Just connected few dots to make a story .

" That's all for now " , said Dylan , as he flashed his charming smile at the screen.
" You were watching Current Affairs.
This is Dylan Singh Sekhawat taking leave.
For more information , stay tuned to Right Now News. " , he maintained the smile until the lights focusing on him went out and Santosh , the cameraman , moved his left hand away from the camera to raise his thumb at Dylan , signaling him , that the shot was good.
" Sir ! " , Dimple called out , before Dylan could move away from the news reader 's desk' . " I have completed this file , and all you need to do is - "
" No , Dimple " , said Dylan , raising his index finger , which had become his habit , one that was totally drilled into his intincts. He often raised his index finger while explaining his point , without even realizing that he was doing so.
" I will not check any file. I am on leave today , and I came only to shoot for today's telecast . "
" But Sir - "
" No , Dimple. No way. " , repeated Dylan , as he made his way towards the exit.
Dimple slomped down on the chair close to her , her elbows on the desk , as she groaned , burying her face in her hands.
Her work had just increased. She would have to finish Dylan's work as well. Its not that , Dimple wouldn't be paid for the extra hours that she would spend working , but then , who didn't want to sit back and just enjoy the monsoon ?
Dylan seriously needed a worker that would work as his equal , thought Dimple .

" Wow ! Just amazing " , Dylan exclaimed as the ever freshening smell of the orchids filled his nostrils. He paid for the bouquet of blue orchids , and moved out of the nursery , to head towards the confectionary shop , for the chocolate cake he had ordered.
It was Sophie's birthday. Only if she had been there with him...
He would not let her absence disturb him , and would celebrate her birthday just as he had promised her - gifting her the best blue orchids which was her favourite flower , and watching her favourite movie , Knight and Day , at his home , while enjoying her birthday cake.
He was waiting for the shopkeeper to pack the cake , when his eyes fell on her.
Dylan could bet that the girl that had just entered the shop , and had ordered for pastries was Sophie , had the differences not been so distinct.
She was dressed in a half sleeved , long white kurti with a print of several multi- coloured flowers, reaching down to her calf muscles , paired with sky leggings. Sophie would never dress like this. She was very confident of her body and loved to wear vest tops with shorts.
This girl now standing beside Dylan , had lustrous black curls flowing down to her waist , while Sophie had shoulder length , silky , straight brown hair. Sophie was not as tall as him but was about two-three inches taller in comparison to this 5ft. and about three inches , tall lady.
Her eyes - noticed Dylan , as she now glared at him weirdly , were chocolate brown , in contrast to the striking black orbs of Sophie.
If Sophie was attractive , then this new version of hers was downright beautiful. The eye contact made his heart beat in a faster rate. This , now ,was new. He had never felt this way in Sophie's presence before.
Dylan just couldn't look away from her. What was so ...different ?
Different ?
Was he already comparing this girl to Sophie ? Why ? What was so intriguing about her that this comparision had come up without a warning ?
He tried to think , what had made him turn to her in the first instance.
Oh Yes ! Yes ! Her face.
Dylan would not say that this curly head was an exact look alike , but her facial features were quite similar to that of Sophie.
She could not be Sophie in some sort of a disguise , right ? Or , maybe she was ? Then what about the height difference ? Probably it was there because Sophie always wore high heels , whereas this girl was wearing flats.
He watched as the lady paid the shopkeeper , took the box of pastries , and walked away , throwing him a snide look as she crossed him.
Dylan could not let her go if she was Sophie.
" Sophie ! Hey wait " , he called out after her , stopping her by the arm and turning her to face him. " Why are you ignoring me ? "
She looked angrily at him with those chocolate brown eyes , and pushed his hand away , rudely.
" How dare you ? " , she snapped at him , " First you stare at me and then you gather the audacity to grab my hand ? " Her voice would have sounded like soft music , had she not been angry.
Dylan was well aware of the fact that if this was Sophie , then this behavior was just expected of her. Her lashing out at him just made his belief stronger. But he was not taking her stupid tantrums this time.
What was she even thinking , vanishing away after... that day , and suddenly appearing now with all this new look , and acting like he were a stranger to her ? Had she even given it a thought , how had he survived all these days , without her ?
He felt himself losing his temper.
" Don't act like we do not know each other , Sophie " , warned Dylan in a voice matching her anger.
" Are you crazy or just too drunk , Mister ? " , the girl accused.
Dylan would have argued until he made her agree that he was right , that she was Sophie , if a phone call had not interrupted them.
He pulled his phone out from the pocket of his jeans and found the caller to be his boss , Mr. Mirchandani. Holding the i-phone in his left hand , Dylan brought forward his right hand's index finger to cut the call , but somebody tugged at his sleeve from behind and did not let him do so.
It was the shopkeeper's son , a boy of about seven years , that informed him , " Your order is ready. "
" Yeah , little one , just a minute " , said Dylan with a small smile , and turned back towards the exit to find the curly head gone.
" What the hell ? Where did she go ? " , Dylan huffed , as he rushed out into the street , but found no sign of her. " Seriously Sophie ? Is this a game of hide and seek ? "
Only if that boss of his had not called , he could have bugged the truth out of her. Why did Mr. Mirchandani have to call anyway ?
As if on cue , he called again.
" What ? " , scowled Dylan at once , without even offering a Hello !
But Mr. Mirchandani did not mind and even apologized , for disturbing him while he was on a leave. He apparently had to inform Dylan that , a young journalist named Debjani Thakur , was joining their channel tomorrow for which he would have to reach office early.
Dylan assured his boss that he would be present without fail.
Driving back to his home with Sophie's birthday cake , Dylan resolved to find the curly head as soon as possible , because he was sure that the girl was indeed Sophie , and hoped that everything would be back to being perfect again.
Probably the thought did not cross his mind , that - nothing is perfect !
