I appreciate where Dylan is coming from but...

I've been seeing a couple topics discussing how unfairly Dylan has been treating Dubbu. But I think it's quite the opposite actually. Granted Dylan had a first impression of Dabbu before he knew that they were going to be working together, but he is not basing his decisions on them. He tells Aseem and Dabbu that it is because of Dabbu's work ethics that he is doing what he is doing. And i completely understand that. He gave her a chance too. When they were talking in his office and he asks questions about how she landed the job. He was a bit mad at first about her using her "resources" (mhmm hypocrite), but later he recognizes that if you can then why not. But Dabbu couldn't form precise words or didn't seem confident when answering his questions and she looked a bit nervous and on top of that she spills the water. And when she is leaving she pushes the door instead of pulling. You can just see Dylan's frustration with her, hell even I'm frustrated with her at this point.

I do want to say that I don't like the way Debjani is presented at all. I have not read the book but I hear she is not like this in the book. I don't find it cute that she is reckless or absentminded like 90% of the time. I am not a journalist but I am pretty sure that this kind of behavior doesn't work in journalism. Then, the bathroom thing and the DVD thing happens. Honestly why are they making Debjani act so childish. I don't like this writing. Dylan is so sensible and practical and Debjani is mad opposite. This is not the "opposites attract" trope I want for DebLan. It's baseless and quite embarrassing for Debjani. I wouldn't want someone to read the news if they can't even read a bathroom sign either. Her care for animals is a really great addition to her character but she seems very flawed. She needs to stand her ground. When Dylan gave her the perfect opportunity to her to show her capabilities, she didn't jump to it. She is honestly given so many chances to prove herself but she never comes though. If she had, her steps toward becoming an anchor would have been much easier. She would have probably started out small but she would have still had something.

Okay so let's turn the tables and talk about where Dylan went wrong. Yes he is sensible. He was absolutely right to yell at Debjani when she failed to even capture a picture. I understand why she didn't but in his eyes she is a journalist and journalists take advantage of every opportunity to have any kind of scoop. However, the one thing don't like about Dylan is that when he yells at her, he crosses the line and kind of attacks her. As I said before, it's a good thing when he is criticizing her work ethics but when he was saying how come such a great judge's daughter turned out to be so, well essentially, bad, it was too far. There was no point of him to say that. That was a jab at her personally more than professionally. Then when he is yelling at her for not having any proofs from the disco situation, he went too far again. He can't just comment on how she is such a horrible person in front of so many people, her colleagues nonetheless. Where did your professionalism go now Dylan?

heyy welcome to the forum
i completely agree o ur points
dylan goes beyond proffesional lines may a times
however,i think,he is doing this so as to put pressure on debjaani so that she hands over the lobo mansion to dylan
this is my point of view
how much dabbu tries to make things good,he pulls her leg
i think his attitude is directly proportional to his mansion's case
either by hook or crook,he wants to fetch his hereditary lobo bungalow back

I agree with you... I have read the novel.. Debjani is sensible and not absent minded in the book.. Her stars are in suptavastha but she is not.. They are over playing the childishness card..
Dylan was shown ruthless and short tempered but that too in his professional life.. In the novel when Dylan realises he did some wrong to debjani, he helps her and makes up for it..

I think his attitude differs when he's talking to Dabbu as an employer vs an opponent. But he does goes beyond professional lines to hurt Debjani, which is what I have a problem with.

yes!! it annoys me so much that she is seen as nothing but a child at the grown up's table. It's unnecessary and she could be a phenomenal character if we focused on her potential strengths rather than ONLY her weaknesses.

Excellent post! !
Any professional will get angry at someone like Dabbu who is holding a senior Post. She is yet to prove her talent which she will soon. And office mein yeh kaafi common hai. Very soon dylan will help her out .he did cross his line but also forgave her for her major blunder.
