This topic was about Shakeel and that's why I mentioned how his jokes are disgusting at times and I never said that I loved RR's performance. You create a topic about their performance and you'll get my remarks there. By the way, All Caps is considered shouting on net and I don't find that very pleasing.

I think the poster simply means that the sensibilities of Indians are Pakistanis are different (to most extent). We have different perspective and outlook. There are certain cultural norms that are followed in the two respective countries. Our sense of dress, mannerisms and cultural liberties are distinctly different.
I get amazed when people keep saying that "we're one people separated by the border". This is so untrue. 60 years of living separately has led us to diverge in our perspective and point of view. This is a natural phenomenon. What is acceptable culturally and socially in India is not so in Pakistan...and vice versa.
It's only natural then that our manerisms and likes and dislikes will also be different. This doesn't make one culture and social norms superior to the other...it's simply different.

I have been noticing right from the beginning that you keep making negative comments about shakeel and somehow or other drag the Pakistan India issue. It has made me think that even being "so called educated" you are being quite a racist.

In your earlier posts you have written that Shakeel's comedy does not appeal to educated audience; pardon me but have you done like quadruple Phd or what? On what basis or you saying that? And what a hypocrite; by saying your maid likes certain kind of humor and you liking another because you are oh so educated, how "educated" does that statement make you look? Doesn't education and knowledge teach everyone that everyone is equal or do maids have different blood than the masters?

And Shakeel is so popular in India now that he is being called in one show after the other again and again stressing the fact that Indians love him equally as do Pakistanis. And some Pakistanis don't like him as well as some Indians.

Also, you say Swapnil is a fabulous ACTOR and has class. HUh! Puh-Lz....you call wearing a tight mini dress being a man and acting like Rakhi Sawant in every episode and TRYING to make people laugh on the expense of some other person is a sign of good class?? Please! And yes, Swapnil is a good ACTOR; an ACTOR and that's what we are saying, he is an actor not a comedian. He isn't spontaneous like Shakeel; he can't come up with witty one liners like Shakeel.

If you don't like him, that is absolutely fine; but don't give baseless reasons for your dislike, they don't make sense!

Getting overly sensitive are we? Where in my post did I disparage Pakistan or Pakistanis? Is it some kind of an insecurity that trigered this type of a reaction? All I said was that the two are different. I didn't say that one was superior to the other. I said nothing derogatory about either culture. Saying that the two are different is no insult.
If someone says that Chinese and Japanese cultures are different...in no way does such a statement insult either of them. As for saying that educated people do not like Shakeel's comedy...well I'm saying this because every single person I associate with (who has a college degree) finds him boorish. I've talked to atleast a 100 people about this subject. fThat's a pretty good sample of emperical data and one can deduce a logical conclusion that most educated people do not find him funny...atleast a certain segment of society does not identify with his comedy.
As far as my maid liking his comedy is concerned..she stated that she finds him funny. It only reenforced my belief that a certain segment of the population finds him funny...and please don't let anyone tell you that everyone is equal. We're equal in rights...but we're NOT equal in intellect, education, observation skills, etc. If having such beliefs makes me an elitist..then so be it.

Oh no! How did u find out that I am over sensitive and I am so insecure whenever I talk with you. Oh well, since now the cat is out of the bag, I am sooo jealous of you; just plain jealous about how you manage to pick up arguments with everyone and twist your sentences, for real, that is an art!

So since you think you are the only one with some brains here, let me explain myself. First you say that shakeel does cheap comedy and he has no class and that no "educated" person likes his comedy. Then you say that the sensibilities of Pakistanis and Indians are different implying whatever you said about shakeel to all Pakistanis. Get it?

And puh-lz, every person who has a college degree dislike Shakeel, ha! What a joke! I am completing my Undergrad degree from one of the best Universities in the United States and me along with most of the desi people I know, love Shakeel. So please that is all BS.

I said it once and I am saying it again. You not liking Shakeel is perfectly fine, he doesn't need any more fans he has got plenty, but DON'T give baseless reasons of why EVERYONE doesn't like Shakeel to make yourself feel better.
