One more update ! And a fabulous one !

Love the kind of unique situations you whip up. The water clogging in the drain, the cigaretter smoking, Maan's unsuccessful effort at breakfast, Channi's heartbreak from the heartless but "maybe normal" guy and Maan staying in roadside inn...

The emotions in all these situations - the close ones and the far away ones - seem so close to a reader.

Your story is like hot tea and pakodas on a rainy day 😊 - donno why, have loved the rainy season in terms of weather and emotions thats existent in your story πŸ˜ƒ

Hasini, want to say so much more... but cant find the right words - thats always my problem while commenting for writers whom I love

I have been reading the comments...

So the story is coming to an end...well, thats sad..but good things always come in limited portions - thats what i say to console myselfπŸ˜†

So Maan has left her alone and she denied going back with him... and the background has a lot of noise... so what are you plotting?πŸ˜ƒ

To me, Maan has done the right thing. Giving her to pick her choices and some personal space without his presence maybe was necessary. Maybe he saw it differently and her feelings of the situation were different - maybe this space made her realise what was missing..

Its realisation and maybe ultimatum time for Geet - given a leeway, she will forever keep running away from him... Maan has not been keeping away from her consciously - to me its always been her. so if anybody has to take a step ahead, it should be her... I absolutely loved your dialogue on knowing to live with the man you love ...its so apt.

What is it about your stories Hasini? I don't want this to end either. I agree with the previous comments about the rainy environment settings. Just love that.Ironic that both sisters had feelings for their guys in the same fields and look at the difference in the outcomes.

A few questions were raised and hence I'm bound to answer...
Here it goes.

She has realized now that she too likes him...

The act of Geet kissing Maan infront of her family, by itself is a harmless act and can be misread to be driven by different motives. Although, its not so much the case when you add her diary entries to it. Especially, the last one, which gives away that there is more to that kiss.

It's not now that she realizes she faces a strong pull for Maan. In reality, she was the first one to have experienced the forces of attraction out of the the two.

Maan merely likes the idea of getting married to the woman who is already fallen for him, which when he states later - the fact that she is attracted to him - is rejected by her. But despite the events, that follow, he does fall for her. In summary, I wanted to clarify that interms of attraction, Geet has always known what she has for him.

How could he leave her and be so aloof?

I have two dialogues for you, that will help. And you let me know, if that doesn't work for you.

"Why don't you just go back and live with Channi if it matters so much?"

"Actually it's all Geet's choice..." He said and after which, she had the entire household looking her way, not leaving an option, except give a slow begrudging nod.

I beg to differ with Geet's monologue, is it Geet's fault that Maan did not listen to the complete 'eavesdropping' conversation of hers and Channis? Should he have not clarified the same with her, especially knowing that she is not aware of his 'eavesdropping' (smack him on his butt for eavesdropping LOL)? How could she consider her future with him, if the present lies with misunderstandings? I do not agree with his words 'served her right', knowingly that she has solemnly taken care of the house and his 'basic' needs! As the title goes 'the life in the palm of her hand', and I would like to add, 'their hands', cause you know what they say, it takes two to tango...

First of all, let me address the technicalities. The part you quoted, is her monologue, not his. So he is not the one who thinks that his words served her right. (Added double space to indicate monologue switchover).
Secondly, she feels she had every opportunity to live with the one she loved, which he gave her, without pushing her to do so. (I guess explaining that it is her monologue, takes care of most part)

Coming back to your first question (the part for which he deserves a smack on the butt), he doesn't have to get it clarified that 'she cannot accept him or the life with him...' He already sees that in her actions and responses. But of course this is a little before the night she begins opening up to him (There is a trigger here and it will come out in the last update - which not being Channi of course)
And to his merit, he has openly sought her out too, ("I'm simply clearing the path..." He touched her index finger, hooking it with his and paused, recognizing he'd no more patience for indirect talk "so that you find your way back to me") it was for her to respond too for the rest.

I don't know what undercoverhappy meant by Geet going on the other side... To me she was always on the same side.

Maan feel? Again, I doubt I get the interpretation.

I was asking you that question because, you showed up on the thread after a long time with a question yesterday and today there was another question. So I was wondering if you were questioning me...through that post. (I should have known better. You would have quoted me, if it had been so)

Hmm! But there isn't any story here (no conflict to be resolved) for me to go ahead with the story. I hope you won't bring in NY times here. Its really 2 FFs in one. πŸ˜†

I love the rain too. I'm sure it shows in all the stories.

Ah! the irony of life...I know.

Thanks Gurl!

Hasini,I liked the tugging of the bangle scene a lot too. Forgot to mention that in that update's comment. Things get missed in a house full of holiday revelers. I know you explained about the leaving but he said the thing about Channi when he was angry. Also when the whole family wanted her to stay she could hardly resist. Seems like his anger or frustration is making him give up too soon on her, or is this some sort of weird punishment for not picking him first. I love this Geet with all her confusions she seems to be the fighter among the two.
