We have congregated here to commemorate the birthday of a star who has become fount of joy , our exuberance . Such is the persona of this suave that one cant help but giggle with a wide smile when he is on screen. His virile voice , brawny frame has all the desirability to send chills in one's body. His wide dimpled smile is so infectious that it can bring smile even to a gloomiest face. He is sanguine , full of life.

What happens when a an uncomplicated yet determined boy belonging to the 'Heaven on the earth' makes up his mind to make it big in the city of dreams Mumbai? The commerce graduate has set a supreme example how dreams are gratified. Today he is considered as one of the most triumphant.

One can never forget the sight when he made his first appearance in the show as Mahadev , even watching its repeats can send shivers to one's spine. But what is it that sets him apart from the rest? Its his down to earth self effacing nature that is well visible on his charming face. He has given his optimum character a superlative nourishment and it won't be wrong to say that one envisages his divine face when they hear , "Shiv Shiv - Mahadev"

The complete , nonpareil actor has surpassed his colleagues when it comes to execute tiny eloquent facets . The way he moulds his voice in the emotional scenes , make it powerfully angry in the intense scenes , rolls his eyes innocently , smile to his lady love , Mohit Raina is an actor par excellence. Ever seen a guy dancing , doing tandav so gracefully? Is there anything that Mohit Raina can't do?

The great actor is the one who bring life to his character , Mohit has done this effortlessly. He makes us smile when he smiles , cry when he cries . He has truly made us fall in love with him.

Mohit's journey from being a C.A. student to evolving into one of the television's leading man defines what sort of miracle can handwork do . Mohit Raina indeed has redefined stardom , show after show he as grown as an actor . In a short span of five years , where Mohit is standing today , it takes other some decades to reach.

After modeling for a brief period Mohit started his journey in the television with the science fiction , 'Antariksh' where he played Vikrant. Then came his first daily soap , Star Plus's all time favorite 'Bhabhi' where he played lead in the second generation. Mohit is one of those few lucky people who got to share same frame with none other than the iconic Mithun Da in his first movie itself , 'Don Muthu Swami'(2008). His leading lady was Harshita bhatt. Next year he recurred to the television with 'Chehra' (2009) where he played 'Garv Dhanvat Rai' a young suave business tycoon who falls in love with a handicapped girl & marries her after overcoming all the hindrances. Mohit next shone in Imagine's most popular series 'Bandini' (2009) where he played 'Rishabh Hiten Mahiyavanshi' , second son of an affluent Gujrati Family.

Fate was getting better and better for Mohit and then came Sahara One's 'Ganga ki Dheej' which dealt with the ordeals of young unmarried girls in a village called Kaliganj based in rural West Bengal. Mohit Raina played the male lead, Agantuk, who plays a pivotal role in eradication of the evil customs of the village. His chemistry with his leading lady touched millions of heart . Mohit played this affirmative character with with lots of charm & suaveness . And then after a year , he made a comeback , with the bang.

After a long hiatus , Mohit returned to the screen to portray one of the best opportunity one can ask for , Devo Ke Dev Mahadev where he stepped into the skin of Lord Shiva . Mohit has prepared himself extensively to give justice to his role of the supremest power & has won many accolades . He has played Mahadev with such dignity that people don't hesitate confessing that they envisage Mohit's prepossessing face while meditating/praying. Mohit left no stones unturned to make sure he does full justice , he learnt classical Indian dance , did taandav , bore extensive , arduous look . Despite his exhausting schedule , he makes sure that he doesn't detach his USP , his charming smile

Mohit has nourished this show like his own baby , so much life he has given to this show that his diligence is sheer visible. Such is the aura of this cherubic man that despite knowing whats written in our legends , we bite our nails during climaxes , smile like a silly chap when he smiles , cry seeing him in the pain. His impressive performance consistently brought out the fiery ferocity & tender calmness of the lord Shiva from his very first shot, but it also showed the gentle, playful, and mischievous sides of a lover , husband and the premier guru.

One does feel reluctant giving a lover's tint to a mythological character but Mohit is donning with a lot of appeal. The way he moulds his voice to be tender with his lady love , becomes fervent dealing with evil , rolls his eyes with amazement , his perfect postures , body language , that confident brawny walk , can anybody even imagine considering another name for this passionate role ?

Playing God is not easy...

While the actor admits to having had initial apprehensions of taking up the offer, he says, "Both my father and I are staunch believers of Shiva, so, I accepted Nikhil Sinha's offer to play God in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev."

No fear of getting typecast
"I don't believe that talent can ever get typecast. You just need to experiment with your looks and appear different on every show," states Mohit.

Prepping up to be divine
"I do a lot of meditation so that I am able to reflect calmness on my face, something that attracts people to Mahadev. It's not easy to get that calm look given the mad rush that's associated with a daily soap since we are always working against time," says he. Mohit also worked on his body and put on around five kilos for the role. "I had to put on weight since I had to reflect Mahadev's alpha male image."

Crazy fan-following!
There are fans who request him to visit their houses in his Lord Shiva attire so that they can offer their prayers to Him and seek his blessings! Recounts he, "My character had kheer for the first time on the show and the following day, so many people made kheer to celebrate the fact that their lord had devoured kheer. Fans get me kheer when they come to meet me on the sets. People call me everything from divine to pleasing to hot."

'Who wants to marry God?'
The only bane of essaying Lord Shiva is that Mohit has stopped getting marriage proposals. Not that marriage is on his mind, but he has become divine now. "Earlier, I used to get at least one or two proposals but not anymore. Bhagwan se jab tak insaan nahi bann jaata tab tak kuch nahi hoga. Bhagwan se kaun shaadi karega? They are also scared of the snake around my neck," he says.

Against his parents' wish
"My parents thought that I had lost it and would ruin my life when I told them that I wanted to become an actor. But then it was meant to be. I have faced struggles and have given some flops before hitting the jackpot. My father passed away two days before this role was offered to me. I accepted it as a gift from my father," he says.
