I am not judging whether what is being shown is morally right or not. From what I have read of her, her interviews , offscreen clips and what her former coactors say about her she is a very bubbly vivacious childlike quirky person She is also very emotional and sensitive and hardworking. She has a big heart as her former coactors have said. She can also be very blunt and outspoken and is a risk taker. She is also short tempered.

I find some posts on this forum in addition to judging the character of Teni are also directly or indirectly judging Jasmin which is unacceptable. Please don't mix reel with real. Some people say she must be a favourite of the producers or she knows them personally as her character has become the central character on the show. I don't think this is the case. She is new to the industry . This is only her second show after TEI and she said she was approached for this show because the producers saw her play the bubbly fiesty character of Twinkle in TEI and thought she would be good to play Teni as Teni also possesses some of these qualities. Jasmin also possesses these qualities in real life. Indian soap opera producers generally seem obsessed with negative grey or troublesome characters as it makes for more drama and allows them to stretch a weak and superficial story. In her previous show the fandom complained for months when her character of Twinkle and the male lead were sidelined in favour of show the negative lead Yuvi literally taking over the show

Jasmin comes from an upper middle class family but she appears fiscally responsible and seems to think sticking with a show till the end is a good work ethic. She stuck with Tei right till the end although the storyline was butchered in the last few months She is also aware she is new in the industey and does not want to break professional relationships. She is also a risk taker as she hersrlf has said who likes doing challenging unconventional roles These may be roles that other actors might not take up to protect their image or not offend their fanbase. She did mention that other more experienced actresses were approached to play Teni but did not take it up. So maybe for all these reasons she is still with this badly written show though frankly these are not good enough reasons to stay. However I do admire that as an actor she looks for roles that are challenging and unconventional. She played the positive lead role of Twinkle in TEI who was a modern fiesty girl initially. Teni is a completely different character with grey shades and was not even a lead initially but a third angle/third lead. She also had no problem carrying a child onscreen. Even in TEI she was pregnant before the writers wrote it so she lost the baby I don't admire actors actresses who just want positive roles, glamourous or pretty roles, don't want to age onscreen or become parents onscreen. Short of the issue of being type cast or if it crosses limits you have set for yourself or you just really like and are good at portraying a certain type of character, you are artistes who should be able to inhabit or portray any character if the script is good and the character is interesting It will only help you develop your skills and connect with a wider cross section of people

The problem isn't about the portrayed of negative or positive role. Rashmi Desai played negative role in Uttaran (I never like the series) but her acting was always praised and was very powerful. Her screen presence often overshadowed other actors. There are many iconic negative charectors and people relate to them. But here,Teni is not a negative charector as per story. She is shown as a goddess of sacrifice and true values. And whole family was shown buried under her ehsan of surrogacy. The surrogacy thing is portrayed so wrongly. Ipshita is called Parth and Teni daughter, this isn't what surrogacy is. It's shown ipshita is like Teni which is biologically wrong too, this show is one of the most badly written shows on Indian tv. That's what make it unwatchable and people who loved it initially feel cheated.

I fully agree with you that the show is badly written. I was just commenting for those who also seem to be bashing the actress herself whether directly or indirectly

I really loved the onscreen and off screen chemistry betwwen Jasmin and Sidhant. Anyway I have a soft spot for them I guess so I casually keep myself updated about their projects. They are the only celebrities I have ever followed offscreen along with Zain for some reason and TEI was one of the few indian serials I looked at . Even though they butchered the show and even the characters at the end as they do in most of these shows still stuck around for them

Anyway I just wanted to say that I have noticed some negative comments against Jasmin herself in this forum like she may never get another show with a good production house or she acts like a wooden plank First off all in Tashan e Ishq her acting was not very good initially though she was a natural at comedy and bantering However I think she and Sidhant made each other better onscreen and she improved in emotional dramatic and romantic scenes even though there was still some inconsistency . This is just her second tv show after TEI which lasted for a year and 3 months ( though she has done some films in the South) so she is still relatively new to the industry. So I think it is harsh to criticize her acting or future career prospects like this I briefly looked at one or two scenes of the show on tv but the cliche treatment did not appeal to me. Also I really don't like her portrayal of Teni whether it is not the right role for her or the writing and direction are at fault or it is really just her portrayal I found Teni over the top overly loud and irritating from the begining, even if she is supposed to be from a rural uneducated background. Anyway the critique on her acting seemed like a criticism of her acting in general but just wanted to say this is not the case as her portrayal of Twinkle in TEI was really well done. She should also improve over time with more experience though she needs to work on being more consistent Thanks for reading :)

Good to read that you have realistic perspective about Jasmin and her acting unlike the blind fanboats here who think that she is epitome of good acting and the show is running only because of her. As you rightly pointed out, this is just her second show so it is obvious that she won't be able to carry a badly written character and make viewers feel for her character. Only experienced actors can do that. The problem here is, the experienced actors were totally sidelined in this show and the comparatively inexperienced actress was given centre stage. Not to forget that those two were the main leads and Jasmin's character was a third angle as you pointed out in the other post. To make things worse for her, the writing was absolutely horrible. I haven't watched TEI, so I can't comment on that. In this show, Jasmin was good in comedy as well as light hearted scenes but she totally sucked in emotional scenes. It might be character's shortcoming too, but her acting was ineffective as well. Now people will obviously judge her acting and criticize it when 80% of time only she is seen in the show. Receiving criticism on performance is part and parcel of her life as an actor. Why should she be given clean chit because she is inexperienced? The end product here is looking bad and she also has share in the failure. So I don't think criticism on her acting is wrong.
Regarding her personal life, family background and whatever else, I don't think anyone in the forum has anything to do with it. No one here is going to interact with her personally that they should know how her personal life is. We are bothered only as actor about her and we have solid reasons to conclude that she is being favoured by the makers. Despite two other actors who were much senior than her and despite them also being leads, it was only her character that was given all focus, so much that those actors had to leave the show because they were not given the tracks that they were promised.

I agree with all your points. Jasmin's portrayal of Twinkle Sarna was just magical! She played Twinkle with such grace and brilliance! Twinkle Sarna still remains my favorite character! SidMin were just magical. Her emotional scenes were always on point back then! Makers had written her character beautifully! Initially , childish, stubborn , impulsive then to a mature, caring , understanding , loving! I can't praise Jasmin enough for playing Twinkle!
But when I look at DSDT , this makes me bang my head! I don't know what did I even expect from this show.

I hope Jasmin does great work ahead!!
