Hello Bhai log, Behen log (the latter, mostly. I hardly see any dudes in IF). ðŸĪ—

This is my first post after agggeeesss. For those who don't know me (itni bhi phamous nahin hoon main), my name is Shelly. My love affair with IF started back in 2010 (I think) when I was into those mahaan Star One shows!

My last outing was courtesy KY2, and since then, I've been pretty much a silent, Snape-like bat, roaming around and stalking posts from various popcorn forums (I SINCERELY hope this doesn't turn into one!).

Albeit me hoping for the same, I can already smell not-so-subtle hints of the same coming- people here have left no stone unturned to emphasize again and again as to WHO is the reason behind them wanting to watch the show. And right now it's Niti vs Param. ðŸĪ“

Believe me or not, I want to watch this show for it's content.

Yes, you heard me right. While I have, in the past been an ardent fan of KY2 and been a great admirer of Niti Taylor- but that's the thing- it's in the past.

I have thankfully dropped this bad habit of growing too fond of an actor/actress- while I do give myself the liberty to talk about their acting, I have stopped getting involved in their personal lives. And that's how it will be. 😊

Speaking of which, while I have watched Niti's transition from being a aankhein-badi-karne-waali-heroine to a wonderful actress, I can't say the same about Param as I have never really watched SHQ.

That being said, whatever bits and pieces I have watched (from trailers/promos, mostly), I can safely say that he has done a 360 degree turn, getting into the dusty boots of Rangeela. I do believe that he had to work a lot...like A LOT on his body language. By the look of the trailers alone, it does seem like his hard work has paid off...but then again, it's too early to assume anything.

I will reserve my judgement till I watch the episode.

Niti, on the other hand is the mystery element in the show. While we all have gotten an idea of what Shivani will be, we still haven't seen her anywhere in the trailers.

The whole "shy/timid/docile/innocent girl" trope might seem done-to-death, but I guess it's better to introduce a timid and innocent character and then later mould her into a stronger, no-nonsense woman than do it the other way round- get so-called "strong females" married to an abusive male and turn them into doormats.

That is, IF the makers are willing to make the transition.

Now, coming to Veer- the badass of Berahampur! Vikas had never looked better and meaner at the same time.

I am really interested to know the kind of dynamics Veer and Rangeela share. Was Rangeela an orphan, raised by Veer's family- bound to be loyal to them and at their service? Was he kidnapped as a punishment to his father who might have offended Veer's father in some way? Does he have a family? If not, what happened to them?

Anyone else who got a Ramsay-Reek-Jeyne Poole/Sansa deja vu from this?

Only a tougher Ghulam and a less cruel Saheb, perhaps. But what about the Biwi?

For the first time I've come across a "Saavdhaan India" like concept being made into a daily soap. You see stories of forced marriage and domestic abuse in hour-long episodes from time to time- but watching it on a daily basis? That's ought to stir something ugly in the pit of your stomach!

Here, you're not watching an incident starring forgettable faces and cruel narration. Here you are supposed to be attached to a character and then go through what he or she goes through.

To top it all, Ghulam has more or less made it clear that Param and Niti's character, respectively will fall in love- but NOT before Rangeela dupes Shivani into a marriage with his Master.

Now, THAT is something you don't get to see everyday!

This show is unabashedly promoting itself as a story of extra-marital affair, of forbidden love, of breaking the convictions...how cool is that? Add to that, the extremely cruel and rustic backdrop- a far cry from the high-end building and malls of Mumbai and Delhi, where an extra-marital affair is a very common thing. This is Berahampur we are talking about "Jahaan aurat ki jagah paaon ki jooti k barabar naa hain".

Definitely excited to see how all these intricacies are explored and executed. I really hope it doesn't mess up!

Absolutely loved your post! And i loved the fact that being a ky2 fan you are watching the show for it's concept, because i hardly see anyone watching the show for the concept xD coming to the idea of the show some things are clear that either rangeela is bound to be veer's slave because his father was also one or because as you said they raised him! But param has mostly said in the ivs that there's going to be an interesting reason why he respects his master so much! And yes rangeela will dupe shivani into marrying veer! And then as param said a girl will change rangeela's behaviour so it has to shivani most probably, though i really don't want any angle between the two of them xD
Anyway excited for the show :D
Btw i am sanya :)

Hello Sanya! 😃

Thanks a lot for your input. Well, Param confirming it or not, articles are already abuzz with Ghulaam's main plot. Personally, I'm intrigued to see how Param and Niti would look together on the show (so far I've only seen pictures of Vikas-Niti together). Given the fact that they both were working in youth shows that were competing each other, viewership and TRP-wise, it would add to the spice. 😆

I usually always prefer keeping the past in the past, hope the fans here would do the same and not bring all the tension on forum.

I have some awaal darje ka curse when it comes to forums. 😭 😭

Now, Param has also said that Rangeela has a reason for his unflinching loyalty towards Veer- interesting. Could be a "Bodyguard"-like premise where Salman's character was bound to serve Kareena's character and her family. Could be either of the two suggestions I stated. But then, as of now, I will rule out the "kidnapping" angle. Kidnapped kids always hold a grudge against their adoptive Masters.

It would remain to be seen how the story unfolds. ⭐ïļ

Very interesting post ! Loved it totally..
Well the story and concept seem really interesting to me but honestly the only reason i am going to watch the show is NITI TAYLOR. But if i will continue watching the show solely depends on the quality of the content they deliver..
The promos are DHAKKAD 😆 and i hope the attitude/ mood of the show is the same as it seems in the promos..
Have seen vikas as 'hudda'. And he was so good in LRL.
Ummm what should i say about NITI . The girl is fabulous.. She always appreciate her co-actors for being focussed . I dont know if she feels she is less focussed or what.. 😆 Trust me , i never saw Niti in Nandini during kyy days (except few episodes of season2 about which i shouldn't be talking here)
When she was nandini she was nandini and i m sure she will rule hearts as shivani..
The girl was always focussed and will always be..
Have never seen param's work but i would love to see his tashan as rangeela..

I just hope the fandom of this show remains sane unlike kyy fandom.. 😛 and forum people dont get indulge into stupid fights and my favourite vs ur fav games..

Cheers to Ghulaam !! Good wishes to the entire team

Hey !! Firstly loved ur post along with all the points u have put forward regarding the story 😊 😊

Am also a Ky2 and MaNan fan and also Niti Taylor admirer and have got to know about this show after she was roped in ! Am looking forward for a good show backed up with a strong script, content, execution along with some wonderful performances from all the actors 😊 as i strongly believe that without good content, no one can save a show or a movie !!

As for the story i guess Rangeela might b Veer's Ghulaam who has been bought up by his family and so is very loyal to them ! In one of the iv , Vikas said though he is a Ghulaam , he is treated like his brother so yes am very much interested to know the equation between Veer and Rangeela !! Along with that Shivani's role and her equation with the duo will b exciting to watch 😃

All the best to the complete team 😊

I also hope that no fights happen atleast on IF , everyone watches the show for their own favourites , because on Twitter the scenario has already become worst 😆

Hello Shelly,
I'm both surprised and glad to see you here.
I loved all your posts in KY2 forum and read ur FF's, must say you're an amazing writer.
Been silent one since KY2 days and now starting my IF journey in this awesome post of yours.
As you said let past be past 😆.
I am NitiTaylor admirer from the start but I'm definitely going to avoid any offscreen discussion in this forum (past experience 😆 ). My reason to watch this show is Niti, for now. Hope content becomes a reason to continue .
Coming to the show
There must be strong reason behind Veer treating Rangeela as a brother. This status must hv made Rangeela a devoted Ghulaam.
About Veer - Shivani - Rangeela. Think Rangeela might use Shivani as a solution to both Veer and Shivani problems. But, all offscreen pics and promos r quite confusing. So, not sure about extra-marital affair.

Hello and thank you! 😊

We all have our own reasons to watch something. I started watching "The X Files" after learning that it have aliens and ghosts ðŸĪŠ

But that's just me. Even I do hope that this forum doesn't turn into a war zone...I swear, maine toh depression mein chale jaana hain! 😭

Hellooo! 😃

I believe that's the drill with every story. We can only continue to watch something if the content is good enough for us to be hooked. I hope this show doesn't turn out to be another drag marathon (especially scared coz Saurabh Tiwari is one of the producers 😕).

Whatever Vikas might have said about Rangeela being like a brother to Veer, I don't think it's true. Just so you'd know, I have watched the episode already (perks of having a premium Hotstar account 😆) and going by the precap, it seems that Veer's "brotherly" affection is shown in a very calculated manner which will ensure his Ghulaam's unflinching loyalty.

It is a given that affection always works better than fear.

Aahh...good ol' Twitter fights. 😆

Can't comment much on that, Twitter has always been the best online war platform. Heck, even Presidents mud-sling each other there...do fandom kya cheez hain? 😆
