Kesar-Gulaal Confrontation- pls explain !!

hi friends,

i wanted to discuss this particular confrontation scene...i wanted more insight into this...

i know we have discussed many times all these scenes. but still i have this feeling i have not understood the scene in totality

this is the confronatation scene after talli makes kesar realise his mistake of forcing gulaal to love him back..it is the point when kesar realized what a big crime he was doing ...

i thought kesar will come and explain gulaal abt his mistake or something like that..

i never see it coming the things he said to her..yes he strikes at the correct chord there..someone had to tell this to gulaal..but what i want to know is the thing which was not shown..the transformation of kesar into giving such insightful words to her..

i mean whatever he was said it was only n only focussed about gulaal..he says it also while entering the room...somewhere i want to know how he reached that thinking stage..

he even says about her zaroorate..her being widow is not a her fault..i mean it was all with respect to gulaal when in fact all he realised was that he was doing wrong to her..but talking to her in terms of the misery whcih gulaal is giving to herself was something big coming from kesar...

someone explain me that gap of thoughts.. like how he got such a big enlightenment...when what talli said was some thing very simple in comparison...i know they showed him burning in deep thougths walking in the rain..but still i am not fully grasping it..basically i wanna know how he said what he said ..and how he dint say what he should have said .😆..the things which he explained was like showing mirror to her..and i loved that it was kesar who said this to her..but

i want to know all the implications of this scene...i want to understand the scene like from A to Z

Neilu first of all thanks for posting this scene..Though Discussed endlessly ,yet its still afresh in my mind.One of those rare scenes where Kesar is so bang on with his words...
The way Gulaal actually reacts to all his words clearly suggests how he was right ,how he knew she was denying herself the rights of a woman in disguise of her fierce loyalty towards her dead husband in the name of his dreams...If you see Gulaaal's defiance and her reactions are just trying to escape his words trying to re-inforce her devotion but those words she knew were actually spoke her heart ,the heart which peeped occasionally from her hard mask in vulnerable scenes like the imli scene..
Now coming to your question Neilu..Well this enlightenment was not sudden..If you go back and watch some previous episodes ..Kesar in the mandir too speaks such words like-- "Usne apne aap ko bandh k rakah hai..Usne aapne a as paas vaasnt bha k naam ka dayara bana rakha hai..."

So these words which Kesar spoke were always there with him but the only difference came in his way of speaking it out to her..THose momenst with Talli and then his contemplation in the rain gave him a new decision ,a decision to free her and Neilu when one loses that fear of Losing ,he overcame,e his greatest fear of losing her,so that renewed sense of confidence ,a mature Kesar emerged .Actually his out of the blue conversation looks ajeeb coz it was a half conversationa s the rest he spoke in the panchayat scene where he admits his mistake and says that he was wrong in forcing a relationship..So this conversation was in bits and he actually spoke only their private bits in front of her that night...SIGH THAT WAS ONE MINDBLOWING SCENE..I could see Gullu's defiance and vulnerability in the same frame..Some brilliant piece of acting by Manasi and Neil...
Also the last thing she says -- bas kar warna main...
Then KESAR reacts ..warna kya dhamki mat de...mujhe jo kehna tha keh diya baki ka I will say in panchayat..
This whole piece suggests how he has overcome hsi own insecurities ,his own needs and its only when you overcome your own fears and insecurities a new sense of maturity gets in you and you speak your heart and mind without fear ,convincingly without mincing any words...hope that makes sense😆

Hey neilu . .nice question . .i would not be able to type a long essay but short mei samjhati hun . . .i think when he ws walking back in rain he ws thinking about all the pain he has given to her by his forced pati wala avatar . . .so by the time he reached house he had decided that he will break the unwanted deeyarvattu which is paining gulaal so much . . .now he knew ki gulaal ke upar se uska pati wala haq khatm ho jayega . . .he will no longer have the haq of a husband to make her aware what she is lacking in her life . . .toh jo baatien woh deeyarwatu ke bane rahane par use dhire dhire samajhata wahi baat woh deeyarwattu todne se pehele ek hi baar mei samjha gaya . . .he thought that since he is leaving her he should tell her what is she doing with herself . .knocking some sense into her . . .it is his RESPONSIBILITY as her husband . . .yeh bilkul waisa hi hai jaise a wife is going to her parents' house leaving her husban alone but jaane se pehele woh hubby ko ache se samjha deti hai ki uske kapade kaha hai, khana kaha hai, medicines kab lena hai coz jab woh thi toh pati ko in sab ke baare mei sochane ki jaroorat nahi hoti thi but since she is leaving it's her duty to inform him about them coz ab pati ko apna khayal khud hi rakhana hoga . . .so kesar made her see the stark truth of her life coz he knew that now she will have to take care of all this HERSELF. . .coz he is not going to be there with her to take care of these things for her . . .though i think kesar ka yeh enlightement thoda unconscious level par hua but the path is the same . . .a hubby before leaving his wife making her realize of her loop holes coz she has to take care of them now . .infact i think kesar must be thinking 'chalo jaane se pehele ise yeh toh bata doo ki yeh apne saath kar kya rahi hai' . . .aur jitna kesar gulaal ko jaanata hai uske akelepan ki baat toh kesar se kabhi chipi hi nahi . .yeh baat uske mann mei humesha se thi . .isme enlightenment wali baat hi nahi hai . . .use woh idea achanak nahi aaya tha . . .bus jo kaam woh dhire dhire karne wala tha wahi achanak kar gaya coz situation hi aisi thi . . .uske paas sirf raat tak ka time tha kal woh apna haq khone jaa raha tha . . . Toh usne decide kiya ki gulaal ko sabse jaroori baat bataye . . .let me give another example jaise hum exam mei paper solve karte hai aur time nahi reheta toh we focus on writing crucial points of ans and be done with it . . .similarly jab earthquake aata hai toh we save our life not our t.v. . . .so it's like first thing first . .so gulaal ke case mei sabse jaroori tha use woh truth batana jise woh muh mod kar baithi thi . . .aur kesar yeh truth humesha se janata tha . . .now did i made any sense . .😆

@piu : thanks for the explanation...i do realise that it was not sudden enlightenment..but i felt he told her veyr heavy duty words..which i was wondering why he did that at that point of time..

and u explained very well how he came out of his insecurties..its coz of that without fear he could show mirror to gulaal...

i understand the scene better now ..thanks yaar🤗

what a perfect explanation u gave..that is exactly what i wanted to know like why such a big advice at that time...

u nailed it pinky..now it all make sense to me..i never thought it that way..u r right at that point of time he has decided he will be giving freedom to her..so he tells her the most imp thing ..coz now she has to take care of her ownself..now everything is crystal clear to me eee happy :)
