Yes, he achieved all that, but there's more to life than your professional achievements. Girls who throw themselves at Shravan are interested in what is superficial - his money, his status & his good looks. But his heart yearns for something more deep, for someone - that is Suman. Why Suman? Because he still is very much his teenage self. Suman was the centre of his universe & the kind of connection/bond they had was something he will always hold special. He stayed back in India only for her. And when he realised, that she doesn't need him, he left. Yes the betrayal by Suman was deep & that has stung him to the point that he wants to show Suman that he has moved on, but yet doesn't want to let her move on. There is the bad, but the good moments he spent with her are still very much alive in his memory. He's not had that kind of connection with anyone else. Somewhere I am sure he knows that she didn't do everything intentionally or else he would not be able to successfully play all these games. He knows he affects her, but this time he doesn't want to take the first step. He wants her to do it.

I do agree with you that we shouldn't hold on to teenage heartbreaks etc. But you are also forgetting that a person's core psyche is developed in those days. People who go on to have psychological issues often cite childhood/teenage incidents that affected them. Why? Because you are sensitive when you are young & you are developing so things you see affect you & stay with you. The same way his love for Suman, her betrayal, his heartbreak has stayed with him.

Totally agree with you👏
