- Forum Focus: This forum is dedicated to food-related discussions, recipes, cooking tips, and more. All posts should be relevant to these topics.
- Reality Shows: Separate topics can be made for discussing food-related reality shows.
Conduct Guidelines:
- Bashing & Personal Attacks: Personal attacks or bashing, name-calling, hate speech or inflammatory comments will not be tolerated. Personal insults, derogatory remarks, and offensive language towards members, celebrities, or the Development Team (DT) are strictly prohibited.
- No Moral Policing: Respect the diverse opinions and choices of other members. Avoid imposing your personal values on others and refrain from any form of moral policing. Every member’s perspective is valuable.
- Focused Discussions: Keep all discussions and content strictly related to food and associated professionals/celebrities. Sharing recipes or videos from celebrities is allowed, but limit discussions to those topics only. Off-topic posts or discussions are discouraged to maintain the relevance and quality of the forum.
- Avoid Sharing Personal Information: Do not share or solicit personal information in the forum. Do not share email addresses or phone numbers of restaurants either. Privacy is important, and protecting personal data is essential.
- Avoid Counter-Posting: Avoid creating counter posts in response to disagreements or insults. Instead, report problematic posts to the DT. Retaliation can escalate conflicts, so focus on following the guidelines and let the DT handle issues.
- Avoid Quoting Posts: Avoid quoting long posts or multiple posts with links/images, as it can clutter the page and affect readability. When replying, quote only the relevant part of the post or tag the user you're responding to.
- No Religious and Political Discussions: Discussions on religion, politics, and sensitive issues are not allowed on this forum. Respect personal food choices related to religion and avoid shaming or mocking them.
- Avoid Repeat Topics: Before starting a new topic, check the first 2-3 pages to see if a similar topic exists. If so, comment there. New topics on the same subject will be merged with the existing one.
- Avoid the Use of Caps & Profanity: Avoid using all caps or large fonts for entire posts, as it appears rude. Use caps sparingly for emphasis only. Profanity is strictly prohibited. Report any use of offensive language. Redacted or bleeped words are also not allowed, as their meaning is still clear.
Copyright and Plagiarism:
- Content Sharing: Provide proper a link or citation when sharing articles, recipes, or other content. Paraphrase or summarize where needed and avoid posting full articles or scanned pages without permission.
- Video Content: Share links to relevant video content (e.g., YouTube, TikTok) but do not repost videos directly unless they are your own. Violations will be edited or removed. Report any issues you find.
Reporting and Moderation:
- Report Violations: Use the “REPORT” button for rule violations or problematic content. Avoid starting new threads to address issues.
- Targeted Reporting: Refrain from reporting multiple posts simply to pressure the moderators. Such actions will be addressed, and those creating disturbances may face consequences.
- Duplicate Reports: Do not report the same post more than once. Multiple reports delay the process and can lead to a warning. Moderators need 24-48 hours to address reports and may consult before taking action.
- Response Time: Moderators are volunteers with personal lives. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response and avoid sending multiple PMs about the same issue. One PM per issue is sufficient.
- Confidentiality: Moderation actions are confidential. Do not make assumptions about bias or selective enforcement. Moderators are not obligated to share specifics about actions taken.
- Abusive PMs: Report abusive or threatening PMs directly to the DT or admins. Do not publicize or use the forum to target another member.
- Using Report Button or PM: For issues, report posts and PM the DT for urgent matters. Arguing in threads or notifying members of reports is not allowed.
- No Mass PMs: Mass PMs from fan groups are not allowed. Members can only PM the DT on their own behalf.
- Do Not Alter Posts: Do not alter posts thread titles with moderator notes. Significant rule violations will result in immediate action by the moderation team.
Warning Levels:
Any member who is found to be in violation of India Forums Rules and Code Of Conduct may be given a Warning Level increase by the moderation team.
If a member is found bashing or instigating fights, they will receive a warning PM. Continued behavior will raise their warning level. For issues with other members, contact the moderation team. Report any posts that violate the IF Code of Conduct, and the DT will handle it.
Please note, with each Warning Levels increase it will also restrict/limit the member's access to the forum features.
- 20% - First warning, so members are given a chance, without any other restrictions
- 40% - Only 15 posts (replies in topics) can be made in a day
- 60% - No new topics can be created in addition to restrictions of 40% warning level
- 80% - Restricted PM access whereby PMs can ONLY be sent to Dev Team to resolve issues, in addition to restrictions of 60% warning level
- 100% - Automatically bans the member
Warning levels can be reduced after 3 months of active participation without new warnings or rule violations. To lower your warning level, send a request PM to the moderation team of the forum. If you don't get a response within a week, contact the Channel Moderator.
Freedom of Speech:
- Respect everyone’s food preferences and opinions—what one person likes or dislikes is their choice. Don’t attack others for their views or engage in arguments. If a post is upsetting or offensive, report it instead of replying. Avoid bullying, hate speech, and stereotypes. While freedom of speech is valued, it comes with the responsibility to use it respectfully. Mocking or shaming will lead to warnings and thread closures.
Inclusivity:
- India Forums is committed to inclusion and does not tolerate discrimination. Posts that tell others to leave based on their fan group or exclude specific members will be removed. Threads with exclusionary titles will be edited, and repeat offenders may receive warnings. Any posts promoting discrimination or hatred against individuals or groups based on personal characteristics will be removed immediately.
Issues on External Sites
- Posting show or character-related content from official sources is allowed. However, personal discussions or issues from external sites should not be posted on IF. Share personal tweets or updates only in their respective ATs. Do not bring fights or disagreements between fan groups from social media onto the forum. For more details, refer to External Content from Social Networking Sites.
Signature & Avatar Guidelines:
- Avoid offensive or controversial content in signatures or avatars. Ensure they are within size limits to prevent disruption. Refrain from posting morphed images and ensure that all shared images are appropriate and relevant to the discussions.
- Please remember to keep your signatures to a specific size, as large signatures cause the page to lag. For more information refer to A&S forum's guidelines that are applicable all over IF.
Language:
- English is the default language for posts on IF, but Hindi is also permitted due to its wide usage. Posts in other regional languages are allowed for connecting with speakers of those languages. However, using languages to exclude or mock others is not allowed and will lead to warnings if reported.
Multiple IDs:
- Creating multiple IDs (MIDs) to disrupt, bash, or cause conflict will result in a ban on the MID and a warning for the original ID. Suspected MIDs should be reported to the Dev Team with evidence; do not accuse on the threads. Newbies should not be assumed to be MIDs without proof.
Social Media:
- You can share food-related content from social media, such as reviews, pictures, memes, and videos, as long as it’s respectful and not offensive. Avoid sharing or discussing fan conflicts and social media arguments. Mocking or insulting memes are not allowed.
Note: Forum freedom comes with the expectation of mature and civil behavior. If members fail to maintain these standards, freedoms may be revoked. The DT may adjust rules to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for healthy discussion.
