Hello Everyone.
I am Shirley. Starting today, I plan to post an episode analysis thread regularly.
Must say I love the Rajshri flavor of entertainment very much. Yes, I am aware that Kavita Barjatya is branching out and this serial of hers is her own production. But so far I get the feel of a rajshri, so let's leave it at that.
The common characteristics of Rajshri productions include:
1. Eye-candy leads and most of the supporting cast. Think Rajshri, and you get some actors that are soothing to your eyes. The lead is your typical chocolate boy with innocent looks and the female lead is this demure, unadulterated beauty with. Even the rest of the cast is usually made up of instantly loveable characters. Good looking innocent faces are always great mood lifters. After a hard day's work, you want to watch something soothing to your eyes.
2. Simple, sweet story and pure relationships: A must have for a relaxing watch. With all the stress and bitterness all around us, such a show provides relief.
3. Script that upholds our traditional values: At a time when our rich culture, values and our traditions are being eroded and forgotten, this is something that touches your soul. Values like respecting your elders, family togetherness, joint families, living for your family, etc. are more needed today than we realize. Hence, Rajshri deserves an applause for their attempt to keep reminding people of our values and traditions.
4. Neat and clean, yet heart-touching romance: Do i even need to elaborate this point?
All in all, Rajshri provides a good distraction and a fabulous escape into an idealistic world. Who cares if the portrayal is sometimes unreal! I would look everywhere around me if I want to see realities of life. At least once in a while, a show should act like a balm to the soul!
Analysis For Today
This is a comprehensive analysis of what we have been shown so far.
First, loved the intro bike scene. Cool papa-bitiya scene. Next, the families are introduced and there's a subtle contrast. Aryan's father is a strict disciplinarian while Saachi's mother has a few do's and don't's, esp. for her. But both are like coconut, isn't it? Upar se sakt andar se narm..
So, as is the norm in arranged marriages, a pandit brings the proposal to both the families. As luck would have it, both families are attending the same marriage in jaisalmer.. so why not meet there itself? Good plan.. a mutual ground for first meet is always good in this scenario.
Curiosity is killing both of them.. natural, isn't it? And both are being teased mercilessly when they try to sk about their prospective life partner.
I liked the way, the journey to Jaisalmer was shown.. Saachi's family in a bus having a cozy family time. Aryan's family in cars.. maintaining discipline.. It also showed subtly the financial positions of the families. The boy's family is better off.
The hit n miss between the couple was sweet. Also, concern of both sides of parents wrt their kids' marriage and importance of the right life partner is portrayed well and naturally.
Now, lets come to the crux of today;s epi, IMO. Why are kids forced to behave in a certain way, when meeting prospective matches? This I feel is the worst part of arranged marriage meetings. Why don't parents ask children to be just themselves? If they are made to behave differently than what they actually are, how will compatibility be assessed? As shown rightly in the last scene, instead of making a favorable first impression, the reverse happens! Exactly what will happen!
Also why is it deemed necessary to dress up the facts? As Aryan's father says, it's the norm. Why? If you are not yourself satisfied with your achievements and need to exaggerate them, how will the other person respect you? Something to think about, right?
That's all for today. Good night all!
