My Take
I finally saw the BD. Too bad they have started that, and so with other normal, clichd nonsense in TV serials. Very obviously, hotel manager leaves him because he is a deewana'. Trust me, no one would do that, even on grounds of humanity, because, humanity nowadays extends only to sympathy. Anyways, Anu wants to check on him but he comes in. She asks him how much he would do for her.
I don't have issues with BDs as long as they don't interfere in the essence of the scene and the acting is not suffering.. Yes, the restaurant owner's reaction was unbelievable..
I don't understand one thing though. As a couple, shouldn't Anu know how much money Ram has brought with him to the trip? Don't they plan it together? This is another thing. Why did she even ask to be brought here when she knew they were short of money?
Yes, this question is getting stronger and stronger day by day,.. If the finaicial situation is so bad, why did Anu express the wish of coming to Jodhpur.. I can undertand why Ram couldn't deny her wish, but Anu seemed more sensible, why did she ask for it..
Wishes can be fulfilled by jinns, not normal people struggling to make ends meet.
Anyways, they are shopping. And these two men watch. Nice scene it was. Contrast, they showed their home, where the owner has come in to collect the rent and Ram's house is locked. We come to know he hasn't paid rent for four months. He is absolutely right when he says they haven't paid rent but have gone on a holiday!
I understand what the doctor is thinking. These people don't know Anu is dying. Well. They don't. The owner doesn't. But, it isn't his fault Anu is dying. He has mouths to feed. He needs to feed his children and look after his family. He, too, may love his wife as much as Ram loves Anu. Can the whole world come to a standstill because one woman has cancer? I am sorry, but the world doesn't work like that. It shouldn't. So many people have so many issues, they fight it out themselves. They need to. We can't keep blaming fate and all.
I think the makers are overdoing the finaicial struggle part.. The rent scene was totally unnecessary.. The family situation didn't look as if they couldn't even pay rent.. Seems the makers are hellbent are over dramatising.. But yes, I agree.. Everybody has some or other issues, the world doesn't stop revolving just because Ram's wife is sick,.
On one hand, Ram hasn't paid rent, on the other he is paying 500 bucks for some painting that Anu thinks is worth only half the price. Empty vessel? I am really not liking this.
In the second episode, when Anu said, we have just removed money from the account, never saved. It was understandable and realistic that these people are a middle class family, they have savings. But now, it seems as if, these people are impoverished peasants with nothing at all! Makers must realise the definition of middle class has changed. I am from a middle class family, we have had our own set of problems, and I have seen so many middle class families, none of them are in such a financial state, even a family, where the earning member has survived from cancer.
There is a lot of divide within middle class too.. The family is supoosed to be lower middle class, not all lower middle class would have saving, but that doesn't mean they are living a hand to mouth existence.. Again, I feel the rent scene is unnecessary.. Looks too unreal .
Anu falls. Finally, we see some serious issue here. She hasn't got up this time, like last time. Ram runs to the doctor and like a typical government employee that dude is disinterested. Even then, temper is not something that would work there. Ram' characterization is pathetic. You can feel how useless his attempt was when Aarav asks Disha, what happened to Mom and whether she would be okay or not. I felt so sorry for the poor kids. They have no idea what is going on.
I think they were leading upto the Anu's condiiton worsening sitauaion at a steady phase.. There was a step by step detoriation... After seeing the precap, i do think the chemo wasn't started . As I mentioned in my take, I found this scene with doctor overdramtic and unnecessary.. I think most people in Ram's place would behave the exact same way.. People can't behave rationally when they are under stress and tension.
One guy I actually like in the entire show is Kapoor. He is seriously awesome. Kudos to Pankaj Dheer for such acting. Calm, balanced yet in turmoil. He loves his daughter. He cannot stop mentioning her, in conversation, but he justifies himself that, the relationship has been burnt.
I too like his acting, but the character is immature not just to hold onto his anger but also for destroying Ram's career which inturn affects his own daughter's life.. I can undertand if he behaves this way during the first couple of years, but still holding on to the vengeance, totally immature..
The precap finally comes to the point of the show. But, again, Ram is shocked with the amount of money he needs. In the initial episodes, he tells Anu to be prepared for treatment and tests and everything. We were led to believe they could manage their finances with planning. But now, it feels, he is someone who is in dire poverty which is NOT middle class.
As I said, theere is a huge divide between middle classes..
P.S. Does Anu look or seem like someone who plays billiards? She seems so homely. 😆
Hahhaha, appearances are deceiving , you know
