My Take
Frankly, this was another nice episode. It was just awesome. It had the right mix of everything - anger, frustration, grief, pain, love, hope, despair, nostalgia, responsibility, helplessness, will, strength, weakness, hence the title, cocktail.
The scene between Anu and kids was very cute. Disha is angry, and Anu tries all tactics to pacify her and compares her to her Dad. Well, it is true. Aarav very cutely helps his Mom, sadly, he is the one ignorant about everything. I feel so bad for him. Anu's pain is evident, yet she smiles, smiles and smiles.
When Anu gives Disha the responsibility to take care of everything, I almost wept. Disha refuses. Well, very obviously. As a teenager, she doesn't want to take up all the responsibility. She says so. Secondly, she doesn't want her mother to leave her, hence declines and tells her not to talk of such things again. Anu reluctantly agrees.
Such a cute mother daughter duo was shown there. A mother who is helpless at the hands of death and a daughter who is helpless at the hands of love for her mother, beautiful.
I loved how they interspersed some comedy there, some light hearted moments. These moments made it all the more worthwhile and send a strong message that, keep smiling even during adversity. Never lose hope.
It was funny to hear of the burned omelette and rice not cooked. Anu apologizing for not being there, isn't justified, since, we tend to put all the burden on the lady of the house, yet, it was nice in its way.
Ram is still dejected about the money, and he sees the cute family time sadly. But, he walks in with a huge smile on his face.
*huge applause for this scene*
It was brilliantly executed. Ram didn't want to look helpless in front of family, and he also brought hope with him.
Another strong message - Face the day ahead of you with a smile adorning your face. It may not solve your problem, it will give you more strength to face it.
Don't all of us do this? Leave all our problems behind at home, go for work or resume or daily routine with a smile to face the world?
Disha, being the older one is inquisitive about Anu's health but Ram packs them off. I felt so bad when the doctor had to give some false assurance to Aarav that his mother would be okay.
On the same hand, it was so mature of Aarav to ask the doctor uncle about his mother instead of troubling his parents. Very nice.
AnRa scene as usual, stole the show. Anu very jovially saying, get a warranty instead of a guarantee and Ram looking all grumpy was so cute and so sad at the same time.
He yells at her. She pouts and demands for cassatta ice cream.
In this show, everyone comes and yells at Anu, though she is the one who is sick, and she faces it boldly. This isn't bad since they are bringing out their frustration which is totally normal and Anu being the strong person she is can handle it.
Ram vows to bring even crores if need be. True lover.
Regarding the ice cream, I am not sure if cancer patients can have such things because it generates heat in the body, and it is ironical and symbolic that she asks for something cold since her body is burning.
But, it doesn't matter what Anu eats. She is going to die, anyways. So, I guess, she has lost it. And, that despair was very heart breaking, but was natural.
Disha's character has been given a lot of importance here, mature, strong yet breaking. I hope they don't kill it with some boyfriend crap. I wish they would have already shown her with a boyfriend instead of getting her one.
She putting Aarav to sleep already shows she is stepping into her mother's shoes. It also indicates the impending disaster when in the process of managing the house, Disha loses herself. It was also seen in her thoughts, in her solitary scenes...
Ram - Disha talk was amazing. Disha asks him not to hide anything, and he truthfully replies. The thing about love story ka movie was cute. She scolds him for leaving Anu was responsible behavior.
On the whole, show is progressing in the right direction. No Kapoors again today.
