At a broader perspective, there is nothing much happened today, but there were something to relish in every scene.. The actions and reactions of each family member, their interactions, the pain, and the valid questions raised, the episode had everything, the parental love, the hopeless & hapless struggle of the husband, pain, anger and also the indomitable strength & bonding of the Ahuja family..

The episode started with the cute little Aarav, who is not old enough to understand the gravity of the situation, he is certainly a stress reliever to Anu. Disha is older and mature, she understands their predicament, but she is still too young to bear it without bursting out her pain and anger in her mother for hiding the state of her health. I expected Disha to not to vent her anger to her mom, as Ram explicitly told her to be supportive to her mom, but I guess she is afterall a teenager, can't really keep emotions bottled up inside like how Anu (and Ram too infront of the kids) does. Yes, her hurt & feeling of betrayal is natural. A very realistic scene, Anu asking Disha to take care of the family, her father and Aarav. It is too much to ask of a teenager, but what else Anu can do :(. Disha telling it is not her job and asking Anu to comeback home to do what is her own job.. I don't know how many times I will tell, but a very relatable scene with genuine emotions..

As expected, the specialist says it will cost 10L upwards for the treatment, but the chances of recovery are very less. Ram's reactions were subtle, but painful. His friend asking Ram to think carefully as he had already spent a lot for Anu's treatment 2 years back. Ok, one thing about the friend, I guess it will take a while to get used to this character, I didn't see any chemistry between Ram & him, he almost looked scared of Ram, made me miss Vikram (Jai Kalra) of BALH and the great chemistry he had with Ram Kapoor ..

Ram observing his family having a lighter moment by making fun of him... Though he is pained and also worried about money, he makes an entry with a cheerful face (the mask borrowed from Anu) brushes off Disha's concerns and packs the kids off to home.. Yes, he doesn't have the luxury of showing his sorrow :(. Disha is not convinced, asks again the friend, but he too brushes off.

Ram - Anu never cease to amaze me with the naturalness of their relation, they are so open with each other.. A typical soap lead would hide from his wife about the cost of the treatment, but Ram doesn't, he tells her the truth (about the cost, not about the survival chances), when Anu questions how will he manage, he shuts her off saying it is his problem and instead of 10 L, even if it is 10 C, he will arrange...hmm, such is the power of love.. Ram already mentioned once that he can't hide things from Anu. Hence it makes sense for him to tell her about the cost..

Ok, the one unrealistic scene or rather dialogue.. I have encountered lot of nursing staff in my life, never interacted with someone who so openly talk discouragingly.. Some nurses might indirectly give their honest opinion, but only if they know the patient well and for a long time. But what I liked about the scene, Ram expressing exactly what the audience (in this case, myself ) would feel. What kind of nurse she is to talk like this.. Ram trying to encourage Anu by citing the advancements in medical science, Anu retorting medical science can fight cancer, but not death and very naturally Ram getting irked with her continued negativity (how much he can bear, he is trying to keep the hope up inspite of Doc's not so favourable prognosis). Ram bursting out in anger when Anu wants Ice cream, (they used the dialogue from promo here, 'Am I a battery operated thing'), but finally agreeing to buy icecream for her. Natural emotions, portrayed by two stalwarts.. Do I need to say more?

Disha got a lot of screen time today.. She is very mature and sensible, she put her brother to sleep so nicely, and she got plagued by the memories.. Beautiful FBs, and Mahima was again very good in the scene.. (the FBs made me feel, Anu is not going to survive long from now)

Disha comes out of the house as the memories inside are tearing her up, she encounters Ram there, probably he too needed sometime to vent out his emotions in solitude.. Again Disha expressed what was in my mind, how could Ram leave Anu in the hospital, Ram tells there are nurses to keep an eye on Anu and that Anu fought with him.. ( they could have added one more reason of Ram telling that he wanted to check on the kids). Surprisingly Disha takes her mom's side this time (Disha playfully blaming Ram for the fight... Is it an indication for the things to come? Are the kids going to blame Ram when Anu finally passes away? Hope not..). A beautiful scene between the father - daughter with daughter teasing about her parent's love story, the whole family bonding is so natural but Ram - Disha are an extra delight to watch.. Honestly, I didn't expect Ram to share about the cost of the treatment with Disha, but I guess Disha is considered as mature by Ram and Disha does live upto the responsibility..

Precap : Ram arranging some money from whatever left of his savings and Aarav contributing from his piggy bank. At the hospital, Anu trying to end the family's troubles by pulling off the oxygen mask and IVs.. :(

I thought it was just me, that missed Vikram today :( Even though it was nice of him as a friend, didn't sense the bond I sensed with Vikram and Ram. Anyways, let's see what happens next with this guy.

Mahima was fantastic today, she is really talented. Was a definite delight watching Ram and Disha- make an excellent daughter and father. Adorable <3

Anu was also good today. Loved her scene with kids/Ram, very cute and realistic. Reminds me of my mom all the time telling me, as a teenager, to look out for the house and my siblings if anything ever happens to her. Even I sensed that either this week or next week will be her last week shown alive in the show- seems to me she is gonna die fairly soon.

Lovely scene with Aarav and Disha. They make such an adorable brother-sister. Can definitely see this bond becoming even more stronger in upcoming episodes.

Overall, this was a great way to start off the week. Hope this week's episodes continue to be as realistic and as touching as today's episode was :)

Thank you Geetha for your take. It was a good episode, carrying forward from last Thursday. Excellent portrayals by the actors which makes the scenes relatable and brings a lump to the throat.

From Ram's pain, helplessness and yet not wanting to give up, scolding Anu for wanting to give up and the way he handles his children...beautifully portrayed by Ram. We sometimes sympathise so much with the patient that we forget the pain the caregiver goes through...A scenario which is prevalent in the real world too.

Anu wants to go, she puts on a jovial front before her family and yet in private, the pain of having to leave her husband and children is so evident. Imagine all the beautiful moments she will miss out in the lives of her children. Gurdeep brings out the emotions so well.

Disha is trying to be mature and yet, she is still a kid. The flashbacks show how much pain she is going through. Loved the way she asked her father to be honest with her and how she takes care of her brother. Well - done, Mahima. Would love any boy who comes into her life to be a friend and confidant, rather than a romantic interest.

Little Aarav...you feel sorry for him. He's too young to understand the gravity of the situation and yet, will probably be hit the hardest when his mom dies. The little boy acts well and you empathise with him.

I'm glad that Ram and Anu are honest with each other...a refreshing change from the BT heroes and heroines who hide everything from each other! Also loved the way Ram and Anu are handling the children right now. It will probably get more difficult handling the children as the days go by.

Geetha, I too missed Vikram today! Let's hope a month or two down the road...We still have good things to say and talk about this show, fingers crossed!

Good post.

A very realistic episode today I feel.
Disha and Anu's talk was very real. Disha wants her mom to come back home. I think Disha is mature and responsible but she still needs a mother.

I loved Ram and Disha's talk. I love their bonding as father-daughter. :)

Precap is ohh noo.. Anu took off oxygen and all, it's very disturbing and sad. :-(

Yeah Sanjana, I think the friend charcter has a lot of role to play in the upcoming tracks, and I hope the chemistry improves with time..

Mahima is very good, and I am really glad the makers cast her in the role.. Considering the fact that Disha has a major role in the upcoming tracks, casting of this role was hugely important and the Mahima is doing full justice to the role.. Ram & Disha are the real protogonists of the show, this is truly an unique show to have the father - daughter duo as the protogonists..

The whole family is so good, the charcters are so real and close to our heart..

So very true Sugnanthi !! The pain & anguish of the spouse is often forgotten / overlooked in such situations, But here they show equal importance to the emotions of all the charcters and actors are doing complete justice to it..

For now, Most charcters including Mr. Kapoor are shown to be multifaceted and deep. that's a very good thing in a daily soap..

Yes, if the kids are indeed going to be with the grandfather for a while, Disha needs some moral support to handle the stress and also the responsibility of Aarav.. Hope this friend charcter provides it... I would not like to see a romance for Disha anytime soon...

Yes, the epaiodes are continuing to be relaistic and it is a very good sign.. Hope the trend continues..

We all need our mothers whatever the age maybe, and here Disha is just a teenager, her needs for the mother is so evident., but the fate is cruel sometimes. :(

Though I don't approve of Anu's action precap, I can so well relate to it... :(

A spur of the moment thought.. I think Anu's action of removing the Oxygen and IV would force Ram to concede to her wish of letting go.. He would probably realise that his attempt to force her into the treatment made her desperate to end her life so-that she can somehow avoid Ram spending the ill-afforded money on her treatment,.

With the story is progressing i can only say that makers will show the death sequence Anandita very soon and Ram will need of support and only his daughter Disha and his friends will able to provide it.

You are right, Aanchal, I too think Anu will pass away soon and Ram would be in need of support..
