Thats a very good analysis, Rtms!

This shows where exactly the fault lies with the channel! I completely agree with you that all Sony shows hold a lot of promise in the beginning and till a certain period of time and then suddenly they seem to run out of fuel and fizz away without fully exploiting the potential they seemed to have initially.

I completely agree that Sony's shows are fast-paced, but I dont feel that should be a problem till the essence is not lost. In fact, fast paced shows are interesting as they dont test the viewer's patience. For example, before the arrival of cable television in India, Doordarshan had fixed number of episodes per show. This not only helped the maker decide the pace and content, but also helped the channel bring various shows and genre to the viewers and also gave each show a fair and sensible ending. No wonder then that most of the shows were landmarks in the respective genre and remain etched in the viewers' memories till date. This simple methodology doesnt seem to find resonance with today's CVs and Channel Heads!!

Perhaps, the one thing Sony's shows miss is a good and sensible closure to each show that would allow viewers to carry good memories of the show with them forever.

Sony needs to change the people in control now!
