Popular actor Akhilendra Mishra, who belongs to the golden era of TV industry, says today all TV shows look the same.
"We can see everyone doing the same thing and following each other. Today all TV shows look the same. Whether it is the make-up, the look of the show or the pattern of shooting everything is similar to each other. In fact, so many times the content of daily soaps are also similar to each other. I've been a part of the golden era of Indian Television and we had so many good shows made then. From Ramayan, Chanakya, Chandrakanta, Hum Log, Buniyaad, Malgudi Days toUdaan there's no end to the list of shows," said the veteran actor.
Akhilendra, who became a household name as Kroor Singh in fantasy show, Chandrakanta and is currently seen in Diya Aur Baati Hum, says that marketing has taken over creativity in TV shows, " Today marketing has taken a front seat and content is left behind. Everyone is just interested in making money. It has changed everyone's mindset. Today when you switch on your TV sets, you will never see the poor in daily soaps living in slums, they will always be shown living in a lavish house. That's the reason people enjoy these shows so much overseas. Creativity has got lost somewhere in this money making process. I think it's high time people should think about making content heavy TV shows," concludes the actor.
