I doubt if it is the Madhurai meenakshi.. Meenakshi is parvati herself born with 3 breasts.. She comes out of the yagya as a boon to the king of madhurai. She grows up to be a fierce wariior. Conquers entire south and wants to claim Kailash also. But when she sees shiv she falls in love and her 3 rd breast disappears.
They are married as Meenakshi sunderashen in madhurai.
To this day the wedding is celebrated elaborately.
Every night shiv {Idol] is taken to parvati room to spend the night with her.
The room is decorated with flowers and incense sticks.
Meenakshi nose ring is removed so as to not hurt shiv.
The doors are closed and no one is allowed till the morning .
It is said that when the doors are open in the morning one can actually see the flowers are disturbed.
