Kashif Khan
TV actor
"Kate Winslet is my favourite actress. I like her Madhubala kind of looks."
Anu > You have replaced a popular actor like Arjun Punj in the character of 'Raj' for the serial Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki . How has it been? Do you feel the intense competition? Do you think people will accept you in his place?
Kashif Khan > I am trying my best to live up to viewers' expectations. I am not excited about being replaced. Since I have got a chance to work with a major banner, I am going to live up to the viewers' expectations, which is my priority.
Manu > Why did Arjun go out of the show and how did you get in?
Kashif Khan > I don't know why he went out. I got in through a screen test. Producers liked my work. I received a call from the production house. They got my contact because 3-4 months back I had met and left my pictures with them. So, that's how they came to know about me.
Sweety > You did some modelling before like small press shoots. Will you continue modelling?
Kashif Khan > If something good comes my way, I will take it up. Right now, I am not doing any modelling.
Anu > Did you come to India only to model or to act?
Kashif Khan > I came here to do a diploma course in travel and tourism. But, internally, I wanted to be an actor and thought to myself I could do a good job of it. As luck would have it, this role came my way.
Qwr34 > Did you ever think that you would become an actor?
Kashif Khan > Like I said before, internally I had an inkling, but I didn't know that I'd get such a major break in acting, so soon.
Wrwmkfan > Did you face any difficulty when you first joined Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki, in place of Arjun?
Kashif Khan > None whatsoever. My creative heads had narrated to me about the story (that happened till then) and the about the character of Raj. So, I was sure about the character. On the first day of shoot, it was good. My senior actors made me feel comfortable. My producer was present on the set. I have never been camera shy. Even at home I would tell my brother to film me with a handy cam. So, my hesitation in front of camera was never present.
Gigs > What other TV serials are you doing?
Kashif Khan > I am not doing any other serial this year. Various channels have approached me but right now, I am only concentrating on Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki. This is my first major break and I want to give it my hundred percent. I am not taking any other show right now.
Nisha4joy > Where do you want to see yourself - movies or TV, in the coming years?
Kashif Khan > Haven't thought about it. For now, I want to see myself being recognised in my present job first. I am 23 and have a long way to go. It would be a good achievement for me if I were recognised in this first job of mine. The rest... we shall see!
Nisha4joy > Hi! How are you? You are really a brilliant actor. You have a cute smile. Do you have a girlfriend?
Kashif Khan > Thank you very much. I have friends but there's no one special right now. I do have very good and close friends.
Nisha4joy > Where do you stay? Can you tell me about your family? What is your future plan?
Kashif Khan > Presently, my family lives in Bahrain (my dad has a construction business over there). My dad is a civil engineer and I've spent my childhood in the Gulfs. I was born in Bhopal (in Madhya Pradesh, India). And when I was four months old, my family moved to Dahraan (Bahrain). I lived in Dubai too for a while. About one-and-a-half year back I came to Mumbai. I may have lived in so many places outside India but I am an Indian. I didn't forget the Hindi and Urdu languages; I speak the two languages fluently.
Criticalfriend > Why do you think you can be successful as an actor?
Kashif Khan > I leave that to my viewers to answer. I just try to be natural. I haven't trained in acting. Let the viewers decide.
Vani > What expectations do you have from your character of Raj? Will he prove to be your lucky charm?
Kashif Khan > Why not? It's my first major break and I think 'he' will prove to be my lucky charm. I know that the viewers compare my face with Salman Khan. I read about it on Internet! I take that as a compliment because I am being compared to a good-looking man! Isn't that something? But to tell you the truth, Salman is far above me; resemblance with him is fine but there's no comparison. He is much above me.
Priya > Hi Kashif! How are you? Please could you give me you email id? Do you write mails to your fans?
Kashif Khan > Email id is
[email protected], will surely reply to my fans.
Arvbwn > How far are you from your destination point?
Kashif Khan > For me, sky is the limit. Destination will be limiting me. There is no limit for me. I will continue to go on. I believe to set one goal, achieve it and then, move on to another goal in life.
Sumi > Where are you basically from? When is your birthday?
Kashif Khan > Please read above for the first query. My birthday is on June 15.
Priya > Who are your favourite actor and actresses? Anyone you look up to? Who is you favourite co-star?
Kashif Khan > Favorite costar β all of them. My co-star Reena is very good, as also all my senior actors from Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki. I get to learn new things from them every day. Favourite actor - in Hollywood it is Sylvester Stallon and in Bollywood - Salman bhai ! Favourite actress is Kate Winslet. I like her Madhubala kind of looks. Among Indian actresses - all are okay.
Dude > What according to you is the most important thing a person needs to get into acting?
Kashif Khan > Most important thing required to get into acting is to be a good human being. One doesn't need to go through acting course etc, that will polish his skills, but one must be a good person.
Dude > Why did you choose acting as a career? How did you get into this line, and if not an actor what would you be?
Kashif Khan > If not an actor, may be I would have joined my dad's business or open a travel agency in the Gulfs. I love to travel.
Man11 > Tell us about the off screen Kashif Khan?
Kashif Khan > Very chilled out. I believe in listening more than talking. I am confident, cool and composed. I like to work out (I am a fitness freak!), like meeting people, like music and love to travel.
