Indian Sweets

I am organizing an Indian themed event for 300 people in February.

I want something 'interactive' for the guests to do over dinner and my favorite idea is for them to decorate some traditional sweets to put in a little bag and take away with them.

Does anyone have a suggestion/recipe for some sweets which can be made a day or 2 beforehand but would still be soft so that they could be decorated with nuts, coconut or anything else suitable which would stick to the sweets?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
