That was great, I had visuals in my mind as I was reading the story, but can you edit your original post and paste the story and update the original post so people can read the story directly instead of going through the comments?

Part 2

On his way to his room, Parth stopped at Teni's room and decided to peep in. As he knocked the door, Teni opened it with a cheerful face and welcomed him. Parth looked inside. There was his daughter Ipshita, lying on the bed in a playful mood. A heartfelt smile automatically appeared on Parth's face as his eyes fell on her.

'Come in Parath, she is still awake' said Teni.

Parth hesitantly came in. Teni walked towards the bed and picked up Ipshita.

'Look baby, who is here, your papa. Papa's princess, tell him that we both were missing him. And we are angry with him because he didn't remember us even once in the whole day. We were waiting for his call, weren't we?'

Teni faked anger while talking to Ipshita as she handed her over to Parth.

Parth took his daughter into his arms. Three months old, she had already started recognizing her father and responding to sound of his voice. She babbled as Parth caressed her and called her name. For a moment, Parth forgot all his pain looking at his little angel who was smiling widely in his arms. Her eyes were like her mother Shorvori's, big and dark black. And her smile, was it like her father as he used to tease her mother, Parth was instantaneously lost in his thoughts. His face turned pale once again as he remembered Shorvori.

Teni knew it was time for her to intervene.

She looked at the life size portrait of Shorvori in her room. For a moment, it felt to her like Shorvori was smiling looking at her. Teni always drew her strength from this photo of Shorvori, whenever she felt low. Even now, she composed herself and went to Parth and Ipshita.

'Ipshita baby, it is time to go to bed. Be a good girl and say good night to your papa and your Sarvari mumma.'

Teni tried her best to break the silence. She took Ipshita in her arms and turned towards Shorvori's photo hanging on the wall.

'Teni please', anger and annoyance filled Parth's voice as he heard Teni addressing Shorvori as Ipshita's mother.

'There is no need to do this drama. I am tired of it.. What exactly you want to prove by doing all this? My family wants me to move on, but I don't. In case you have forgotten, let me remind you, I can never forget Shorvori and can never give her place to anyone else in my life. Why are you doing all this then? We have already concluded it mutually that you will be called Ipshita's mother, then what is the point in bringing Shorvori in between? If you think that you can fool me with your twisted words, then you are wrong!'

'Parath Bhanushali, why do you think I am doing all this? Ipshita may not be my own daughter, but I have nurtured her inside me for 7-8 months. I care for her as much as you do, or Sarvari would have cared. I agree when she was inside me, I didn't have any feelings for her.. I was never bothered for her.. But when I held her in my hands for the first time, I realized the meaning of motherhood. I started caring for her slowly, I started loving her like any mother would love her own daughter. I know I don't have any rights on her legally, but I want her to know about her mother. I want her to grow up listening to stories of her mother, feeling her presence and blessings all the time. Do you get it? Now go and sleep, Ipshita and her Teni mom need to sleep as well.'

Parth stood there speechless for a moment, he had so many things to say, but he couldn't. He simply turned around to leave.

'Parath', Teni called him, her voice concerned. Did you eat anything?'

Parth left from there, without even looking back. He was hurt, he was irked, he was frustrated with himself, he didn't know what he was doing.

It felt like ages to Parth, what it took him to reach his room. He shut the door behind him as he entered inside. He didn't want to be disturbed by any other thought now. This room was his solace. It looked dull and lifeless without his Shorvori. Still, it had memories of her in each and every small corner. Every single thing in the room reminded him of her. Every smiling picture of her on the walls made him smile too.

He removed his shoes and reclined on the bed. If Shorvori was there, she would never let him sleep without changing into his night suit. She would take care of every small need of him. But such things didn't matter to him anymore.

He took her photo kept on the side table in his hands and caressed it fondly.

Why did you go Shorvori.. I am so lonely without you.. My life has no meaning without you.. Four months have gone, and there hasn't been a single day when my heart didn't cry for you.. I had never imagined my life without you.. I still can't believe that you have left me forever.. Why did this happen to me, Shorvori?

He knew her absence was going to haunt him for rest of his life. Days felt like ages without her, and there was no light at the end of this dark tunnel. There wasn't going to be any healing for this pain. The void that she had left behind was never going to be filled with anything else. That was the hard hitting truth of his life now. He has to face this reality alone. But was he strong enough to face it? Will he be able to overcome this grief ever..? Or he will have to live his whole life carrying this pain, this loneliness?

Tears started rolling down Parth's cheeks as he couldn't control his emotions any more.

Shorvori, you taught me everything but how to live without you. How will I survive without you.. I know I have the responsibility of our daughter.. I promise you I will give her all the love and care that you would have given as a mother.. I will look after her whenever she needs, but who will look after me? I am lonely without you Shorvori, I am so lonely..

Like every night, Parth had to lie down in the bed for hours before he finally felt asleep.

*****

A week later.

On his flight to Mumbai, Parth was staring at the clouds through the window pane of the aircraft. He had to attend a business meeting with his client in Mumbai. It was almost a week long tour, and Dadaji had asked him to attend it, for it would bring in some change in his daily routine, away from Baroda.

But Parth's mind was not in his control. It was a couple of months after their marriage that he and Shorvori had flied to Mumbai. He had some work at their Mumbai office, and Shorvori had accompanied him. The golden memories of that trip were still afresh in his mind. It wasn't going to be an easy outing for him this time.

His meeting went well the next morning. The client looked satisfied with Parth's presentation, and he was going to revert a day later. Parth had an entire day to spend in the unknown city among unknown people. He decided to kill his time sitting in his hotel room and asked his driver to drop him at the hotel.

It was sunny and clear outside. The hot atmosphere was adding to traffic chaos. Driver was skilfully finding his way through narrow lanes as pedestrians, street hawkers and sometimes even stray animals crossed his path. But Parth was too disoriented to pay attention to the scene outside. Suddenly a jerk by abruptly applied breaks brought him to his senses.

It seemed like somebody was hit by his car while crossing the road. The driver had tried his best to stop the car, but it couldn't save the person from getting hit. Parth immediately got down to check the situation.

It was a lady who was lying down there, her face downwards. Crowd had already gathered and was speculating all possibilities. Without bothering for them, he went on to check the lady who was injured.

She looked unconscious. Parth bent down and turned her carefully.

He was immensely shocked and surprised as he saw her face. She was Shorvori!!!
