I guess my issue with this show is not something that can be worked on. There have been far too many shows like this and by the same team i might add.

How I wish!
But point here is they sell what audiences buy. These gimmicks, spice ups and dramatization is what majority of audiences like. There are people who love to watch sheer content but then they are not 'TV people'. They don't spare time to contribute to ratings. And those who do, they are being served what they like.
Tested trends are being repeated in different packaging and audiences buy that. This cycle won't end anytime soon. TRP toppers are enough to tell.

Which is also sad that it says soo much about what generally public like and like you said trp toppers indian tv is soon going on a downward slide. I mean technically it has been for soo long. I miss watching tv shows but given the content its really very hard to keep watching add to it how on other platforms and many shows from other countries have actually been soo good and content driven. Off course no matter how much of an art oriented proffesion this is its business nonetheless as you said what people buy will be sold and likes of st gul ekta have simply stereotyped indian tv

Dishuuu!! πŸ€—

How I've missed you and your behena on my posts!

@Red, Ok, coming to your comment, nope. I disagree. Let's rewind the clock a couple of years back- we had plenty of good shows to say otherwise. Biggest example being our once-mutual favourite show- KY2!

Even before that, EHT was pretty good! Look at the shows that came out in 2016- P.O.W, Beyhadh, KRPKAB- to name a few. I might not have watched all of them but I know how they were, their stories etc.

So I really cannot say that I was expecting too much from an Indian show- maybe from an ST show. πŸ˜†

But I sincerely felt that casting Param and Niti was his way of showing ki woh sudhar gaya hain...my bad. πŸ˜†

Talking about Shivani, I never said she's out of character- just very uninteresting. πŸ€”

Even if I forget about self-respect and her values, it's what I've mentioned about context that's annoying me. When you're writing a scene with loads of glycerin, there needs to be context which has the power to make it heart-breaking instead of annoying!

Remember the first break up from KY2? Or the "we're toxic for each other"? Nandu cried for a good two weeks in each and yet, instead of shouting our lungs out to the CVs to stop it, we were busy writing essays on how it is necessary and how it's completely well-placed.

That's the power of script! It makes or breaks a character and a show!

Rangeela is looking pretty hopeless right now so I can't comment on him unless he does something extraordinary to shake me out of my apathy. πŸ˜†

P.S- Apologies for the late reply. I was out of town.

ShelluπŸ€—
How was the trip?

Shellu.. I am not talking about youth shows! I am talking about daily soaps! Youth shows don't get trps that's why I didn't include them while generalizing plus youth shows are on down hill in way that production houses and channel don't want to invest in same! Well that is a different topic.
What is EHT!? I am sorry I don't know! πŸ˜•Yeah I agree different shows are made like POW (I won't include Beyadh as I don't like content of the show - I don't know I couldn't connect to the show and KRPKAB - I didn't follow the show but I watched it in bit and pieces! The show had such potential and I liked the concept so much but after a point it got ruined thanks to trp gimmicks! It became altogether a different thing!) POW is a wonderful show though I didn't follow but it couldn't gather Trps as expectations thanks to small section of audiences for such shows and absence of trp attracting gimmicks! I was talking about 90% of daily soaps!
I never expected Ghulaam to be different in this way as above shows as I knew who was producing it! The producer brings different concepts but won't try to compromise on trp which is justifiable too from business point of view! Look at star plus, from 7:30 to 9 pm, all slots belong to ekta shows, then from 10 to 11, it is Gul khan! POW is getting replaced! ( I find ST better than these two)πŸ˜† This is scenario of star plus and colors toh -let's not talk about that channel! That channel telecasts sheer nonsense! This is khasta halat of two big channels!

Coming to Shivani, Shellu we can't compare Nandini and Shivani as both are way too different characters same as we can't expect youth show stuff from daily soap!
Shiavni' s crying comes from her basic trait as I explained earlier! Every character is different with different innate traits so as Shivani and crying is something which comes quickly to her so I think we can't complaint about the basic traits because if writer even tries to change this thing, that would be the murder of her characteristics! With time, her crying would reduce as Shivani would get habitual of this negativity surrounding her! Here also we can easily separate her emotional let outs and we would find all context there! In KYY, emotional burst outs were situation driven. That goes to story telling. We can say execution was way too better, hence we felt all those emotions what Nandini went through. Here more than let out, it's Shivani's characteristic how her immediate response to a situation is crying. Failure in execution by other aspects might not communicate the impact well. Atrocities of town are well spoon fed but it has failed to stir the insides of audiences. Maybe that is where the problem lies. Concluding it, Nandini and Shivani are poles apart. And both are beautiful in their own ways. How one relates to either of them is totally one's call. It surely isn't necessary that everyone would relate to Shivani.
Rangeela - even I don't want to comment about him! πŸ˜†
