Anas Rashid is an Indian Television Actor who was born on 31st August in Malerkotla,Punjab. He has done his Schooling in an Urdu medium School & later has done Post-graduation in Psychology i.e. M.A. in Psychology. He's knows various languages like Hindi, English, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish & French. His mother tongue is Punjabi. His father's name is Md.Rashid & mother's name is Najma Rashid. He's 3 siblings- 2 elder sisters & 1 younger brother. He's the eldest son of his whole joint family. He's very foodie being a North Indian, but at the same time, he's also fitness-freak. He makes it a point in his life to exercise or do yoga following a proper diet. He's very much fond of travelling & very adventurous. He's travelled various parts of India on Bike, like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Sikkim, Mumbai. He's a huge Bike Lover. Career

Before entering the Industry as an Actor, he had been a Chef & owned a famous Restaurant named "Mehrab" in his hometown. Later he went on to become the Winner of the title "Mr.Punjab" in 2004. It was then that he got encouraged by friends & family, he came to Mumbai with the Dream of becoming an Actor. He entered the Industry as a Model first. With that, he started getting offers for many Punjabi Music Videos. In 2004, he participated in Mr.Punjab competition and won the title. Thereafter he did a number of Punjabi music videos which were popular those days. He decided to try his luck in acting.

He was noticed as Manav a young student in Aahat.

Anas Rashid, got his break through in the country's most talked-about late-night show Ekta Kapoor's 'Kahiin To Hoga' on Star Plus as Kartik Ahluwalia, a business tycoon and the eldest son of Tinu Anand. As an angry young man with a trace of villain Anas grabbed the attention of million hearts.The show received good responses from everywhere. Though Anas portrayed the character well, his voice was dubbed by another artist for his Punjabi accent which did not suit the character. This made him work more on his accent and his diligence made him master Hindi accent. It eventually helped him to grab the lead role in the next soap he has been a part of.

Prithviraj Chauhan - Historic Epic Drama Producer - Sagar Films From the makers of the epic Ramayana and Hatim, after ten years of painstaking research, came another period drama - Prithviraj Chauhan. Based primarily on Chand Bardai's Prithviraj Rasos, the Sagars present the story of this fascinating character for STAR Plus.Prithviraj Chauhan is one of the most interesting and powerful characters of Indian history. His name is even today associated with the virtues of Rajput valour, chivalry and patriotism. His bravery on the battlefield was unmatched and he was known to be virtuous and principled until his death.The warrior king as he was popularly known, was in love with his enemy's daughter-Sanyogita. He rode off with her on the day of her swayamvar before the watchful eye of her father.His story highlights all the important aspects of life-duty, bravery, patriotism, friendship, family and romance.The series divided into five phases and trace the life of Prithviraj right from his birth until his death. The series is set in the 11th century but introduced a more modern look with respect to the treatment of the costumes, production design and language, while staying true to the original story. It maintained a fine balance between the authentic and the contemporary.

It was the role of Prince Prithviraj Chauhan which gave him all over recognition as a versatile actor. Through this role, Anas grabbed millions of hearts and received good critical reviews. For portraying adult Prithviraj, he did really burn many midnight lamps. He lost his weight, improved his accent, learnt fencing and other methods of fighting and also has grown his hair for making himself fit to the character maximum possible. His work received good critical acclaims and admiration from everywhere.

Next role that immersed Anas into was Yashvardhan from Aise Karo Na Vida which aired in Colors TV. It was a romantic soap deciphering the love story between Prince Yashvardhan and his wife Reva. Yashvardhan was a naive, romantic man who kept trying to earn love and trust of his wife Reva who was struggling to adjust between the royal lifestyle and her mournful past life. Beyond all expectations, Anas handled the role so beautifully that people forgot his image of Prithviraj and accepted him as Yashvardhan. Even today Rev Yash Jodi is loved and cherished by fans of Anas

Though this show called off air prior than scheduled time Anas took his time to select his next role. He denied all his calls from IPKND and Mahabharat and signed with SSP House and waited for nine months for the shoot to start. His waiting didn't go waste thus we got Suraj.

Portraying Sooraj Rathi, the male lead of Star Plus's most popular numero uno show Diya Aur Baati Hum which created history in Indian TV industry for being on the top most position for very long period, ruling TRP charts for years.A man of modest education helping his far- well qualified wife achieve her career goals, barbing ridicules from the society. Suraj's story promises to make viewers sit up and take note that it's about time men support their wives in pursuing a career and realizing their potential without they being labelled a "Joru Ka Gulam"Anas has an innate ability to get under the skin of the character. He's one of the most instinctual young actors around today. Anas Rashid a well known name in the television industry playing Suraj in Diya aur baati hum like the character a shy simple down to earth person came to Mumbai in 2005 trying his luck. After many hardships and struggles he got his break through with Kahin to hoga. Like Suraj with sincerity and dedication he worked in his other shows Prithviraj Chauhan and Aise karo na vidaa. After king after prince he waited for nine months to play this jilebi wala with the stern belief that
this role will take him to the new height in his career

The love and respect Anas has for his parents especially for his Ammy is phenomenal. He trusts the advice and guidance of his mother will never ever take him in the wrong path. Fitness Mantra

Anas lives on the 16th floor of his building and he makes sure not to use the lift at all. He climbs up and down the stairs more than three times in a week to burn calories.

To add on, the actor makes sure he consumes lot of fruits. Anas eats seven fruits of different colours for his breakfast.

What are the investments you have made?

Till now, I have invested money on properties. Recently, I have bought a house each in Punjab and Mumbai. I don't believe investing money in shares and gold. Till date, I don't wear gold and diamond accessories that are meant for show off sake.

Three mistakes you don't like to do.

I would never pass a comment on anyone's religion because I don't like it when people do the same to me. I think religion is a personal issue and we should maintain its sanctity.

I would never want to yell, scream or shout at a woman. Be it my mother, my sister or my wife.

I would never like to go against my parents and take any decision in my life against their wish for their love is so unconditional that I cannot think of hurting them in any way for I might have to regret it all my life.

If given a choice for your next birth, what would you like to be- Astronaut, Actor or Architect?

Definitely an actor. Because as an actor I'll get to play the other two roles too. Being an actor lets you pursue other dreams too. I feel we actors are the most pampered children of God.

Your inspiration?

My inspiration is my mother. All of the mothers are special but my mom stands by me and actually speaks up for me in front of my friends and especially family members.

Anything you like to collect?

Yes, DVDs of foreign films. I can go to any lengths to get the one I want. If I like a foreign film then I'll call my friends all across the world and somehow get it.

What is your specialty in cooking?

Non-vegetarian dishes like Butter Chicken, Palak Mutton, Kabab, Safri Kabab, Koftas are the special dishes I cook.

About his Harley Davidson!

I have ridden so many bikes before but riding Harley was satisfying. I want to explore the world on my bike during Diya Aur Baati Hum. I have already joined HOG (Harley Owners Group) and whenever I will get some good time, I would like to go along with them and explore the world

Your most memorable birthday till date?

Has to be today where I got gifts from all over the world and all thanks to the India-Forums team for being the bridge between my fans and me and handing over the gifts.

We told Anas that, the fans of India Forums have created a birthday thread for him. A delightful Anas told us, "The fans of India Forums are very dedicated, loyal and aggressive fans who are always ready to fight with the people who say anything against me. TheFirst Impression

It is said that Learn to Expect the Unexpected. It's true in my case. Being associated with his website never I thought in my life I will get an opportunity to call and speak to the man himself. It wasn't just an opportunity but a memory to cherish, and never it will perish from my mind.

Back in mid-February last year I was assigned to make a call to Anas. I hesitated. "Talking to Anas, ohhh nooo" said my mind voice. But there was no other go.

After sending a short text to Anas, I decided to dial his number. My hand was literally shivering, feeling nervous.

His phone rang, but there was no answer. I tried again for the second time and finally I heard a reverberating "Hello"

I said, hello, Anas???

"Yes," was the reply.

"I am Vasanthi calling from Bangalore"

"Yes Vasanthi, tell me what can I do for you?"

I introduced myself. To make him "identify" me, I had to explain about the specific gift I sent for the New Year to him.

He immediately responded, "ohhh yes I remember, and I was so touched to see that gift,"

And to my surprise, he went on saying, "I am very sorry, you are elder to me and I called you by name, sorry,"

I was stunned and couldn't believe my ears. A famous TV star with so many fans following apologizing to someone who he didn't even know! It touched my heart.

Unable to speak much, I said, "You can call me maa as I have two Suraj like sons.

He laughed, it was the same hearty laugh we hear offscreen. And that was followed by a sweetest simple reply, "Sure maa"

The way he spoke, his manners and humbleness, the very first impression he created within me on that day melted my heart. Anas became my eldest son on that day.

The simple down to earth understanding human being a person who has answer for every solution on his own way, and analyse life to the deepest level,

an actor who always on the verge of searching for ideas for his better performance and

the thirst to learn all the technicalities of the industry and

sometimes the naughty lazy fun loving man with a hearty laugh

is the Anas I came to know about.

I'm proud of you son. Happy Birthday!!!!
