A chapter minus Arnav and that too on Valentine's day?? Bahut nainsaafi hai yeh!!! But he was there in her thoughts and you wrote it beautifully even without Arnav. And now we are at the point where this story had begun. When I had read the prologue and then with successive updates I had secretly wondered how could NK leave Khushi like this but now I know better.
I can't help but compare how NK immediately knew he can't give up his dream of protests for Khushi (knowing well that she would have supported him if he would just choose a non-violent way) and Arnav who was always dead against this struggle and living in India was ready to give up his dream of working & living in England for her. Khushi is Arnav's priority.
I understand NK's dilemma as much as I can because frankly I can never understand him fully. Not because of the choices he made but because of the simple fact that I've not faced the atrocities of Britishers like the people in that era did. I was fortunate enough to be born in an Independent India and it's because of many people like Aman and NK, Gandhiji and Bhagat Singh that we are free from British Raj.
Khushi must have felt so betrayed. She was thinking, hoping about a future with a man who lied to her.
Let's see what she is going to do now. She knows Arnav was ready to live in India, so will it make any difference?

Fabulous update. . And your writing just had me hooked.. The gathering, the movement, everyone's passion for their country.. I could literally visualize this.. Its like I was transported to that time.. Brilliant. .

Nk was always in the background till now.. So this update told what a person NK is.. He is a nice person but his anger got the better of him.. And now Khushi has to bear the brunt of this action too..

The prologue part is there. . Can't wait for the next part..

Sorry for being late!

NK!he definitely showcased how the youth felt then...how aggressive and patriotic they were...
The anger and the reason behind it...May be the words his grandma uttered " I am proud of you" we're said by his father...the story would have been different...

The anticipation and the build up for the relay of gandhijis speech held me on to the seat ...

NK had finally chose "sacrifice" over his "love" ..and he has to face the consequences...

And will ""aap"" succeed in taking her away and claim his love now?

One last thing...Aman is also involved in the independence struggle...Arnav doesn't have any objection to his involvement ...what does Aman do for living...doesn't he believe that he is wasting his life in this struggle? Did I miss something in earlier updates regarding Aman and Arnav angle?

Hola Choti, read this on the plane ride back from NY but I was dead tired to reply. I love the insight into the person that is NK. I get his impatience and seeing all the brutal atrocities committed by the British. Not everyone can be Gandhi and there is a reason an eye for eye was adopted by civilizations long ago. However, he is fighting with the greater entity and along with his friends and the person he is in love with. How can he be so selfish as to betray her and put her at risk like that? One always protects our most loved ones, not exposed them to danger. For this alone, I cannot pardon him for his irrational action. Kushi is in jail and is completely shattered by how easily he has broken the trust that she had placed in him. I do believe it is the end of the line for him here. I do hope that Ashok and his wife continue with any kind of relationship for him and Kushi. How can he vow to love and Protect after this? There will be no sincerity to his wedding vows after this. So now Kushj is in jail at the mercy of the British but Aap is here to save the day. Yes we are finally at the prologue. He may be angry but he will be making the decision for them from now on I think. I feel he would want her safety and if he has to force her, he will. Can't wait to read more. Cheers!

choti...I may call you choti? This was an excellent chapter! I loved the tense anticipation of the gathered crowd, loved the family undercurrents and NKs relationship with his dadi and ...now on to the much awaited showdown and the prologue!
Brilliant!
