Hair today, gone tomorrow | |||
Pssst...did you know this? Most macho men on the telly have a secret to hide under their suits and tees.....there's a clean shaven chest under those fancy threads, and it's got nothing to do with being a metrosexual. The bare chests are required so that rustling chest hair does not transmit unrequired sound into the microphone tucked away in the insides of the shirt!
Channel [V] Top 40 host Purab Kohli sighs, "Trust me, it's painful to shave off chest hair. I use a trimmer and that's much better. I have heard women telling me that they like it this way. So you see, I find it cool too!" Chaitanya, better known as Kahiin To Hoga's Akshat, retorts, "I don't shave my chest. So I don't know what the feeling is like." Miilee's Ajay Gehi refrains from doing this. "I don't vouch for it. You might think I am a little old fashioned, but I don't prefer it personally. It's just an excuse when people say that they had to shave because they will get a rustle during their dialogue delivery. If actors didn't have to do this in the past, why do it now?"
Parmeet Sethi, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin's Casanova, has a permanent solution to his bear chest. "I have undergone a laser reduction treatment so I don't have to worry about that unwanted hair." Gaurav Chopra adds, "If people think shaving off hair is metro-sexual then that's wrong. I consider myself lucky - I am blessed with very less chest hair!" he laughs. "Besides, shaving your chest would just mean showing your bare body if you are a gym freak." Pawan Shankar also doesn't need to shear his chest for Siddhanth, he insists, as he too doesn't sport much chest hair. Gaurav Chanana, the lead of Hey...Yehi to Hai Woh!, has a difference of opinion, "Shaving doesn't make one essentially lesser a man. I personally don't get time to pamper myself as my work is too tedious. If given a chance I think I would not shave my beard to begin with either....it gets on my nerves!" |
