Oh. My. God.
Before I say anything else, I just want to cry because that finale was beautiful. It was beyond perfect and I can proudly say, this is one show which is going to stay with me for a long, long time.
1. Anjali
Yes, I've had complaints with her character but today, seeing her journey, right from NIM to the hurdles she had to face to Everest, this girl has amazed me. I loved watching her grow and growing with her. I learned to believe that anything is possible if you out your mind to it. As Anjali said, only you can decide the height to which you want to go. You go girl!
2. Akash
From the guy who suffered from acrophobia to the guy who stood on Everest and proclaimed his love, he has come a long way too. The way he stood up to Roongta was amazing. You could see that the climb had given him confidence and maturity, something Everest gave him. And might I add, Rohan Gandotra looked particularly dashing in that black kurta thing. I just kept ogling at him shamelessly. π
Also, how cute was he when he said he was scared while meeting Jagat for the first time.
3. Arjun
Out of the three leads, he was my favourite because he seemed most human, prone to error, made bad choices. In him, I saw an opportunity to explore a different character. One who was not necessarily the bad guy, but one who made unabashed choices. I loved that proposal with Reena. I loved the way he admitted that he didn't deserve Everest at this point. I loved seeing him grow from the flawed person he was to now who was still flawed, but this time knew the difference between right and wrong. I loved his dialogue: 'Kabhi police se bhaaga, kabhi pyaar se, kabhi apne aap se'π³
4. That CONFESSION
Yaar, when a guy confesses his feelings to you when you are on top of the world, how can you top that? It was so beautifully done. And their journey!!!! I honestly loved that they showed that roothna-manana wall scene from the NIM days. It was one of the most subtle romantic scenes I've seen.
And also, that kiss was perfect. It said so much. It was just amazing. Best. Confession. Ever.
5. Roongta
HAHAHA. This guy is hilarious. Ek mission khatam hua nahi ki dusre ke liye bakra dhoondne bhi lag gaya.πππ
Also, I LOLed when Arjun said 'Sudharne ke age limit nahi hoti'.
6. Main Anjali ka papa hoon
She changed his thinking, his chauvinistic, dakyanoosi soch. That reunion was well worth the effort.
Throughout their exchange I remembered Maithili's dialogue 'Itne bade uncle jee ki itni chotti sock' and I was glad things changed.
7. Maithili and Vidhan
There was just a glimpse of the two of them but you will be missed too. Especially Maithili. She really is the best best friend ever.
8. Sarita
'Tum ne kar dikhaya'. What a proud mother she must have been. I loved her character. a supportive mother who believed in her child when no one did.
9. Abhyankar
It was heartbreaking to see him lose everything to Everest. Tara, Chand. It was just painful.
10. Chand
'Rassi kat do' and that whole flashback. Chand was one of the best characters of the show. Complex and yet so simple.
11. Execution
I loved this show. It wasn't about vamps stealing husbands from wives. It wasn't about misunderstandings and unnecessary deaths and leaps. It was just pure storytelling about not just three characters, but a whole bunch of them. The show didn't pretend to be something else. It was a story I loved because it was real. Also, I loved that there was stuff implied about Anjali being okay with Maithili Vidhan. Akash meeting the family. Anjali and Shikha Maa being comfortable. These subtle things just worked for me.
A beautiful, beautiful journey. Everest. πππ
