i don't think that comment was meant for Terence....to me it seems to be regarding reality shows in general...but he should remember that even he has been a part of a reality show(DPL)..where he had absolutely nothing to do..😆

A part of it is mentioned here

"Our government sends me all over the world to show what modern India is about"- he said.
It is true. And amazing which makes him among the most envied and copied dance masters in the world. This is something that upsets him because imitators back home are doing such a bad job! Dance teachers, choreographers send students who copy everything in his academy from his enrollment form to his dance steps on their cell phones. And even before he presents it to India, they put it on reality shows on television."I am not worried" says Shiamak Davar,"but people get fooled into thinking this is good contemporary jazz. It took me 15-18 years to produce 10 good choreographers. And here there are copy-cats trying to make grade in 3 months! "

Think whatever you want, he didn't mention any name but he seems to be really frustrated with reality shows. Is it because he couldn't succeed in whatever reality show he was associated with ?

Princes signature step is a copy! i remember finding some Jamaican guy under youtube who does the exact same popping and locking!
but what Shaimak said wasn't that hard to digest! a professionally trained dancer for 15 years will look different while dancing compared to someone who is a natural but is untrained! it took me like 7 years to get into Pointe from Ballet! but in reality i couldn't get into Juilliard bcuz they said i was under trained!?!?! so shows like DID are more like luck by chance and some talent is required. like Mayuresh was a great dancer but he got voted out at like 8th that was bad luck. not bcuz he wasnt talented. so sometime we have more talent than others but their luck might work for them while our doesnt! this is what Shaimak mean that it took him like 18 yrs to get where he is now and others are getting the same amount of fame after only a few months!

lots of natural dancers come for auditions, but all those who make it to the top 18 have training, almost all of them , or they r proff dancers like siddesh who have been dancing since ag of 10. so they learn new stuff in 3 months istn exactly accurate truth.however given their age, not all of them r trained in wide range and they might know basic moves of other dances, and DID polishes them, its not very difficult for a talented trained dancer, to pick up complex moves when they already have a basic knowledge, in all the 2 seasons, i have seen, most of them on the sofa were trained dancers, proffessional and at times even choreographers. I ,also like u dont believ that they r not trained dancer, thats not possible, like singing reality shows r only for highly trained singers and very rarely do an awesome talent without training comes through, DID is similar too, i watcd the second season very closely and i think all of them trained , rather have specialised in one form or other.

on an aside, wow u have learned ballet, i love how graceful it is 😃 , i wanted to learn a bit of it, but now i am too old for it even to learn it for fun. i learnt a bit of classical indian form.

Tbh I love shiamak and Terence both! I connect more with Terence on screen than with shiamak as his toota-foota hindi no longer amuses me. :S But shiamak made me fall in love with dance in India. I've seen many dances in Indian movies but I can't single out very many where I think back and say WOW..what a beautiful dance sequence. (Possibly dola re from devdas and a few others) However when I saw shahid kapoor dance, I was blown away! Same thing happened when I saw shiamak's dance troupe in the JDJ finale. After that I became a big fan of his. Then I saw Terence and found it so hard to believe how much attention one can give to the little things, so much detail and each dance step of his seems perfect to me. I love how he puts everything in to his dance every time he comes to perform on stage. The two of them are unique and probably my favourite choreographers in the whole of India at least.
Now coming back to the topic..what made you assume he was talking about Terence? :S You know it's not good to make assumptions my friend. ;) Anyone remember when people on DID1 forum and tellybuzz reporters tried to make out as if there was a rift between the two choreographers when Jai was talking about his dance mentor (Shiamak) and all that really happened was that Zee edited that bit out. People love to make a big hoo-ha about absolutely nothing. Seems like the case here don't ya think?

SSA Wahegura....We missed ya sorely 😆🤗
Dont think Shiamak is talking abt Terence..TL is amazing dancer and choreographer...He is extensively trained dancer and keeps learning more..
I dont know for some reason Shiamak and his speech turns me off...He is bit sore abt opportunities were not there when he was starting out .
Abt SYTYCD one should not compare to DID as some of those contestants are very well trained and judging and voting system is bit different..
ABT NDM dancing on SYTYCD he defo had wrong mudras as he is not really trained in classical dance form but he is learning kathak...I wish dancer-choreographer like TL would be included in those shows VS NDM personally..
As far as DID or DPL or JDJ I still think TL is da best..Remo is right behind..
