I'm pretty sure Ram will become more responsible after Anu's gone because one he got drunk today and second Anu's with him and takes care of everything with them so right now he doesn't think all that, what say?

My pov. :P

From what he says to the hotel owner and police in the last scene...We can see his grief and helplessness, even though he tries to be normal in front of Anu and keep her happy. Just guessing the future storyline based on media print, I think they are showing a man who can fall to the pits because he loses his Rock of Gibraltar and he was not able to save her. Perhaps her third wish is to let her go peacefully and he fulfils that but it haunts him with guilt, causing him to further slide down. Today's scene could just be Ram's desperate attempt to make his wife's last days happy and he isn't thinking of the consequences and this may come back to bite him when he's down after anu passes away. Of course, I'm not sure if the creatives have thought on these lines but I'm just guessing that they may be thinking this way.

We don't like our leads to have such flaws but I think they are going to show ram this way if they are planning to show him rise later on with support from his children. They did say that they would show the child becoming the parent at times...just guessing this is the daughter they are talking about.

Excellent acting by Ram (especially the emotional scene at the end), Gurdeep (the bathroom scene) and the kids (who thankfully behave like kids) and the father-in - law. Anu's dad is justified in feeling the way he does because as a parent one wants the best for one's child. Just wish he realises that he needs to let the bitterness go because soon it will be too late. Guess this will make Mr Kapoor even more bitter as he may blame ram for anu's death.

Hope the creatives keep it simple and engrossing. I don't mind a finite series where things don't drag and the story can be told in a good pace.

I agree with the finite part. I want the show to be a short series not dragging unnecessarily. They acted well. But why should they show someone wasting away money, when you don't have any! That is so mean, and so cruel, if you think from the hotel's perspective. They have lost out on so much money. I don't think Anu's Dad should forgive him.

Gurdeep's role is a cameo of 15 episodes as per what was mentioned in the interviews. It's supposed to be a short but impact creating role. Gurdeep mentioned she will come back to shoot for flashbacks when required.

Probably. Anyways, Ram usually acts really well when drunk. But such illogical things they show, zaps viewers' interest. I wanted them to show how a middle class family fights cancer realistically. Finance is something, extremely mismanaged in the show. I don't understand why we expect Anu's Dad to give him money! Why should he? It is Ram's responsibility to provide for the kids! FIL's responsibility ended with Anu! Still. I don't know where the show is going. They need to be back in Mumbai.

Absolutely! His children, his responsibility! If Anu's role is going to come to an end fairly soon, first off, they should be saving up. And what about Aarav and Disha? Disha may be old and mature, but she is also a child and she will require a mother figure in various occassions in her life. It's so sad. Aarav is maximum 5-6, how are they going to handle him? Moreover, without a mother/wife, the family will break down into pieces financially and mentally. I feel like after Anu's death, a lot of tension will be created between FIL and Ahuja's.

I don't think Anu's father is justified in hating Ram,. Yes, what Ram is doing now is foolishness, but to cut him some slack, he is under lot of emotional turmoil . The wife he adores is slipping away, that could make even the strongest of men to go into bits.. On top of it, he has to hold it all together with a smile in his face for the sake of Anu and kids..
And human beings don't always act logically when they are chagrined with so much of emotional trauma.. We can't relate to it becusee we are thinking logically.. For him, it could be that his thinking capabilities are impaired with the grief.. And he just want to make Anu's last days happy and he had gone over reckless in that thought process.

There is no indication that he had always been like this (before Anu's illness). Though I can emphasise with Anu's father as he seems to geunubely miss his daughter, his level of vendetta against Ram is totally unacceptable, didn't he relaise that he blocking Ram's professional growth also impacts his own daughter, or he wants to punish her for choosing Ram over him?
What appalled me in yesterday's episode was not Ram's reckless behaviour or even his drinking, but his dishonesty.. If he had money (even if it is what remains from the sale of violin), I could undertand it him spending it even if it could affect his and his children's future, afterall he is risking his own life, and maybe he is confident that he can earn back.. but, he spending something he doesn't have is nothing but cheating.. Even if he has a sob story, why should the restaurenat owner pay for his foolishness..

To be fair to Ram, the way his family loves him, am sure he has been responsible towards them in these 18 years. There hasn't been any mention of Ram not fulfilling his responsibilities towards his family and they seem genuinely close and loving.

From Anu's outburst in a previous episode, it's clear that her cancer treatment 2 years ago has drained them emotionally and financially. It's going to be a struggle and I guess that forms the crux of the story of how the lives of Ram, Disha and Aarav change after Anu is gone and how they emerge from this tragedy.

Yes, I agree..

My major wish now is that they don't butcher his charcter anymore.. I can see that alcoholism is going to be an issue later in the show, but can they show him getting addicted to alcohol after he loses the kids to the FIL and not before. That will somehow make the charcter look less irresponsible

Are you guys sure, they are going to show him drowning in alcohol? :P I think it was just that one episode. I am not going to jump the gun. xD There is a lot of time for Anu to die and that's why I am not looking into the custody aspect now. :P

Anupam Kher's charcter in the movie 'Daddy' was an alcoholic.. And this show is supposed to be inspired from Daddy.. Anu is not going to live long.. Gurdeep memrioned in one interview that her role is for 15 episdoes, after that she may have to shoot for some FB scenes.. She also mentioned that she is due in August for her second baby. That certainly won't allow her to shoot for long.. Even now, in some scenes, her tummy is visible..

I haven't watched that movie... Only 15 episodes? Wow. This is news. So, it is basically the story of Ram and his kids... Cool. Oh. She is expecting? No wonder, she looks like she has gained a lot of weight... xD Then, I agree. 😛
