what choice does he have? I do not think he has any control. He will have to show solidarity to the unit of EMA. he also made a comment that he will quit when the time is right. he does have a signed contract for 1 year

Of course i think he is a fabulous actor. One of the reasons i am still watching this is him and rachna. Their acting and chemistry is mind-blowing

Delhigirl, Ashish always wanted to play this revenge track!! It was the reason why he opted for this show! If you watch his interview, you can clearly tell because he expressly stated it. Secondly, when the viewers were furious, he came on twitter and said, he might have had reservations initially, but then he was happy about it because it meant he would get to enact different shades. And if an actor of his calibre in the sense of the fame he has, has an issue, I guarantee you, they will put their foot down and say listen i do not want to overstep your authority, but my character does not make sense to me anymore, the character you preached to me about, has been lost, can we get him back on track!!! VOILA? Thats all that is needed, he is not asking to change the story just only asking for some sense in his character.

@innocent

I have no problem with revenge track. In fact that should be there. I agree with him on the revenge track but it can be done very smartly. Not the way cvs have done it. I am not sure what you are trying to say to me.

^@^Delhigirl! LOL!! If you sincerely believe Ashish has no choice in stopping his character assassination, then I would state its a naive thought! Thats all!! I won't write too long of a comment, since am confusing you.😃

Yes, you are right. I really feel bad for Ashish, but for Rachna too. Though looking at the positive side, Ashish has not much to lose now. He has already established himself, proved the fact that he is a very good actor, can enact diverse kind of roles, is freaking hot & handsome, and maybe from noon in movies also he may not be limited to comedy only. I would like to see Ashna together again (my sole selfish reason for not wanting this show to end).
But I am sure that since Ashish has, owing to his acting, good looks, screen presence & humble, sweet nature already formed a new fan base for himself, his future for sure will be brighter.

First time I am hearing actors have power in Indian serials. I thought they only had power in Bollywood movies.

Then how so many actors leave the shows when they don't like where the story is heading, Pavitra Rishta was a prime example, Sushant left because he did not want to play an older character etc. Other shows the same, where actors have to stick with the story line or leave. The cvs don't care what the actors think, they either have to accept or leave the show. Why you think so many actors defend the shows on social media, some telling us to change the channel? They have to defend the shows or they won't have a job. It would be more naive to think they do have power.

Totally agree with your views. I cringe for my Gudda...Today was particularly horrible...to hear him mouth that suicide threat...so unlike the Raghav we knew...those silly words instantly reduced Ragav to drama queen in my eyes.

And, now the bilge in the article. What an 80's thing to do. Plus, how dare Raghav put Kalpi in that position...na ghar ka na ghat ka situation...and the old 80's movie title Main Tulsi Tere Agaan Ki" just fits like a glove.

Sad. Very sad! Yeah, I too pray that he quits after his contract is done.

😆 OK!! I only quoted you because I felt it was a reference to me! So dont mind!😆 The show you're mentioned itself its an example of an actor quitting and coming back on her terms (power?) Have you heard of the show MB and its politics of how the male actor got other casts thrown out to acquire more screen space? (I dont want indulge in that too much because I would not want this person's topic to get closed.)- But I hope I cleared the picture for you😆 Rest, to each their own!😳😆

In ref to this topic!

What I would say in this instance ie EMA is, Ashish is too humble to ever dare overstep the boundaries of the makers. They gave him an opportunity and because of that he will never over-step that boundary out of choice, not force. Thats all!! I agree that his character has been butchered and bearing in Raghav was the best product of EMA it does sadden me to the core. He was my only hope when we heard of so many crap twists, but alas, he has severely butchered.

I think we are all saying the same thing.
Agreed that actors do not have control over scripts. In fact that is CVs job.
And I agree that ashish is too humble and feeling that they have Given him a chance.
Anyways we all agree that both ashish and rachana have done a fabulous job.
I will be sad if there characters are further butchered or sidelined just on the whim of CVs
