Ok, Let me start with a confession.. This is the first episode of the show where I couldn't connect even a bit.. I watched today's episode with a sense of detachment.. Nothing made sense to me.. Wondered whether I am watching the same show which I was watching in the last week and half..

The one realistic scene of the episode.. The shopping scene, the girl gang shopping, guy gang cribbing, and the typical male Ram wanting to buy without bargain..

Ok, there was another scene, between Mr. Kapoor and his other daughter. Mr. Kapoor not able to stop thinking about Anu and the other daughter very smartly said what he wanted to hear (or rather what is in his mind) that she does love her sis very much, but can't bear to see Ram as well as ' love is there, but not forgiveness' .. I loved the way Mr. Kapoor asked his daughter why she didn't keep in touch with her sister...

My detachment for the episode started with the first scene, it was the continuation of Ram monologue/ confession. Though I did like his yesterday's outburst, today's was an overkill and it was just too filmy.. And the restaurant owner's reaction added to the filminess, it was just as expected, he got melted with Ram's sob-story and let him go... Wish I could find such tender hearted restaurant owner and take all my friends & neighbours for a grand treat ;)

We were shown the Ahuja family waiting at the hotel room. Another unrealistic scene.. Though Anu was worried for Ram, she & Disha were completely sure that Ram is not going pay for the dinner, but somehow managing the situation... If they know it so well, how was it possible for them to finish the dinner at peace and then return back to the hotel.. I just don't understand...
Then Ram return, and another unrealistic reaction from family.. All very much know that why Ram was delayed and what caused the blue black marks (btw, these marks disappear miraculously the next day during shopping) on his face, Disha wanted to fight with the restaurant people for abusing her dad and Anu is thankful that they stopped with beating and not sent him to to jail.. What a family.. Very unique indeed... Where there is a need for serious confrontations, there is absolutely nothing..

During the shopping, Anu faints again with bleeding from mouth... And the market people claims there is no vehicle available to take her to hospital (I thought Jodhpur is a city?) and Ram goes to bring the doctor.. Here comes the next minor villain and unnecessary drama. Don't we have enough trouble already with Anu's sickness, Ram's recklessness and Mr. Kapoor's vengeance? Do we need more trouble? The makers think differently, they made a small time villain out of the doctor.. He refuses to visit Anu, and Ram after a round of begging goes into violent mode.. He tries to take the doctor forcefully.. What happens next, no prize for guessing... Hospital staff locks Ram in a room and Doc asks them to call the police.. Ram is busy banging the door and on the other-side Anu is still unconscious.. Overdramatic and unrealistic sequence .. Now I am sure the doc will call the same police guy, Ram will somehow get away, but another blackmark against him, and then the same police guy will be called by the FIL's lawyer as witness during the custody case to provide witness of Ram drunkenness, recklessness and also violent nature... Too good, isn't it?

Ok, I missed another dramatic scene, back at Mumbai we get to know that Ram and co hadn't paid the house rent for the last 4 months.. Great going indeed...

As I said, it is an episode of contractions.. Where there was a need for serious dramatics, they made it light (family's reaction to the restaurant problem) and when there was a need for straightforward handling (the doctor scene)they are overdramatising...

It is pretty obvious the light hearted fun moments are over for a while, the show is moving to another tangent with the precap showing a specialist telling Ram that Anu's treatment would cost 10L and Anu talking about her third wish.. Buck up guys, bumpy ride ahead !!

Hey Smily.. Nice take as usual. You covered a lot of points I missed out. :P Ya, I would love to take my family to such a restaurant.. Anu's reaction the restaurant issue isn't even serious.. It was as if a joke was being shared. I don't understand why the are trivialising important matters? I actually like FIL... Shopping scene was fine. But, Ram hasn't paid rent for months but goes on a holiday. Did he think how the same wife would feel if her kids have no roof to stay? Btw, Disha is going to have a love interest. :/ I don't like it one bit... They'll start introducing new characters and story will go for a toss.

I agree!
I couldn't connect as well in this episode, and it seemed a bit unrealistic to me in ways.
I didn't like how Anu took the whole thing lightly, she obviously seemed worried but she didn't take it all seriously. Like, in reality, if a middle class family was struggling with their finances, and they afford a trip to Jodhpur, god knows how much that costed, and then coming into a total bill of 40k? The wife's taking it so lightly?
I realize the Jodhpur trip was just something for Anu's happiness and all, but she herself doesn't know the cost?
I don't think Ram realizes to the fullest of how their future is going to turn out, with no house to live in? And it's not just their house, eventually they will be really struggling to pay a bunch of other things. And if Ram doesn't understand that, as a wife, I think Anu should be trying to get such sense into him and getting him to realize that their financial state is not good.

I somehow cannot get my head around the fact that the family didn't pay rent for 4 months.. There is no way Anu doesn't know about it, and if she indeed knows, how she asked to take for this trip..

I have resigned myself to the fact that Indian shows doesn't work without a romantic angle, since Ram can't have a love interest, who else but the daughter can have ;). But doesn't she look like a 14 year old kid?

Hope it is not a serious love story, but more of friendship and support.. Interstingly, it is mentioned that ther pair is the son of a driver.. What if he is Sooraj's son? I think it is a huge possibilty ..

Anu is leading a middle class life for 18 years, she should have known by now that money doesn't grow in tress ;).

I think Ram does have a job to pay the bills, I somehow feel the makers are exaggerating the financial ssues, there are too many things that doesn't add up..

Hope the makers tighten the screws now an come up with better quality episodes..

Good observations. The writers have good days and bad days and hence, some episodes and sub-plots stand out and others take a nose dive. They better pull up their pants and dish out interesting and close-to-real-life situations or else be responsible for the trp trailing behind.

Cancer treatment is really expensive and i wonder how Ram will come up with a solution to pay the rent, school fees, upkeep of the beautiful(?) apartment as well as the medical fees (or maybe he has a good insurance plan).

Just my two bits to join the wagon.

Thank you.. Yes, the writers have good and bad days.. Wednesday was a result of bad day and Thursday episode was that of very good day 😊. Hope the good days continue..

I don't think Anu would agree for treatment, as the doc said the survival chances are minimal, she would decline to undergo treatment.. But yes, too many problems are going to crash onto Ram's head simultaneously..
