a lot of time and also takes a toll on you. There are a lot of graphics and art work involved in the look of the show," Sachin, who has acted in shows like Na Bole Tum...Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, told.

He also says that Haunted Nights - Kaun Hai Woh? is a combination of family drama and horror, which is something that hasn't been seen before.

"I am sure people will love it as it is a combination of family drama and supernatural thriller. There are eerie things in every episode plus there is drama...never in the past has such a show been aired," he said.

There have been supernatural shows in the past which have not worked well on television. He said that the reason for their failure is they are not aired daily due to which their continuity breaks.

"Supernatural shows have not worked as they are not shown on a regular basis. They are shown on a weekly episode basis due to which people are not able to keep up with the storyline. They break that connection and the next time it comes, they have to try and remember what happened," said Sachin, who is also seen in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir.

Vishal Gandhi's fright night' Posted in Afternoon DC!

Vishal Gandhi is the new kid on the telly-block with his supernatural horror show that has managed to bring cold shivers with its spine chilling horror stories. This will now continue in a new avatar Haunted Nights - Kaun Hai Woh?' The new series with a completely new and refreshing concept and star cast will be aired from Monday, August 26 at 10 pm on Sahara One. Sandeep Hattangadi spoke to the handsome Vishal about his new show. Here are some excerpts:

Your background?
I am from Mumbai and have learnt acting from the Kishore Namit Kapoor School of Acting.

Disappointed to bag a horror suspense show?
Not really, because such shows have their devoted audience and even the first part of the series did very well.

Your character in the show?
The show embodies the concept of the battle between good and evil. The story revolves around the lives of two people, Kunal, played by me and Bhakti played by Jyotsna Chandola, who are brought together by destiny but have to go through various ordeals till they are united forever. Kunal belongs to the wealthy Devraj family and is in love with his childhood love Vishaka (Vrinda Dawda). His grandmother, Bhawaani Maa is the chieftain of the family and a stern believer of dark forces. She manipulates the family to carry out her evil practices and gets Kunal married to innocent Bhakti, to fulfill a specific motive. Kunal is the carrier of Kalka or the Devil and Bhakti is the epitome of goodness and purity.

How is it like shooting for the show?
Oh! The team is very good and we work hard on the show and I am sure the final results will be appreciated by the viewers.

Do you fancy horror suspense shows?
Yes. I remember when I was a child, this popular TV show Zee horror show frightened me a lot but the show was well made and I liked it a lot.

And horror movies?
Recently, I saw The Conjuring' and liked it and even the first Haunted Nights' was a good series.

And the quintessential Hindi Ramsay films?
Sorry! But I found those films funny.

Are you game for other shows too?
Yes. But in soap dramas the drama gets over by the 50th episode and then it becomes very uninteresting. But I would like to do reality shows and anchor shows.

How about films?
Yes! Who wouldn't like to work in films? But I am prepared to wait for good offers and am in no hurry.

A sensible young man, we must say!
