Heating up the Hot Seat
They are Bollywood's cool couple who set the screen on fire. We catch up with Bipasha Basu and John Abraham, as they reveal a different side during this interview, right after their stint on KBC2 Hot Seat for the Dussehra Special.
Aaj Dussehra special tha, darshakon ko aaj aap dono ke baare mein bahut saari special cheezein maloom hua hai, KBC dekhkar.Kuch hamare Star News darshakon ko bhi batanaa chaahenge?
Bipasha: Dekhiye, pehle toh main yeh kehna chahoongi ki bahut achcha laga, ki hum yahaan aakar ek acche cause ke liye khele aur entertainment bhi hua, aur bahut logon ko yeh programme dekhkar maza bhi aaya.Parr ek baat hai ki hamara focus khel mein jeetna tha, kyunki yeh do bahut hi achche cause ke liye jaa rahe they Make-a-wish Foundation bachchon ke liye, aur PETA animals ke liye.Aur hum yahaan se ek achhi khaasi rakam le jaa rahe hai... I am happy because of that.
John: Ji main khush hoon, buss last mein ek aur question agar hum answer kar paate toh thoda aur bada rakam yahaan se le jaate, kyunki charity ke liye koi bhi amount kam nahi haiAnyways we are very happy ki humne yeh sab ek bahut hi achche charitable cause ke liye kiya hai. Hum KBC ke shukraguzaar hai ki unhone mujhe aur Bipasha ko invite kiya. It's a special occasion, and of course Bachchan sahab ke saamne vaapis… hum logunke saath shoot toh karte rehte hai lekin with him its always special.
Bachchan sahab ke saath aap ne films kiye hai, toh koi rapport bana hoga, kya uss rapport ki madat hui is show parr?
John: Ji, ek easy feeling hoti hai Bachchan saab ke saath kaam karne mein. He is younger than most of us by nature, aur bahut hi energetic vyakti hai, toh its always a pleasure working with him.
Bipasha: Dekhiye woh set pe toh bahut help karte hai.Yahaan pe mujhe kuch samajh mein nahi aa rahe they, aur mein help ke liye Bachchan saab ki taraf dekhti, phir mein John ko dekhti, ki koi toh help karo. But seriously, Bachchan saab ke saath yeh mulaqaat bahut achhi rahi. Thode butterflies pet mein zyaada ho gaye unko dekh kar. Main KBC bahut achhi tarah follow karti hoon, toh abhi apna ek episode dekhkar khush ho jaaoongi.
Pehle jab aap logon ne KBC dekha, kabhi socha tha ki ek din aap usme hissa lenge?
John: Maine kabhi bhi nahi socha tha ki main khud kabhi kheloonga, aur frankly bolu toh I am not capable of answering most of the questions on the show. Shaayad yeh ek mauka mila hai charity ke liye khelne ka, I think that's as far as I can come.
Bipasha, iss show ke dauraan Bengal ki kaafi saari baatein logon ko jaan ne mila, kuch humaare darshakon ke liye bhi kehna chahenge?
Bipasha: Dekhiye Dussehra ka din hum Bangaliyon ke liye bhi bahut khushi ka din hota hai. Iss din Maa Durga ka visarjan hota hai.Humaare saare gharon mein ek festive ocassion hone ke naate bahut hi khushi ka maahaul hota hai. Hum ek doosre ko Shubho Bijoyo kehte hai. Achhi baat yeh thi ki mujhe Bengal oriented questions oochhe gaye KBC pe, isse mujhe bahut madat mili.
John, aapka bike prem ke baare hum sabhi ko pata hai, lekin hamaare darshakon ke liye kuch aur bataiiye
John: Bikes meri passion hai, aur main ise ek hobby ke naate dekhta hoon. Agar ek din main ise ek profession bana paoo toh khush ho jaaoonga,lekin filhaal main acting pe concentrate kar raha hoon.
Aur bhi kuch raaz ki baatein aap logon se jaan ne ko mila hai is shoot ke dauraan, jaise ki aap media planner they aur advertising se talook rakhte they, kya aapke uss profession ne aap ko abhi help kiya hai?
John: Advertising has given me the power to carefully choose campaigns or endorsements. Mujhe woh right decision lene main help karta hain aur over exposure se bachata hai.
Show ke dauraan kaafi confusion hui. Kuch questions pe aapne bahut samay lagaya.Kya vajay thi iski? Was it because of Mr Bachchan, ya saara maahaul?
Bipasha: Sach agar kahu toh kuch sawaalon ka sachmuch jawaab hi nahi pata tha, kuch guess kiye aur mere andar jo chalta hai woh mere chehre par dikhta hai. So there was definitely times when I got stuck and had to look at John for help. Of course some answers I knew, and bahut kuch mann mein chal raha tha aur bahut excited thi. At the end of the day I am like a child I do get excited by all kinds of games. I really enjoyed it.
John, kya kahenge iss baare mein. Jab shoot chal raha tha, questions aa rahe they, music baj raha tha, aur dil ki dhadkan badh rahi thi,kya mahsoos kiya aapne?
John: Ji, mera angle toh sirf charity tha and jo doosri wajah thi woh thi Mr Bachchan. I respect both the angles and of course Mr Siddharth Basu, hum unhe bachpan se Quiztime pe dekhte aa rahe hai. So they are special people, making this special event happen.
Why did you want to give this money for the particular charities?
Bipasha: We are setting an example just like all other celebrities who have done so on KBC. It's a great opportunity to donate for a charity, as people believe what they see. Definitely we always learn from what we see. And I hope other people follow suit keep the trend going on.
