Sambhav waited for Kabir to start talking after Sambhav had listened to what he had to say and told him what he had to tell him. Kabir was bent over the washbasin , splashing water on his face, looking at his face in the mirror as Sambhav's grey eyes looked at him from behind , patiently.
Kabir ( taking a deep breath )- So, Abhay has forgotten Piya. And hopped back into Maithli's lap. You seriously want me to believe that , Sambhav?
Sambhav ( shrugging his shoulders )- High time you acquaint yourself with all the realms of the magic world, my foe . Its not just about vampires , werewolves and slayers. There is more. I stopped you from going and confronting Abhay because Abhay is a loose cannon right now due to his mental and emotional state . Slightest provocation could result in an altercation. Besides , you have no idea how the vampires are going to react to the news of you being a vampire slayer. You have killed a Czen. Danish.
Kabir ( runs a disturbed hand through his hair )- I didn't KILL him! I released him from this life of…. Life of a blood sucking beast. And I don't want to discuss that with you, okay? …My head is still reeling with all that has happened with me in the last 48 hours! ….If it was not for Daksh , I would have exploded with all this inside me.
Sambhav ( raising an eye brow )- Daksh. A vampire slayer who is now out in the open. What does he want?
Kabir ( shakes his head )- I don't know. I really don't know. But what I know is that I REFUSE to be a part of all this supernatural murk, Sam. I am not going to be a part of all this and I don't want this in my life. I am going to live a normal life of Kabir Singh Rathore in the human world. I don't want to find out who my biological parents are and I don't want to remember that I have a slayer's bloodline. I wanted to see Abhay because I want to warn him about Daksh. Daksh has too much interest in the Raichands , especially Abhay.
Sambhav ( crossing his arms across his chest )- You seriously think you can escape your fate, Kabir?
Kabir ( wiping his face with a towel )- We are not talking about this again, Sam. I don't want to remember that you are a wolf and I don't want to know that this town is infested with vampires! I ma going back to my normal life! I just want to talk to Abhay once regarding this matter because I care about Piya! … But it is all sorted now, I think. Abhay doesn't even remember that he loved Piya! ALL GOOD!
Kabir tosses the towel aside and pushing Sambhav aside, he rushes towards the door and as soon as he opens it , he is shocked at the sight in front of him. Anushka with her Barbie doll-like plum bob cut hair , her knotted white shirt and denim hot pants teamed with kneelength brown boots. Her stark light brown eyes looking at him from kohled boats and her mouth in a "hello?" red pout. Sambhav looks at her and shakes his head as though to convey that she shouldn't tell him that she is not Anushka.
Kabir ( flabbergasted )- Anushka? What the…
Even before Kabir can finish his sentence, Zeenia puts her red fingernail on his chest and pushes him back in , shutting the door behind her and blinking her eyes at him like fluttering butterflies.
Zeenia ( pinning him to a wall and putting her hands on either side of Kabir )- Good looks are useless on pea brains, comrade….( grins )….you really think you can escape your fate, Kabir? WOWIE! You mean you have scripted your own fate , dahling? ….( claps like a gleeful child )… write two copies for me and Sammy too! What say?
Kabir ( shocked at her sight and behavior ) – A-Anushka! What happened to you!!!!!!!!!!!...Is this how you look like in your witch garb or is it some kid of fancy dress festival?
Zeenia ( rolls her eyes and blows the bangs on her forehead )- I am too sexy for my shoes as a witch, K! See that is why my shoes are so long… ( taps her feet and points to them )… but that is not the point , my beefcake...( holds his head between her hands in a cutely dominating way)…the point is …arre you going to side with Daksh and rest of the slayers whom I can just smell entering the town any day?
Sambhav ( leaning against a wall )- What we want to know is…. Are you sure you can control your slayer instincts. Can we trust you NOT to go against us?
Zeenia ( runs a finger over Kabir's shocked face )- Baby , Daksh didn't tell you and Pancchi….( Kabir's jaw falls open )… ummhmm.. lift your handsome jaw from the floor or else how will I kiss you in the future , K?...I am a witch and I can read your mind when I want to, okay? Pancchi knows everything , right? Hmm.. Anyway , as I was saying Daksh did not spill the beans to educate you. He will make use of you.
Kabir ( strongly )- He can't!
Zeenia ( pulling his cheeks )- Awww…..my lambie poo, K. Time will tell… ( face changing as she clicks her fingers in his face )… only you stay true to your word, honey. As much as I just love your hotbod….ooops… I mean YOU, it will not take me a second to draw out your soul if the slayer in you becomes active…. Against Abhay or any of the Raichands.
Sambhav ( with a soft threat )- Live your life , Kabir and stay away from the supernatural whirlpool as you have decided. Daksh will not leave you in peace . If he has told you everything , there is a reason.
Just then, the restroom's door opens and a professor peeks in . He is horrified at the sight of a girl in the washroom and that too in an almost compromising position with Kabir.
Professor ( screams )- WHAT THE HELL! What are you two boys doing with a girl in the boys' restroom?
Just then, Zeenia faints in Kabir's arms , her body suddenly turning hot . Kabir and Sambhav look at each-other in shock. Zeenia winks at Sambhav and he knows what to do.
Raichand Mansion
Piya is sitting in the living room , near the fireplace as Chaand gives her a cup of coffee and sits next to her. Piya looks very tense and disturbed and Chaand feels bad for her.
Chaand ( calmly )- You don't need to feel bad about anything , Piya. Its not your fault. Abhay's state is not your fault. It is the doing of that heathen creature who is up there in Abhay's room with him.
Piya ( her eyes wide )- Maithli? Maithli is here, uncle?
Chaand ( nods )- Abhay had come back very disturbed after whatever happened between you and him in the college infirmary , as you have just told me now. He was just moving around the house like a mad bull and kept on calling Maithli until she showed up at my door.
Piya immediately puts the cup down and gets up , picking up her bag.
Piya ( hurt )- I should be leaving , uncle. I just came to see him because I thought he was too hurt and disturbed by my behavior in college . He was not picking my phone either. But I think … I think…
Chaand ( making her sit back )- Sit down. This is my house, Piya. And this is the last place you should be feeling uncomfortable in. Okay? You want to see Abhay? Then, see him and go. And rest assured , in front of me, he will be civil with you. And as for that crooked aunty of yours , I could actually just squeeze her into a tall glass and drink her down! It irks me to even think that Abhay actually wasted 300 years waiting for that garbage of a woman!
Piya sits down again but she knew inside that she didn't want to see Abhay and Maithli together. And now, with Abhay ripping all her defences like ribbons , Piya was no longer sure if she was really as strong as she believed herself to be.
Just then, the door of the huge room , right in front of the top of the staircase opens and Piya raises her face to look up. Abhay comes out , wearing a black vest and drawstring pajamas , looking preoccupied and sullen but slightly better. Maithli, flipping her long mane and clinging to his arm is walking with him. She is laughing and chattering but Abhay is elsewhere. As soon as Abhay steps out of the room, a gust of wind seems to bring him back to reality. He immediately looks up from his feet and down to the palatial living room. His ice blue eyes find what they are looking for and his face suddenly becomes tender and emotive. There she is sitting – a petite angel in her white top and pink floral skirt , her fairytale curly hair encasing her angelic face- and like always her big baby browns looking at him with an emotion that always take away that heaviness of the heart that he seems to be struggling with.
Abhay ( in a tender whisper) – Piya…..
Maithli follows his gaze and spots her niece sitting in the lounge with a cup of coffee in her hands. Maithl's jaw tightens and the darkness from her pretty face looks out at Piya, Maithli immediately takes a step ahead and clasps Abhay's hand, gripping it . Abhay is shaken and his face goes grim as he looks at Piya.
ABHAY! FOCUS! He screams at the man inside him. The woman you love is right next to you and not down there. Don't fall from your own heart , your character and in your own eyes. You can handle this , Abhay. You can fight this insane attraction towards that doppelganger of the love of your life. Come on!
Abhay's jaw tightens and putting an arm around Maithli's waist and pulling her close , he comes down the stairs. Piya's eyes are no longer on Abhay's face . They are on Abhay's hand resting on Maithli's waist. Piya's facial bones tighten and she clutches the coffee mug harder. She can read Abhay's mind and what she reads only further devastates her. Chaand senses the tension and he tries to lighten the atmosphere.
Chaand ( grave but pleasant )- Ah, here comes Abhay, Piya. And of course… ( glaring at Maithli )…. Your beloved aunt , Maithli. Maithli , am sure you are happy to see Piya, aren't you?
Maithli ( big smile )- Of course, I am, Mr.Raichand. ….(leaving Abhay's hand and going and hugging Piya )….Awww, my little princess. How have you been? ..( bitterly)…. I see you more often here than I do at my pretty hill cottage.
Piya ( sweetly )- I am fabulous, thank you. I came here to….(looks at Abhay)… to…
Abhay ( in a ridiculing but expectant manner )- To see me , right?
Piya ( shakes her head)- No. Not at all. You seem perfectly alright and why should I come here to see you? I came here to see…see … Chaand Uncle!
Maithli grins and raises a bitchy eyebrow while Abhay looks instinctively angry.
Maithli ( sarcastically )- Mr.Raichand? Why? You need better reasons to come to this house… ( looks at Abhay)… isn't it?
Abhay ( darkly )- Aha, sudden affection for my Dad? Awesome.
Piya (defensively )- Were you both watching some chick flick cozying up in quilts that you've come out asking such 'SMART' questions…..( laughs )… just kidding. I had borrowed some books from Uncle's library . I just came to return them.
Chaand ( pointing to two books lying on the side table )- That's right.
Abhay ( irked ) – Sounds more like an excuse to me.
Piya ( retorts )- Excuse for what? Listen, dude , this is Anushka's house as well and my relationship with your parents has nothing to do with my relationship with you and you….
Abhay ( confused )- Your relationship with me?
A jittery Maithli glares at Piya and shakes her head.
Piya ( deliberately aggressive so that his attention is diverted by her temper )- Sorry, my tongue slipped, Abhay. I mean , who are you? I don't need permission from you to come to this house. So, buzz off with Maithli and mind your own business!!
Abhay is furious and he almost lunges at Piya to grab her but both Chaand and Maithli hold him back.
Abhay ( exploding )- The nerve of this chick! Nobody talks to me like that!
Maithli is stunned by the emotion that she can see in Abhay and his cold blood is actually throbbing under his shaking muscles.
Chaand ( scolds him )- Abhay!
Piya ( wanting to fight with him )- Who wants to talk to you anyway? Rude , arrogant , screwed in the head, stone , faced , spoiled rich vampire! Back to your original ways! You are nothing like…..( gulps and realizes that she cannot finish the sentence )…nothing like I would be proud of knowing.
Maithli ( shouts at her )- Piya! Don't you dare….
Piya ( snarls at her )- First teach your boyfriend how to behave with a woman and then, open your mouth in front of me!...You need to control him. Not me!
Abhay ( hisses at her )- Get out of my house, Piya! Now!
Piya ( sniggers )- This is not your house, Abhay. And you are NOBODY to tell me to leave, understand ?
Chaand ( turning Abhay to face him )- Abhay , go back to your room…..( looking into his eyes )…GO!
Abhay looks back at Piya with such turbulent eyes that Piya can almost feel the heat in him on her body. Piya looks at him and her eyes have nothing but angst in them . Abhay turns away and jerks off Maithli's hand who tries to stop him and smashing a Belgian vase to pieces that stands in his way, he runs up the staircase. Abhay can feel Piya's eyes on him and he knows that its Piya , not Maithli but not even once does he turn back to look at Piya. The heaviness returning to his heart , he goes into his room, shutting the door behind him loudly.
Maithli ( looking daggers at Piya )- Listen, you….
Chaand ( standing between Piya and Maithli )- No, you listen! Get out of my house. NOW!
Maithli stamps her feet and goes out of the house. Piya picks up her bag and not even attempting to wipe her tears , she begins to leave but Chaand gently hokds her by her arm and stops her.
Chaand ( calmly )- That was not you, Piya. Fighting with Abhay like that? What came over you?
Piya ( sadly )- Because I wanted to fight with him. So that i can talk to him without letting him know that I came here just to see him.
Piya turns away and walks out of Raichand Mansion, her feet clearly telling her that they don't want to go. Isn't this where she belongs?
On a dark lonely road….
Misha is whistling and driving back home through a lonely road. Windows rolled down , soft country music playing in the car's music system and the fragrance of pines making her smile, night drives were one of Misha's favourite things. She was a happy soul these days , for herself at least. Her friendship with Sam was back, she and T had suddenly become BFFs , Pancchi was in love with her boss and things were looking up for her. And Piya… Misha's face suddenly dropped. No, how can I be happy ? Pouted Misha ,as she took a turn around a curve. Abhay. They all had to protect him and keep him Piya's. But how?
Just then, Misha's cellphone buzzes and she sees it's a message.
Misha ( opening the message)- Must be Mom. Wondering where I am at this hour… ( reads and rolls her eyes )…. Fortune cookie? I need to get rid of these cellular astro services and how ridiculous can it get!...(laughs )… You will meet a tall, dark and hypnotic stranger on a beautiful summer evening………

poco , what an awesome post. this is like the best part of the story so far. I wanted to see a fiesty Piya, and I got my wish. Thank u so much.
