The episode was a pleasant surprise!! I really didn't expect them to have the follow up episode more captivating than the first one.. But it is indeed one step better than the inaugural episode. I felt more involved with the show today and could relate to the characters much more.. Guess, the individual scenes between the family members helped the cause.

Let me first get away with the one negative aspect of the episode.. The scene at Anu's father's place. The whole scene was over dramatic, but I still liked Gurdeep's performance as the daughter who wish to make amends, Ram's inability to help her and her father's anger & hurt (though he claims she broke his heart, I think it is his ego which is hurt). But the brother-in-law character was OTT, he was just too annoying. Hope the actor improves in the coming episodes..

For the BALH fans, it would have been funny to see Ram calling someone else as 'Mr. Kapoor' ;). Perhaps the makers could have avoided using Kapoor surname, personally I don't think of BALH while watching this show, hence no issues for me..

The best scene of the day was Ram - Disha scene, they were absolutely cute, excellent chemistry between the father - daughter duo, Mahima as Disha is very impressive. Disha had some very valid questions, and Ram was the perfect father who got down to her level to make her understand instead of preaching or shouting as many parents do (both in reel and real life). Hope, the daughter is shown to be an early teen (thirteen / fourteen), she fits that age group better.

It is very realistic for Disha to be curious about the report and want to find out. Her reaction to her mother visiting the grandfather and getting insulted was relatable too. In addition, we also got a bonus of seeing the younger Ram's pictures ;).

Ram & Anu continue to rock as the made for each other couple. The wishes scene would have again reminded of BALH, but I think it makes sense considering the dire state of Anu's health. And I think Anu's wishes are going to be more serious and long standing compared to that of Priya's in BALH.

Ram (the actor) is perfect for playing the adorable hubby... You feel sorry for him when he got insulted at his saasural, but also can relate with him when he says he doesn't mind doing anything for the happiness of his Anu.. His grumpiness in the first scene was cute, and he was to the point when he asked whether she is going to ask 'sorry' for marrying him.. The makers are careful to address the queries which would raise in the audience's mind.

Ram & Anu's banter was extremely lively and natural. And Ram, though is ready to fulfil her wishes, is not ready to listen to her demand of letting her go without treatment, extremely relatable, he ignoring her shouts and taking her to hospital tied to the cab was nicely done.

Overall a feel good episode, I think the makers are trying to make it as light-hearted as possible in-spite of being a heavy subject..

Some more family fun moments and reminiscing about Ram-Anu's courtship days in Rajasthan for tomorrow. Eagerly waiting...

Very good post and all that you said is so true and valid. You have captured the esence of the whole epi so well. Love reading your post.

I too used to watch BALH but left in between and at that time didn't know that IF existed 😳. Got to know about it only when I started watching Qubool Hai online and then joined the forum for my first love ASYA (Asad Zoya). So yea Ram calling someone else Mr. Kapoor and seeing the name plate outside the mansion did take me back in time too.

The scene where he's with his daughter, I can draw a symbolism from it. The way she said she loves him more than she loves Anu, well his could have been added to show how the father daughter are affected when the custody battle begins.

Aman, glad you enjoy my post..

Yes, they could have avoided the mention of Kapoor name., but the wishes track make more sense here than in BALH as Anu here has embraced the fact that she is counting her days and she is in a solid loving relationship with her hubby of 18 years, whereas RaYa were in the nasal stage of their relationship during the wishes track in BALH,, probably that reflects in the kind of wishes Priya and Anu out forth..

Priya's wishes were kind of fairy tale and childish whereas I expect Anu's wishes to be more solid and meaningful. It makes sense to be so because in Priya's case, it was only a cancer threat whereas here it is a certainty..

Thank you ChocoBerry, Glad you are enjoying my takes..

How much of BALH you have watched. I am a new comer to Hindi soaps, accidentally stumbled upon BALH and haven't watched anything else. Love Ram Kapoor character in BALH and the acting prowesses of Ram, the actor, which made the character so endearing..

Yes, I too think the father - daughter scene has some symbolic significance.. I read some articles on the show which mentions Euthanasia. Not sure whether they will incorporate such serious and controversial topic in the show, but if Euthanasia is indeed part of the show, daughter saying the father that he cannot do anything wrong could hold lot of importance.

You correct. Euthanasia is a very sensitive topic and don't think it is legal. I haven't read anything on the show so can't say anything there. And that convo definitely holds significance. We can only wait and watch on that.

BALH I had watched only till priyas wishes being fulfilled and then watched it on and off. I felt it was all getting too stretched and somehow the show couldn't hold my attention any longer. Have no clue about what happened after leap and priya dying and then coming back and stuff 😕

I had actually gone crazy, literally 😆, with qubool hai and its forum and online stuff on it that I did practically nothing more and my whole day was around the forum and the show. Am trying not to get that addicted this time around 😛.

Check out this video..

http://www.india-forums.com/video/television/359961-ram-and-gurdeep-speak-about-dil-ki-baatein-dil-hi-jaane.htm

Ram talks about doing the unthinkable which makes the character hit rockbottom, makes me feel they are implying euthanasia..

I can undertand the craziness that goes with serial watching.. It mostly happens to people who follow only one or two shows, the more hard core serial watchers are more detached.

A nice post. Yes. I was a die hard fan of BALH and Ram Kapoor, the character in that show but for one year. xD It was funny to hear him call the other guy Kapoor Sahab. But, I didn't feel hurt or anything.
It just went to prove that as a surname, Kapoor is damn awesome for all rich, big shot people. If it were Ram Kapoor, here, it would be a little out of place, at least, since we are used to Kapoors being rich. It need not be. It is just a perception. :)

Maybe, it was a little OTT. But, I really liked Disha's dislike for her grandfather.

Honestly, TV shows, glorify relationships so much, that they forget, people need not be the same. All grandparents are not caring. xD

They aren't. They need not be.

He was brother in law or brother? Anyways, that was silly.

Another thing, was the whole tying her to the taxi was a little OTT. It looked funny, but wasn't realistic. Over dramatised. But it is okay.

All the actors are good as of now. Especially, Ram and Anu making sure the kids don't do anything, is so natural, I felt it was real.

Another error was blood cancer relapse in the report, I mentioned it elsewhere. No reports say blood cancer relapse. They are more specific, with regard to WBC count and RBC count. But, ya, TV, we need to give them space.

Great post.

Glad you enjoy the post!!

From the articles, the guy is brother-in-law who is a ghar jamaai, and a negative character.

I didn't find the taxi scenes OTT because not all relationships works the same say, from the first episode cricket match, we see Ram and Anu taking a bite each other very publically, and nobody takes them (including themselves) seriously.. These very public screaming matches seems to define thier relationship, and they are long married couple, so used to each other's ways..

About the report, I think what they had shown as 'blood cancer relapse' was the summary or impression of the report, not the detailed report with all counts..
