Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane review: 3 reasons why you will enjoy Ram Kapoor's latest outing on TV!

Mahesh Bhatt's small screen version of 1989 hit film Daddy is out and here's why you should not miss this one...

Ram Kapoor is back and this time as Ram Ahuja in Sony Entertainment's Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane. No, he's not a big shot like he was in his last outing Bade Achche Lagte Hai. Instead this shows an altogether different facet of the Humshakals actor. A fresh casting that sees Gurdeep Kohli as Ram's ailing wife and Mahima Makwana as his daughter ventures into a space that is rare on small screen. This is not an ordinary saas-bahu saga, nor is it a show like Gurdeep's Sanjivani, which revolves around the lives and complications of medical practitioners. In fact, the first episode showcased Anandita and Ram's lively struggle at dealing with a grim situation - death!

The first episode shows Anandita realising that she has very little time in hand; being pragmatic she wants her husband to deal with what life has offered. An emotional and utterly heart-broken Mr Ahuja would rather be an escapist and create beautiful moments with his wife than just let her go. Ram plays his part well, the dilemma of a common man who has a lot of love towards his family and not much bank balance to take on tough situations in life. Gurdeep is lovable in her part too. Together Ram and Anandita look like a real life couple offered a not so fair deal in life.

Here are three reasons you should tune in to Sony to catch this one...

# Ram Kapoor, the man like his size offers king size and a whole gamut of feelings and emotions. Unlike his other male counterparts on small screen, when Ram sheds a tear your heart breaks. The actor truly goes beyond his physique and proves that a good actor needs no six or eight packs to carry a show on his shoulders. Also it would be interesting to see Ram's version of Anupam Kher's character.

# A fresh take on terminal illness - we've often seen plots being punctured with failed logic on small screen. We are hopeful that the makers have stuck to their inspiration and will deliver on the said plot.

# Drama, emotions and action... The story itself provides for a huge scope of melodrama and emotion that is ideal for small screen. Plus Anandita and Ram's daughter Mahima are promising. And hopefully like her on screen dad Disha too will bring out a fresh expressions that will be a breath of fresh air from the regular rona-dhonaa that we witness on television.

BollywoodLifers, if you like us think that Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane has offered promise in it's first episode then like and share, if not please comment in the box below...

WOW! Thanks for the article. I will definitely go with Reasons 1 and two for sure. xD Ram is a great actor. And unlike Bade Achche, and Kasam Se, he isn't a rich businessman. Secondly, I hope they stick to the plot. And make it a finite series.
One thing though. NO REPORT SAYS BLOOD CANCER RELAPSE.😆

They don't mention things like that in bold. Blood cancer, is the cancer of the white blood cells. So, they say, WBC count has increased from so and so to so and so. Again. Or RBCs. Whatever. Anyways, such faux pas can be ignored and overlooked IF they make it a good entertainer for us. 👍🏼
