As I said some time ago that we are heading to the prologue part it feels that there is still a big gap, still a lot to be revealed and here it is, in this update the missing part. NK
The last ray of hope for Khushi, for taking the stance of staying away from Arnav but closer to her beliefs, moral and passion for country along with marrying NK for the wish of her ma and papa.

But this update was a missing part more from NK's POV. How he felt about Khushi, his country, his drive for freedom, and what preference he will give to whom.

Even though Khushi felt betrayed of NK, but I don't see it that way. Like Khushi who chose to side Gandhiji and his beliefs in non-violence to attain freedom over Arnav's belief of Britishers being good for India and it's development, NK too had a right to chose. So he did chose the way of violence coz his patience wore off.

And it's not like Khushi didn't know of NK's incline toward violence but she just didn't expected after his promise of sticking with ahimsa. What can I say, but this can summarize that he too didn't believe that "Bunch of fasting Indians can get freedom."

Choti, you showed NK's dilemma of deciding between breaking Khushi's trust and betraying her over letting go his dream of freedom and waiting just like they been doing for 22years. And how he ultimately took his decision. Followed by his grandmothers permission to go and do what he want as she too knows that he won't be able to live without doing it.

Now what breaks the heart is in all this NK landed empty handed for now. He lost Khushi and his move of violence didn't get him anywhere close to freedom for now.

There Khushi lost what she thought she would have with NK - contentment over love with Arnav. Now what will she do

The "Aap.." In the end left the bubbling feeling of finally the prologue. Of finally Arnav is here to get his love anyhow.

Question is how will Khushi decide now between her belief and love, again?

so this is where the scene from the prologue set in? isn't it? it looks like it. this tall person has to be arnav. I feel bad for khushi now, earlier I was just angry at her because arnav had gladly given her his heart and dream on a plate and she had refused in the name of not letting him let go of his dreams... but I feel for khushi now, betrayed, heartbroken and guilty.

you have taken me in that era with your detailed describing and it felt like as if I'm the part of the crowd gathered there and witnessing everything...
I salute the lady nk's grandmother is,,, despite loosing everything and she sent him and understood him knowing that he may never come back ,,,, her family wood end there ...
without having any arnav or khushi in this part it was greatly written and I loved reading every line of it,... '
I hope Anjali and aman gat away safely ... and at the I hope that 'aap' was arnav comeing there to bail her out... so now it is the part that's coming that we had read at the very start of the story...

That was intense! I really liked the way you have brought out the sentiments of so many people at this crucial time in India's history. Besides the big picture of India's (and Gandhiji's) fight for freedom, your story talks about the emotions of the common people at that time - could very well have been our own parents and grandparents!
The British giving India Independence is always something to reflect in hindsight and say that Gandhiji's patience and determination paid off. And it did. But it must have been very difficult for many young, idealistic, passionate men like NK to wait patiently when they were in the thick of it. Patience usually comes with understanding and wisdom of experiences.

You have done a tremendous job of putting yourself in the shoes of NK, Khushi, NK's grandmother and even the British soldiers.

From Khushi's perspective, her heart is broken again - at least Arnav was honest about his feelings and ideas and NK's behavior was shocking to her. It will be interesting to see how you deal with her reactions now - to both NK and Arnav. I am sure her mind is tortured now!

Agree with your thoughts. @ bold, Only, she is not 18. may be a 40 year old trapped in a 18 year old's body. Or has a birthday falling on Feb 29, or, has a going on 40 year old's mind... the possibilities are endless... but the bottom line is the same - she is not 18!

in the previous chapter, describing a broken man in arnav, is not something an 18 year old can do, let alone comprehend. and with that, i rest my case.

P, have you read the OS written by Jigs for Choti's 18th birthday which was a few weeks ago.

I guess Choti is 18, but she is mature for her age. 😆

You guys caught me.

I'm secretly Nicholas Flammel, and in possession of the Sorcerer's Stone, thus providing me with the Elixir of Youth.

Juan Ponce de Leon (accent sobre la o) really did find it after all! He sent it to Britain, where I obtained it during my tenure as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

AAAH!!! An HP reference!

AND that Nicholas Flammel theory explains it all so perfectly, I can't believe I was ever dumb enough to think you were only 18 years old.

WAIT A MINUTE. OH-EM-GEE. YOU HAVE THE SORCERER'S STONE WITH YOU.

Another OMG moment! YOU WENT TO HOGWARTS. THAT IMPLIES YOU GOT YOUR HOGWARTS ACCEPTANCE LETTER. And here I am, still waiting for it.

Bas Choti, bas. Mera dil, tod diya na tumne.

😆
