First things first, Ram Ahuja is finally out of the case once & forever, thanks to Mehra father - son duo ( Sooraj, Ayaan).
Seems like the makers were bored with this track and just wanted to wrap up it up... Creative liberties were just too many to count and the session court judge must be felicitated for his super fast verdict ;).
Ayaan looked defeated even before the hearing is completed, he had given up arguing. Why didn't he argue that whatever evidences the prosecution case, everything are circumstantial, and there is no concrete proof that Ram is the culprit. The Indian legal system doesn't expect a accused to prove that he/ she is innocent, it expects the police & prosecution to prove the accused to be guilty.. But here the judge asks Ayaan for proof, and Ayaan meekly admits that he has none. All for what.. For that one dramatic moment when Sooraj rushes into court, gives the letter to Ayaan and Ayaan mightily interrupting the judge's sentence reading.. Our soaps thrive in dramatism ;). Let's be glad that it wasn't Sooraj who interrupted the judge ;)
And Ayaan miraculously provided the forensic certificate for the letter.. When & where he got it forensically tested, and doesn't he need the permission / knowledge of judge for the forensic test? He & senior did talk about the forensic test over phone after he collected the letter from the houseowner, the senior told him to bring the letter for test nest day.. Then we had seen him entering Kapoor house where he lost the letter, ok. Let's assume he took a deviation before before coming to Kapoor house and got it verified.. But would the forensic lab finish the test in few hours? And if it is a government authorised forensic lab, wouldn't they need court & police permission to do the test? And wouldn't they have made a copy of the letter for testing which Ayaan could have submitted for buying some time until the original is found?
As I said, too many creative liberties, but let's leave all that. The judgement is reversed and Ram Ahuja is pronounced as Not Guilty...
Amidst this drama, there was one pearl of a scene, between Ram & Ayaan, Ayaan apologising to Ram about the letter fiasco and Ram 'magnanimous' Ahuja blaming it on his fate. There was something very genuine about the scene and the emotions portrayed by the actors.. Hats off to both of them.
Btw, Barkha was an extra fitting today in the court scenes ;).
While the court drama was playing, there was some moments of enlightenment happening with our dear Disha.. She, for a first time in a long while, wondered whether there might be a grain of truth In Ayaan's claims about her father and she felt uncomfortable hearing her Nanaji's callously talking about death sentence for her dad.. Her breakdown with AK was realistic, this is what we have expected to see, the confusion, the doubts.. AK knows what to say when, how to get Disha around. And he is one consistent character, doesn't matter how Anu died, he wants Ram to suffer, for taking away his daughter..
Ram is truly a magnanimous guy (for all his other faults). He doesn't want any ego clashes, he just wants his kids and he believes he can get them back by showing the letter (how will he feed them., cloth them and school them is another question altogether). Yes of-course, the guy who even forgives the people who cheat on him, how will he ever hold grudges on his own flesh & blood. Ayaan stopping Ram visiting Kapoor house and promises to bring the kids to him,
Precap : Disha doing parallel processing, reading the letter and crying ;). Our AK not ready to listen to reason, he doesn't care whether Ram is guilty or not, he wants the kids with him.. Very typical of him, and why do I think Disha would feel torn between him & Ram...
