Great post. I definitely agree with you that Suman was wrong towards whatever she did to Shravan - be it the everyday snide comments or the actual humiliation that pushed Shravan to eventually leave India. And for that, I find Shravan's treatment towards Suman justifiable & reasonable.

However, I disagree with you that she has no redeeming qualities.
1. She did like him as a friend. He was not just a slave for her even though it appeared like that at face value. Yes, she refused to acknowledge & met him only on the sly, but I think she was there for him in his emotional moments as well & gave him the much needed love that was missing from his life. Also, clearly he was important for her as she shared so many precious moments with him.

2. Suman in her teenage years was bindaas so she said whatever she felt like, without realising the repercussions of it. Somewhere Shravan was at fault too for not pointing out his unhappiness over her remarks & thus she never knew she was wrong.

3. Till today, she has no idea that Shravan's unhappiness & anger was not a one-off thing & that it was slowly building up because she never knew of the intensity of his feelings. She did apologize when she met him, but he told her he's moved on, so what more can she do? If someone says its ok, you don't dwell upon it & thats exactly what Suman did.

Hellooo all... New to this forum. Been watching EDKV since day 1...and am loving it 😊

Shravan at this point is trying to deal with/ get over the unrequited love (childhood crush/feelings) he had for Somu. And Somu is completely clueless about it. When she was a teenager it was jus plain friendship from her end and nothing else. Maybe she never understood what Shravan felt for her. And now as a grown up her hormones are heading in the dhak dhak direction whenever she hears his name or thinks abt him. Maybe her Funda is Dosti=Pyar! She hasn't understood the fact that Shravan is still hurting inside because of their past. She's completely oblivious abt it.

Also I think there is more history to them which they will reveal slowly. Shravan is taking panga for every situation now. He in fact didn't come back to take revenge...he consciously wanted to move on by blocking her out but Sumo doesn't let him do that or maybe deep down he wants to end the chapter called "SUMO" in his life (which we know will never end 😉 😳 )

Suman was wrong in doing what she did years ago. Not acknowledging your friend in public, despite him being extremely friendly, helpful and warm towards you is certainly not something cool. It makes sense if he thinks ignoring her would be the best policy, even lashing out and confronting her with vicious outburst would make some sense.

But, what he is doing right now is worse. Knowingly plotting for revenge, being very calculative about getting back at her for something that happened unintentionally as a result of immaturity only shows that he is still obsessed with that incident in a not so healthy sense. Shravan is old enough to realize how a teenage mind works and planning a shrewd 'humiliation' of sorts for those past incidents looks lame to me.

And lastly, where does Suman not feel guilty? She is always trying to apologize for her mistakes. Since last 10 years, she has been feeling sorry. If she was 'using' him for materialistic gains, then she wouldn't have been on a guilt trip all this while, trying to mend things.

I value friendship a lot & that was the 1st thing which turned me off. She got the dress frm Shravan & he clearly said he wanted to go with her to the prom. But she acted coy, dint say No & finally went with a handsome popular guy. As i said the teen Sumo is vapid & is no diff frm Urvashi. Going by looks & class instead of character. How are we sure that the current Suman truly loves him & not like Urvashi. Shravan is now handsome, successful & hot. I am not saying that Suman is like that. But how will Shravan know that after he left she felt bad & always thought bt him. Acc to him she used him & clings to popular guys. Unless Suman shows her true, loving side Shravan will not be able to forget the teen Sumo.

Yes they do. I never gave excuses for Suman and I didn't like the fact that she hid her friendship. All I am saying is, she wasn't using him. I don't think she manipulated him from all the scenes that were shown of the past. What actually happened on that day might change my opinion but for now I don't think she was using him. She shouldn't have hid but she always was nice to him, defended him when that lady was scolding him for bumping into her. She never asked for the gown either. He gave it because he wanted to. Should she go with him just because he gave her a dress?

Also, even if the future episodes prove me wrong and show that Suman was indeed using him and was shallow, it does not justify the revenge. What matters is what she is now. And she is repentant, wants to make amends for the past which, he is free to ignore if he wants but what he is planning is uncalled for.

What I am trying to say is, he can give her a chance to prove herself or he can completely mistrust her. Heck! He can even shout at her BUT not in public.
That is my issue.
