I absolutely hate people who make me break my promises and jump into a loop that I would otherwise be not seen in. And Param and Vikas just did that, I am so brilliantly torn between hating them and adoring them bringing to life both Veer and Rangeela. To begin with Veer Prataap, the scion of terror, atrocity and perfidy that rules the No Mercy Land. Just two episodes and we can feel his wrath and terror radiate to imbibe our bones with chill and fright of everything that his him. He is ruthless and dangerous, unforgiving and calculative and best of all he is the God to his Ghulaam. He is psychotic to a point that there is no saying what is it next that he will do. Pain gives him pleasure, screams are music to him and torture perhaps is the best game he has ever played. He toys with psyche of his Ghulaam and is unapologetic about the same. I loved Vikas here, the guy is on point. The subdued rage in his eyes, the controlled ego in his mind and the soul that finds orgasmic pleasure seeing the others writhe in terrorizing agony. Vikas had embodied it all, a dark shade until it is pulled off perfectly hardly leaves an impact and here you have him pull it off perfectly. He is on the other side of the spectrum, enjoying the labors of those who take him to be God!
And on the fallen side we have Ghulaam, Rangeela jiska ab ek hi bhagwaan hai. I had liked this guy previously but not even in my wildest imagination had I thought he would constrict my heart with a two minute performance of his. His eyes spoke of pain and helplessness, of self-loathing and guilt and that was the moment I connected instantly with Rangeela. He doesn't approve of all that goes on in this No Mercy Land, he doesn't approve of the scion's action yet he stands by him because he is his God. The orphan Rangeela has a little mirage of a family in Veer and he seems like that desperate man who is afraid to let go because he would never find this elixir again. If only he knew that he has been chasing a mirage! One look at Rangeela and you know he has a misguided sense of righteousness and that because he is bound by that one hope every human harbors, of love and of family. Whatever he has had so far is given by Veer and if he lets him go all that would be taken away. So he toils and lets the fruits pass onto his Sarkaar. He sheds blood and ensures his Sarkaar's victory and tomorrow he'll love and let his Sarkaar reap in the solace.
The air that flows in Berehempur is dark and carries the stench of death in its wake. Torture and fear, hate and agony are so intricately woven in fabric of the people that no one will revolt unless there is one major trigger. All that is left to see is what causes that trigger, Rangeela fractured but solemn heart or Veer's ruthlessness that had solidified his!
P.S. I found Niti's character unimpressive but I want to wait and see what unfolds there. Also special mention to Zahida Parveen, that lady is power when it comes to playing any roles.👏 Oh and I will miss Indraniel and poor Rashmi!😭
P.P.S. This was a small scribble from my side please pray that it doesn't turn into a habit as I have oodles to study and I don't want to gawk at two fantastic actors and waste my time or else laddus on transcript would await me! (Kick me out if the obsession begins to show!😆)
