Statuatory warning: I am going to go on a long rant.
I have been watching this show from the begining and following this forum, I have seen some posts here and in hotstar, which say this show is a bad influence cause it shows attrocities on women. But sorry to break your bubble, these attrocities do really exists in interiors of India, and keeping mum about them will promote them. This show has brought it on main screen its not the first, I remember a show called phir subah hogi, Udaan started with similar plots, but keeping aside all these, this show has some deep layered characters.

Rangeela, the Ghulaam, a man who is both submissive and headstrong. His character is very well designed I will say, he is shown as a spineless blind follower, exactly how a slave should be. He is also a case of psychological study, he shows signs of Stockholm syndrome, a psychological condition where a prisoner bonds with his/her captor in fear of losing complete control. Similarly Rangeela loves the Haveli as though his home, loves Veer as his god, holds on to him cuz he is the closest to family he has ever known. But there is another facet of his character, the headstrong goood guy, someone who has knowledge of right and wrong but that Rangeela is suppressed behind the Ghulam

Veer, I can go on and on about his complex nature and by the way someone pls give Vikas an oscar for the portrayal. He is rude, dominating and cruel. There is always a subdued anger about him, he is menacing and he is irritating. The way he treats everyone makes you wish you could kill him. But there is also an impulsive Veer who orders Rangeela to be hanged to show his power. He immediately regrets it and wants to call it off. He is also naive and can be manipulated easily, for example Jageer convinces him to kill Rangeela. He also unknown to himself cares for Rangeela, This shown when Veer makes Rangeela promise not to kill himself ever, that too in a condition where Veer would have killed any other person. Veer in my opinion is capabe of love, but has never been taught what it is.

And how can I forget Manmeet. The drug addict brother. And a character who comes across strikingly in the mayhem. Married to the battered and bruised and mumed Rashmi. Rashmi a girl who was kidnapped, saw her lover getting killed, got her tongue burned and was married off to a drug addict. But this drug addict turns out to be one of the best men of Berehempur. In a place where women are objects, he treats her like human. Their love story is something I want to see. Manmeet has done what a companion should do, from protecting her, to inspiring her to speak to consoling her. The way they are becoming each others strength is delightful. She tries to get rid of hsi drugs and tries to make her speak, a partnership based on understanding and mutual respect.

Now let me come to the downside, and it is the Shivani track. I am sorry but she irritates me. Yes she has done well, so far in saving herself from Veer. But when Rangeela made way for her escape why did she comeback. That was the most illogical and impractical thing. I am sorry but this ruined the character. Pls stop her Pati Parmeshwar ranting.

At this point this show has two good fortes, one is the RanVeer bonding and another is Manmeet Rashmi track. Pls CV's if you bring a change of heart in Veer, please dont show it is due to Shivani, because the only person who has the right and the ability to change, destroe or kill Veer is Rangeela. This show can have many good endings, first Veer bieng killed by Rangeela and Rangeela setting up an empowered berehempur, or Shivani and Rangeela going off together to start a new life and Veer becoming the tragic hero and letting go of them to redeem himself. Or Both Veer and Rangeela, dying or going away to start a new life while Manmeet starts the free empowered and developed Berehempur. Only one request to CV's Pls dont turn this into a typical love triangle and pls bring some realism in Shivani's character.

I like how you describe each character and I'm meeting everyone, just not describing Shivani

It is good that we do not have all the same opinion, otherwise they had no comment.😆

A woman when she loves her unconditionally, she gives everything for the beloved, to the last breath, such a Shivani.
That's why she returned to B'pur, by her husband, Rangeela, her part of love, among the litter of a snake, but she has no fear.
What she's doing, she'll do it!
This is her return I understand, I just do not think that love is not mutual, but it will be soon ..., Shivani does not put things halfway ...

Ghulam show, showing brutality towards the woman, who in reality exists, sadness, but also shows how women can be in this rough and embarrassing world, to choose for themselves for their goals.

I agree with your entire post, especially this part. Shivani's character is SO poorly written, so monochromatic! And who asked you to come back girl? Ab marr Veer ke haath se, kitni baar bachaega Rangeela 😡 Really fed up with this character. Unrealistically chhui-mui 🤢

You've penned it down so beautiful.. Agree with you with each n every point regarding the characters..
Rangeela was brought up by Sarkar to be Fearless in the world but Spineless before them.. Specially him n Veer..
They had saved him n his mother... He worships them..
His love for his Malik n Sarkar is too deep than his so called wife who according to him is his Maalkin ..
Veer similarly possess same kind of deep love only for Rangeela and no one.. Their story of love hatred and rebel is the real story of the show..
RashMeet are definitely growing up into a beautiful couple gradually.. They have developed an understanding n caring for each other..
No comments for Shivani as she is the most poor character in the show.. She is not brave.. She is only promoting wrong messages with her Pati Japp..
Rangeela is someone who is supposed to bring the change in B'Pur n Veer would definitely not like the idea... That would be a great RanVeer tashan to watch

Without Shivani, Rangeela is a lost soul who is unable to lead a normal life because he is taught to be a private Ghulam machine.
Sarkar and his family took him away, right to a normal life with a father and a mother, as a little kid took care of the mother and three halves, and where did that Rangeela be?

There is no one, there is only Ghulam!

Shivani is the one who will point out that there is Rangeela who has all the other rights to feelings and normal life, and Ghulam will send in history.

The only character that Shivani has best developed is not clear to me why you claim so many things?🤔

Beautifully written.. lovely post..
You described all the leads beautifully..But sorry to differ from you in some points..

I think I am the only one who is quite happy about the come back of Shivani.. I feel only Shivani and Rangeela can bring changes in B'pur..

Both are relieved from B'pur.. but they both returned to haveli..

Shivani's ' pati bhakthi' is not dangerous..It making her strong day by day..I appreciate her guts to enter into lions Den once again
butRangeela's 'malik Bhakti' is dangerous
He never allowed indian commandos to capture the haveli.. He brought many girls to B'pur without their consent to haveli including Manju bhabhi..Even now he is ready to bring new girl for his Malik.. If the new girl fails in virginity test they will kill her and Rangeela will bring one more girl... This will continue.. someone should stop all these nonsense and bring changes in the system

Rangeela is still under Ghulaami..He has to come out from Ghulaami.. without Rangeela ,Sarkar and family is nothing ...

If Shivani stays outside B'pur who will bring changes in Rangeela's mind set?? Marriage is not a Game and girls are not toys... Rangeela married Shivani so it is his responsibility to stand by her side and take care of her.. CV 's can't show whenever a man wants to marry a girl they can marry and whenever they wants to relieve they can relieve..Girls have brain heart and their own wishes.. girls should be treated equally..

From the beginning Shivani tried to help others.. she tried to rescue Rashmi, she donated her blood to Balam she saved Rangeela's life from army officer, ATOM and Veer.. even after hitting veer she tried to save him.. if she stays outside B'pur and doesn't care about Rangeela, Rashmi and other girls it will be out of her character.. so I very much expected her come back..

Delhi based brave girl Rashmi is not trying to escape..And Maldawaali is also not ready to discuss about her husband's weakness with Gulguli.. so that to some extent Maldawaali can escape from Gulguli's 'waaris' torture.. I really like Shivani's stubbornness, and bravery..

Hope Shivani and Rangeela together bring changes B'pur's system.. (wish one of the daughter in law's should successfully give birth to a girl child.)..

Very nice main post..nicely described all the characters👏 in depth😳

@shivathri..true what u said👏
Actually all of us need something to hold on in life..like Rangeela's motivation in life is his Maliks order..for Shivani it is her husband's..Both have their own paths which is consistent till now..But difference is in outcome..The path which will lead to freedom nd good for majority in Bpur will be favoured by Destiny..thats the rule of life..Rangeela is a lost soul without his malik till now as we have seen..but things will change..he will try to see things beyond his nose..Like Balam said everybody's presence is for some reason and Shivani is there for some reason in his life..even if he is not able to love her , at least he is trying to see things frm her point of view..thats a welcome change..If Shivani is not returning, cycle will repeat..Everyone will see that things are different..just like Sarkar has accepted Shivani( for whatever reason..nd mind you that he was more humiliated than Veer..but he has started to soften nd view things more rationally..he knew very well Rangeela is his offspring before also..but started to give him actual respect just now)
So all will change eventually..whatever or whoever be the reason..

One thing I would additionally like to say..the background Shivani comes from..a very small town girl with little education..Even if she returns to Sambhar..would she be accepted by her society there? There are instances that women after separation or divorce are further humiliated in their own surroundings..even if parents accept..Her mamaji loves her, will her mamiji do so? So when she feels that there is slightest chance of reuniting with her real husband, she decided to return. After divorce also by law a girl has full rights of staying in her husband's house..even if they do not sleep/ stay in same room..so her returning might be illogical frm some point of view but for your rights, if you have guts, for livelihood you can definitely come back..it happens actually.

Nice Post Each Character is Very Well Written👏 Except Shivani her character is not irritating aisi bhi girls hoti hain but the way she changed herself from Miss Ronto to Miss Fighter is superb I really like the way she save rangeela from Phansii that scene was awsome & now also Shivani's come back is good Bcuz I Want Rangeela to Realized Shivani is his Wife & his Responsibilty She Sacfirced alot for him now it his turn to take a step & fight for her My Most Fav Character is RANGEELA Jis ke Character Mein Saarey Rang hain jo kabhi Ghulami se Bahir nahi nikalte but Shivani is the only character who can make him realized that aur wo din durr nahi 😉

I love your post.
You conveyed your point of view very well. Nicely written!

I like Veer the best because I do not understand his character, he is confused and has so many layers thats its always interesting to see his reaction to things.

You have put it perfectly, when you said "he is capable of love but perhaps does not know how to (perhaps a lack of experience). I too believe that maybe there is a lot of potential for him to be a good person but he has never given himself a chance or nor did anyone else expect him to be a nice person. So he is stuck in this cruel persona.

Thank you for taking the time out to post on here.

Ps I also wish that the creative team works on Shivani's character. Maybe invest time to develop her role and presence in the show.
