"Mrityunjay... son get ready. You have to go to your in-laws' house today. Tara is ready. "
"Mom, I got some urgent work from the office. So I will not be able to come."
"Mrityunjay... any how you have to go there!" she said sternly and left the room.
Tara heard this.
"If you are angry with me, tell me, why you are making others angry? You don't want to come to my parents' house? Fine. Don't come. Why are you making excuses? I will go there alone. I will be waiting for you Mrityunjay. If you care for me, you will come."
Saying this with teary eyes, Tara left for her parents' home which was two hours away from there.
"Tara, I can't see tears in your eyes..."
He ran his fingers through his hair in regret.
After Tara left, he closed his laptop and was keeping it on the table when he saw a paper lying under the table. He picked it up. He didn't want it to be a letter but it was indeed a letter... A love letter.
He didn't want to read it but as he was controlled by his mind, he started reading it.
Dear Love,
After college, I had left all the hope that we will ever meet. But as it's said those who are meant to be together to meet anyway.
There was no contact with you for two years and suddenly one day you came to my house with a marriage proposal!!!
That day I felt I got everything that I wanted.
My five-year-old love was accepted in such a way that I had never expected.
The past two years I lived with a hope that by any chance if I ever get to hear from you, but God was too generous to me. He gave you to me.
"Ahh... Yug proposed to her for marriage!!"
He was hurt even more after reading about the proposal.
"If he loved her then why didn't he marry her?"
"If I would have been the person who she loved in college, I would have never have let her go. I would have proposed to her in front of the whole world."
"He proposed to her. But she married me. Why??"
It was becoming confusing for Mrityunjay to understand what went wrong between Tara and Yug that they didn't get married. Since yesterday his brain was not in a position to understand anything so he left thinking about it and again started reading the letter.
But the next few lines he read very fast. He read the next part of the letter, again and again, to confirm whether he was reading it right or it was just his imagination. After reading it ten times, he was still in disbelief if what was written was true. He took a short breath and read it loud enough to hear himself but this time slowly, reading each word with a slight pause between them.
