We've had a number of episodes now that are revealing for us what Ishu is really like. I must say I am loving Ishu and *especially* the way Neha is playing that role.
In yesterday's epi I just loved Ishu's honesty. I loved that she told dadi the truth about the watch -- even if she didn't tell her everything nor mention the name of her 'dost'-- still she didn't make up a story about winning it in a prize or anything else.
Loved also the way she reacted when she found Mahi with the phone and when mahi confronted her about Sahil. If Ishus was merely the "evil sister" she'd have yelled at Mahi and been obnoxious about it. But the way our Neha acted it out, and of course the way the CVs' have written this role, we saw instead a melting of Ishu (after a brief initial disappointment at being discovered...) and she did tell Mahi the truth! That was just lovely. It was layered, it showed so many things -
it showed that she does care a lot for Mahi; she does value Sahil, but this love is young yet -- a girl's dreamy love for a boyfriend, not yet a woman's love for a life-long partner (Ishu after all is very much a girl still!).
She hasn't given the relationship or marriage her full thought yet...it takes second place to her career... and understandably! The career - marriage juggling is pretty believable and I like that she wants a career...
(Isn't it striking how young Isha (Neha) looks -- can't really imagine her married at this point!
Later I liked that she did go an meet Sahil's dadi...even if she first played around with Sahil (whom she does take for granted a lot, at least for now)...and was respectful...
Lets see how this evolves...I am so glad Neha is playing Isha ... it is a really rich role and she's so perfect for it, especially in bringing out her character's innocence and child-like, carefree heart.
Wishing Neha all success!!
