Hey guys...

Silent member of the forum...

There are so many things in this new story of HJ which I have been pondering over a) Yes Ishu is a compulsive liar... Whenever there is NO reason to lie => She lies... Why does she do that? Having a "evil" mother who is just a shame..., a grandma who is biased and then her cousin, whom she always is compared to ... All leads to => survival...

I am NOT justifying her, but I see reasons behind it! One could argument that Mahi has lost both her parents, but we have to keep in mind that two kids are not the same...

And then there is Ishu's grandma being biased all the time... Today, this sentence of her "When did u start looking beautiful," - even though this is light, BUT it is discouraging... Everyone is born beautiful because it is said that BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER! I am so pissed over it!

ANd last but NOT at least, Just do not get SD... But again, I think it is one of those things, which is so common in the society! It is common practice to chose one over the other! The consequence of this on the household are often fatal! Un-named enemity between girls because of knowing who is the winner and loser in the lottery!

Lovely post Abids!!!
Yes for Ishu it has been Survival of the fittest right from childhood. Dadi's comparision is really biased. I hated the whole thing today. Everything was shady and dodgy. Its bad enough that they are stifling Ishu's career choices, taunting her and hiding her from prospective grooms for Mahi. Its worse that Sahil is being kept in dark about his own marraige. That too knowing that he has a girl in his life.
Ishu is doing what anyone does in her situation. Fighting her own battles through in the way which she sees right. No one can judge her at least not her elders they are worst manipulators and she is an outcome of their deeds.
They are creating a situation where she will have to make tough choices and whatever choice she makes she will again be bashed.
If she chooses her career she will be called a selfish lover.
If she chooses Sahil, she will be called a selfish, jealous and a mean sister.
Actually I am okay with both the options.😃

I do not think it is selfish...

I have never understood why two people who love eachother has to sacrifice to make ONE person happy and destroy three lives... I mean come on - can't we have one serial which is based on something else than this type of "crap"

But for me HJ has taken some REAL LIFE up if we only could discuss that and change our community because each change starts with ourselves. No matter if it is Mahi or Ishu, It is not fair for none of them to have biased people around them!

The show is from the beginning based on how elders use their offspring for their dreams and goals. As kids the girls were manipulated by greedy parents and as youth they are surrounded by judgemental, opinionated grand moms. result is same. Disaster, havoc and disharmony.
I like the concept but it is not well balanced between the sisters. I want the CVs to correct it.

Same here... I want Mahi to be as eager for the career as Ishu, so muqabla barabar ka ho...

If it continues this way... Ishu will always come out being the "bad girl"

Mahi has a career she is happy with. Looking after the shop. Ishu is not interested but they are forcing it on her. Thats where the inequality is. She has to do something what she likes by hiding it from her family and thats why she is the BAD girl, LAZY girl, IRRESPONSIBLE girl.

here is my analysis of every character so far on the show :

1. Mahi and Ishu - both the girls lost their childhood, and supposedly lost more after the death of their parents( okay, Ishu's mom is alive), but Ishu lost way more than Mahi thanks to her mom from a very young age.

Ironic thing is Ishu is also the one right now who is way more childish. That would explain most of her traits, like why she lies everytime even when there is no reason. She is like a kid, a good kid (otherwise she wouldn't have gone to meet Sahil's dadi in the first place) who wants all the toys, loves her near ones and cares about them but still would refuse to share her things and plans with them, and most importantly want to get loved by them. She cannot stand if one of them gets upset with her, she will lie, will blackmail them emotionally if needed but would win him/her back without even feeling sorry.

OTOH Mahi was raised in a different upbringing, she enjoyed her childhood but in a different way, she didn't have even TV in her house, and her father was very strict with her relating to her studies, though not to the extent like Ishu's mom. I believe she lost her innocence way too early and became a mature and caring girl from a very young age.
My only complaint with her character is she should think something more other than marriage.

2. Sahil - loves Ishu no doubt, but I believe he also somewhat doubts about Ishu's love towards him. But despite that, based on how he has been shown so far, I believe he will always be with Ishu until something happens drastically, like Ishu doing something evil to his grandma lol, coz his grandma is also very big priority in his life.

3. Ishu's mom -perhaps was the definition of evil lol, but has eased now somewhat, which is expected since she is not living in her own house but instead has to live with Mahi and dadi in their house. Just shudder to think what she would have done to both of them (and maybe to her own daughter) if it was the other way.

4. Dadi - I would totally and 100% disagree with anyone who says that dadi is biased against Ishu. Having watched this show right from the episode 1, i would say that is definitely not the case. She loves both her granddaughters equally.

Dadi used to live with Mahi and her parents from the beginning not with Ishu, yet in the very first episode of the show she told Mahi that she has equal love for both her granddaughters. She was always portrayed as talking very highly of Ishu and instilling love for her sister in Mahi, even when the 2 girls hardly knew each other. In fact, I believe she is the main reason why Mahi loves Ishu so much.

Though she is over-protective of her granddaughters which I don't like personally, but that is understandable as supposedly she would have gone through most hardships in the upbringing of kids coz I don't believe Ishu's mom would have played a bigger role in that.

5. SD - strong and tough lady, also self-righteous it seems. Other than that, too early to pass a judgement. I think she should have given Ishu atleast a chance for her actions, but one could argue that Ishu also has yet to apologise.

lol, didn't realize my post has gone that big😲, i m a very talkative girl😃...

@Bellie,

I disagree... The dadi is biased! The way she treats Mahi and Ishu... If that is not biased then I must admit, I do not know what bias means!

Abids -- lovely post!
Yes, I agree -- I don't understand SD. Especially after yesterday's epi, how can she simply announce to her nephew that she's chosen his life-partner for him - especially when she knows he loves someone else.
Setting up a meeting between Mahi and Sahil is ok, but pushing ahead like this?????!
am not liking the way they are developing the story...it seems so black and white and the contrasts and misunderstandings so so obvious.
Ishu-Mahi's dadi is also so very biased. It is as if she never really sees beneath the surface and never probes why her grand daughter is the way she is.
Ishu is complex -- she lies, yes; she's ambitious yes; and has a veil of supposed fame and success before her eyes, yes; but I have been struck by how despite her nataks and half-truths, she does stick to some semblance of truth at some level. She could have taken a much more "evil" turn with her sister, dadi etc, but she did not (like the watch scene with dadi and telling Mahi about Sahil etc). Yes, she loves herself more than anyone else, but she does love others too...
Wish they had explored the grey shades more -- rather than make judgements about beauty and ambition and who is right and who is wrong in such a narrow way.
and wish they had built up things in such a way that the viewers too would find it hard to categorically put people in "good" or "bad" boxes...life isn't like that! And also wish they had set things up to show how people evolve and grow and change.
They still might, but I'm not holding my breath...

Lovely post Minu,, fully agree with you..
Categorizing people as good and bad in the serial is annoying.. No person is perfect and no life is perfect..
Ishu likes to dress up (she did dress up mahi too), she loves herself(she loves others too), she has dreams (and ambitions). and she lies(mostly harmless)..
she is categorized as bad and the good is always hidden in the parenthesis, not visible to anyone around her, especially her dadi..
