Another fun filled happy go lucky episode amidst the impending storm.. The makers are hell bent on getting us hooked to the charm of this adorable family (so-that we can't help crying for them when the tragedy strikes???? )

Anu is killing us with this cheerful mask she wears as part of her makeup, there are times you wonder 'Can this woman be real, how can she be laughing and making fun when she talks of her death'.. But the mask doesn't stay intact all the time, beneath the mask, you get the glimpse of the pain and fear..

The first scene at the hospital garden.. At first glance, it may look the makers are trivialising a very serious subject of cancer and the grim possibility of death.. Anu in-fact was nauseatingly cheerful when she talks about fighting with god once she reaches 'Upar' for calling her so early. And you may also wonder how can Ram take her nonsense talks with a little smile of his own.. When I think over it, I can come up with couple of explanations for this behaviour,,

1) This is cancer relapse, meaning these guys had gone through these motions once already, they think they know what they are getting into, and they are determined to do with a minimum of fuss.. But do they really know what they are getting into,.. The threat of death is very different from the actual death, isn't it? And when the reality strikes, Ram is going to be left all alone to handle (or breakdown)... #deep_sigh.. What can we do except feel for him...

2) I also feel, Anu's cheerful mask is not just to fool her kids and hubby, but herself too. The mask helps her to somewhat ignore the reality and live in clouds of froth.. After-all, no one really want to be in such situation, isn't it? But is it really possible to fool one's ownself day in and day out.. Absolutely NOT, that's why the mask slips often and we see the pain & fear behind the facade..

Ram says he accepted the fact (did he really?... Time will tell..). But want to try the best... Very much understandable, and he asks for one wish of giving him 1 day out of her every 20 days for chemo.. Hope her third wish doesn't clash with his this one wish..

The one aspect that strike me throughout the episode was the casual intimacy between Ram and Anu... The years of togetherness comes out so naturally, there is nothing hidden between them, they can anticipate each other moves and reactions so well.. Hats off to these two actors for bringing out this aspect so well, especially to Ram.. His body language and voice modulations are just damn perfect..

As expected Anu's second wish is to visit the place of their first meet.. Jodhpur, here we come..

The mother - kids moment was so sweet, and I was as touched by seeing them as Ram.. The little Aarav is one hell of a firecracker, his special attachment to his mother is heartwarming, but I shudder to think how bad this innocent kid is going to be devastated..

Biggest blooper of the show so-far, no cancer patient would be healthy enough to go for a long train journey and sightseeing just a day after chemotherapy, the recovery time varies from person to person, but we can safely assume they will be incapacitated at-least for 4/5 days.

The bedside convo between Ram and Anu is another master piece, Why do I get this scary feeling about Anu's third wish.. And this is one of those rare moments where the pain is seen through the mask..

The scenic beauty of Jodhpur is just awesome.. The family once again astonishes me with their so normal and realistic banter.. Not every dialogue and convo need to be meaningful, sometimes family just have idle chats, it came out so wonderfully here. Kids are so eager to hear about their parents love story..

My most favourite scene of the day... Ram tricking Anu in enacting their first meet, oh god how cutely adorable this guy is... and the kids joining hands with him in tricking the mother ;)

Anu attempting to stage an accident.. I really don't think she intended to commit suicide all along, most probably it was a moment of madness, the sudden impulse to take the easy way out.. My first reaction when Ram pulled her back.. How did this guy cover so much distance in couple of seconds.. But when I look back, I think they hadn't shown him for more than couple of seconds before the incidence, and maybe, just maybe he sensed something sinister in her even before she really thought through it.. Hadn't it happen to all of us sometime or other, the ability to read someone else's mind, especially the mind of someone who are close to us for years,. This where the years of intimacy comes to the fore.. (or it could be the classic case of 'creative liberty').

The intense hug after the near miss, though Anu takes a crack at why couldn't he let her take the good opportunity, we can see that she is visibly shaken after the ordeal.. Yes, it is obvious she hadn't think it through...

The classic Ram Kapoor 'what is wrong with you'.. I doubt whether anyone can deliver this dialogue so perfectly... Ram was incensed, which hubby wouldn't be.. Anu challenges him to tell the truth infront of the kids,,. Poor guy, instead he had to accept punishment from kids for shouting at Anu.. I honestly wanted to go into my tv screen and tell Aarav, why don't you let him off the hook this one time because he also saved your mom.. ;)

Frankly I am not a big fan of these situational comedies about fatness.. Though Ram did the situps and cheating adorably, and family had a gala time with pant tearing at seems,... Nay... Not my cup of tea..

The one scene between Anu's father and the driver Sooraj (I assume he is a driver becusee of his dressing) reiterated the point that Sooraj has some crucial role to play later.. Pankaj Dheer is a seasoned actor, doing a good job showing hatred towards daughter and SIL.. His hatered for Ram is going to increase multifold after his daughter's death.. And there will be an additional guilt of not making up with her when there was a chance.. That will make his behbaiour worse...

I have a strong feeling that kids will come to know of the truth before they leave Jodhpur,. Yes, indeed it is calm before storm !!!!

The need of the hour is a serious conversation between Ram and Anu.. I am slowly getting tired of they way they are skirting around it..
They need to have the talk ASAP and together should talk to the kids..

Nice take Smily. (Don't know your name... xD) You have put across some points I didn't think about, in my take. One is, Anu is fooling herself. I see her acting as kinda OTT sometimes... :/ But it is also because, her over acting could be because she wants to get over her cancer, somehow... Fooling herself and family. And ya, they need to talk to the kids.. Serious convo, between Ram and Anu, well, I am not too interested in that. I'll enjoy if it comes, otherwise its fine. Because, it is natural for people to divert the topic to trivial issues and never go for the ''talk''. Happens. Suraj? Don't tell me they'll show some nonsense about Suraj being the Dad. I'll kill them if they do that. But, there is some role to him apart from being loyal, I think... Hope it is not Anu's Dad. And, Aarav is so cute... They should tell the kids. Its only fair to prepare them. I never thought about Anu wanting to take her life, and I still don't think... That way. What could be was, it was an accident, and she thought, a blessing in disguise. I'l die and free them but it didn't happen. That could account for the sadness... And smile and all. BLOOPER. Agreed. I mentioned that... Nice 2ake. lo7ed i2.

Thank you.. My name is Geetha. Why I feel serious covo is required is because they need to talk about the kids and their future. Also, Ram needs to ask her in private whether she really meant to commit suicide.

Why I felt she did try to kill herself...otherwise she would not have made that statement when he pulled her back, in the moments of such intense stress or relief, usually truth comes out.. Ok. I could be wrong, but I tend to analyse the charcters psychologically putting myself in thier shoes,

Nooo, I don't think Sooraj is her father, but I think he will play an important role if the father managed to get custody of kids post her demise.

A friend of mine says the chemo might not have happened and they might have gone to hospital for pre chemo tests.. I am not convinced, but this scenario is better than the blooper..

And that the children should be told...I feel the daughter is big enough to be told but not the son...maybe they'll tell the daughter when all hope is lost...let's wait and see what develops in that area...

On the whole a wonderful post beautifully expressed...

Glad you liked the post..

Hmm, yeah I guess it is tough to talk about the illness, But when Anu keeps parroting about letting her go, the next step should be she expressing about things she would miss because fate has been cruel to her, kids growing up, their eduction, marraige , etc..

I somehow think they not discussing the illness with kids is going to backfire.. The girl is quite grownup to understand, son need not to be told the details but atleast he should be aware that mother is not well.

Awesome review. I can never write so long.😆 Please keep writing reviews.😳

Yes, the episode was exactly how you described it. Oh- and later after Anu leaves, I think her father and Ram may just have a war over kids or career.

Thank you, I will continue writing as long as the show interests me 😉

I am pretty sure there would be a custody battle and I won't be surprised if the FIL gets custody, I think Sooraj is being given importance only for this purpose, he may act as a bridge between Ram & kids if the kids live with the granddad for a while.
