Per the 2011 Census, if Sikhs made up about 58% of the Punjab population and Hindus made up about 39%, and if a large proportion of Punjab's population is involved in agriculture given that the state is a leading agricultural producer in India, assuming the religious distribution among farmers mirrors the overall population distribution, a reasonable approximation would put Hindu farmers in Punjab at around 39% as of 2011. So, I guess a significant percentage of Hindus too are haqdar for some shukria :)

If you can’t make an argument without resorting to abusing, you have already lost the argument in your own mind.

the only thing is Hindus in punjab gravitate towards business, while the Sikhs make up more of the farming class.

anyway, for the longest time now, most punjabi farmers have not even been farming themselves. They lease their fields out and live off the rent. They are just arbitraging the free electricity and free water the government gives them, and grow crops that are water-intensive because it is mufat ka maal. Other landowners hire seasonal workers from Bihar and elsewhere to do the hard labor. There used to be a time that we punjabis were hard-working. But that was then.

With other states in India including Maharashtra and Karnataka and UP and MP increasing farm production, it's gotten more competitive for the farmers... everywhere. And it's gotten harder to make money.

Today, the youth are getting out of punjab if they can because of the drug/ khalistani/ gang-war menace. Drugs and alcoholism have affected most families. The kid sits down with his father and drinks every day... People are selling their real estate. So while prices in a place like Panchkula have shot up, prices just across the border in Punjab have stagnated. The fact that the youth are getting out does not bode well.

meanwhile, these guys have kept electing the akalis and the congress. Between the 2 parties, they let drugs continue abated. The congress was responsible for the 1984 rioting and it was congress leaders who instigated the rabble.

now they have AAP. But they are more interested in handing out freebies that wins them the next elections, less in solving the systemic issues plaguing the state. They have in fact run up the deficits in a very short time...

Now after all that, somehow it's the BJP that is most at fault and to be abused. Go figure!

Thanks for noticing what I did as well. And he spoke of humanity. Unity. People hating in name of religion and what not.

It’s all a show smiley2 real agenda you have unearthed :)

There were no hate speeches....Bulldozing under law is called removing of property that is illegal. It’s the right legal step to take.

Hijab students - pointed by you more than once. See one can try hard to hide the real agenda but the identity behind the user and issue is always revealed.

Hijab and Burqa is one of the top 3 atrocities against women worldwide. Can you even imagine forcing someone to wear that in 50 degree heat? FYI Tajikistan banned burqa (Muslim majority country ). People are moving forward. smiley2

Since you love google so much and ask others to google. Please google. Protesting farmers displaying Khalistani flags. There was nothing peaceful about their protests conducting violence against police as well.

Right to protest is a fundamental right but cornerstone is to ensure no disruption to any other persons life and no violence. There was nothing peaceful about their protests. If you google further you will see that besides being paid to protest, they were brandishing unused tractors turned into weapons to break barriers. We shall not even talk about alcoholic langars.

Also please google about their demands and the cost to exchequer and bankruptcy of the country. It’s goood that I cannot post links so I dont have HW assigment to post 100 links to you on the math of their demands which are unreasonable and uneconomic.

2) If it was not clear enough, I am clarifying it, I am not referring to only one community. I am talking about all marginalised communities because they all need uplifting. It does not matter from which religion.

You can say it as often as you want. Your prime driver is Muslims as evident from all your posts. But moving on, if since 1940s (from your other post), they have not been uplifted - who was in governance for over 60 years? Why did Ambani create so much wealth in same period and millions of other enterpreneurs? The answer is not hard. They worked hard, educated their children. I know of personal stories such a driver of a big company living in one room (like a slum dwelling) educated his children and they now live a middle class life in a flat. They did not even use reservations for the success.

Who is marginalized? You ignored my question on which social scheme of current government discriminates anyone on basis of their caste and/or religion

3) No one is robbing anyone. If only just some hard work and some good idea made people billionaires. You are complaining about reservation without mentioning about casteism. Ambani and Adani can still be billionaires if they are charged more tax.

Not robbing? Really? Billionaires should be taxed more than 39%? What they have proven is the impact they have on country with things like Jio, industries and employment and growth they can create. It does not stop there. Reliance Hospital has equipment that are not there is most of Asia, school, etc. Can they do more? Sure. I hope they do. But it’s their choice. Asking for more is simply robbing Peter to pay Paul (but excuse is “in the name of humanity”). They have repeatedly proven that their wealth has created more industries, more jobs and enabled India vs people who get education through reservations want reservations for jobs also as that too is not enough. And that is too a burden on all tax payers when you have incompetent people getting education (versus more deserving)

Wealth creation is not criminal. Looting them through taxes is. Please google this - % of total SC/ST under 2011 census. It’s less than 20% so think 39% effective tax rate is 2x of their total %.

I can’t post links. Please google for NVIDIA CEO convocation speech ..hear his struggles to get where they are as a company. Steve Jobs. Apple nearly went bankrupt round 1. He left. Made Pixar. Came back and rest is history. And we are not speaking of just huge successes. Millions of people are making a livelihood working and even as small entrepreneurs. A street vendor called Honest Pav Bhaji is now a proud owner of international franchise. I can go on. Get my drift…only one community keeps screaming for socialism the loudest.

4) We are all privileged to be on iF sitting and debating, so I cant really say I am working hard. But the amount of people doing labour might not agree that just because you work hard, you will be rich.

They dont have to agree. If they were not able to convert hard work in riches, it’s not the rich peoples fault that their hard work made them riches. In case of Dhirubhai, he was first generation that made a lot of money with nothing (he had a job as his first source of income). It took second generation to preserve and grow it.

Still cannot justify rich have to pay more taxes for the rest. You are frankly grasping at straws now just because you think a stroke of a pen can increase taxes and all is well as someone got some benefit by robbing the rich for a short time.

5) If you think people are going to vote after the points I mentioned in point 1, I do not understand why you think they will vote for BJP.

People did vote for BJP. Please check the results. They have single handedly gotten more seats than entire I.N.D.I.A bloc.

I am leftist, I think I have said that multiple times. You can assume I am a muslim/Hindu or any religion, I do not mind.

edited to add this part: you will be rich.

I am rich because I am rich in my thinking and my education and my hard work and dont want to rob Peter to pay for what I desire in my life for myself or my own.

Whether you are self proclaimed left or right or muslim or not - who cares? Self assigned labels have no meaning to me. What matters is quality of thinking - Not left or right.

Socialism to redistribute wealth is not the panacea, it in fact can be a problem because it creates systematic entitlement (if people have still not been able to break the cycle from 1940s as you said). It actually proves INC looted the country and that the socialist policies dont work either.

I am open to more free schools (built with quality over time), compulsory primary and secondary education with a goal for 0 reservations in 10-15 years. BTW it also means banning madrassas as the first logical step to stop wasting space/time and most importantly the minds of young kids :)

By the way, I hope you realize. You want permanence of SC/ST. hence you spoke of Creamy layer. Why have another certificate? Why not eliminate SC/ST to begin with as that is caste based. Some user already pointed out the existing laws on discrimination on caste. It’s important to enforce those laws. Not have someone in a category permanently if your goal is actually elimination of caste based approach (and not just a Muslim agenda).

Why not just have economic need certificate for a short period. It should also have riders like not more than 1 child. Why? Because if 2 adults cannot provide a living for themselves, what right do they have to bring a child into this universe with abject poverty? Freedom means, no one can stop them. But at same time, they too need to be socially responsible so society can have terms on which they will help them. A child is a blessing and a gift and most importantly a responsibility. Dont have one if you are managing or waiting for govt handouts to make it every day. They deserve better.

Finally. We say Modi ka parivaar for one simple reason. Sabkaa Saath, Sabkaa Veekas. Please name a single social scheme that discriminates against minorities.

You can call our democratically elected PM and govt fascist and what not.

You also stated in another post that you don’t think you have called Modiji any names at least here.

Do you know that the farmer protests had Khalistani flags in full display … so why won’t one call them Khalistanis ? Idiots was mild as per the Indian law they are separatists / terrorists. …please google and check images of farmer protests.

please refrain from the need to lecture us Indians about Punjab and our views on Khalistanis as a country per our laws. 🙏🏻.

Yes. I have been blocked too. Facts are hard to digest for TM. He prefers to call us Andh bhakts and what not and then block us.

I believe that the exposè about existence of sects in Islam and kafir and jihad was too much to digest at once

in simple words, when the community loses focus and efforts are directed in terrorism (Khalistan) and demanding entitlements (MSP) because they got rich and lazy, the bottom falls out even if they have one of the most fertile lands. Socialism doesn’t work.

All is not lost (yet). Elections show they won’t embrace BJP which is their right but more farmers (not the professionals hired for protest) were busy farming during protests.

As an integral part of India, they too will see the light and hopefully turn around vs issuing warrants per AAP and INC orders for someone that brought to light the alcohol issue and start focusing on real issues like the drug problem you pointed out.
